Ive been here for a pedicure a few times. It’s a bit pricier than other places. But staff are very friendly and overall they do a better job. The place is the cleanest compared to other nail salons I’ve been to.

Very disappointed with this Spa. I had just an OK experience with them in the past and decided to no longer go there, but they recently had some renovations, so I thought I would give it another try. I went in on a Saturday morning first thing for a mani/pedi. First of all, I was COMPLETELYRUSHED. Secondly, I had to ask the girl to rinse my feet before she moisturized and massaged my legs. My feet just came out of the dirty water where she buffed my flaky skin and washed my feet — GROSS! Licensed professional? I think not! When I sat for my nails, I had a different technician. AGAIN Completely Rushed and as she’s ready to put moisturizer and put the hot towel, I notice I STILL have the nail polish on my finger when I was testing it. Needless to say, EXTREMELY surprised when I was told I had to pay $ 35.00. Outrageous for what I received. You do NOT get a full, sanitary manicure and pedicure. Very Money Hungry Spa and the client is not getting what they deserve! A very rushed job that is going to chip by tomorrow. I will not be going back there.

I’ve been a loyal Star Spa customer for the last 7 years, going once a week for a manicure, and once a month for a pedicure. I don’t frequent so much now because I moved to the city but every time I visit my parents, this is the spot I go to. Here’s why: 1. The prices are great(recently bumped from a $ 9 manicure to $ 11, which is still reasonable). 2. Nail polish selection is large and they usually have all the new colors.(Also decent gel color selection). 3. Great customer service, they know me by name and are always very welcoming. 4. Massage chairs for pedicures. 5. Complimentary back massage when drying. If you’re coming on a Friday evening, make an appointment because it can get very busy. They also just finished renovations and the place looks great!

Not the best and not the worst. I was in the need for a quick manicure so for $ 9 I was down to give them a try. It was quick, they had almost current colors and the staff seemed nice. The lady who did my manicure gave me a lack luster back rub and just slapped my back a few time. While I’m only on day 4 of the manicure and there’s no visible chipping, there’s weird bubbling from the nail polish, they probably thinned out the polish-which is annoying.

I have been going to Star Spa for about one year, each time the service varies from great to poor. I don’t think I will go back anymore I have given them a few opportunities now. The last time I went I had made an appointment the day before but ended up waiting 25 minutes past the scheduled time. Another client sat with me too waiting well past her appointment time. The chair I sat in for the pedicure was not working properly, there are two, number 4 and the last one up against the wall are the chairs fyi. They were all in a rush because it was a holiday, by the end of my two hour appointment for a simple mani pedi, 4 different people had worked on me. Unfortunately when they shift people between appointments something always gets left off like base or top coat, they don’t really get your cuticles or callouses clean or they forget what package you wanted. This time my feet were not finished properly and the girl left to take care of her client who came in for their appointment. This kind of put me off but I tried to understand. A young man took over and finished painting the polish, he did a good job at actually applying it but the pedicure was over, there was no leg massage and the bottoms of my feet were a mess still and he said he needed to hand me off to another person which was not the girl who started to do the manicure while I was getting the pedi. When I went to the next chair to get the manicure, the woman didn’t tend to the skin on the cuticles she just pushed it around a little and said it looked clean, clipped my nails, filed them for a a second and started to paint. The hand massage was so rushed it was a joke. The polish that I chose was put on too fast and thick and it started to smudge after the top coat was drying, by then it had been two hours and I was over it. The paint was all over my cuticles and by the time I returned home it was chipped. My last appointment I was considering not coming back, this sealed the deal. I searched for a long time to find Star Spa and my first few appointments with them were very nice. I recommended them to a lot of friends and family. The last time I went something similar happened. I was getting a very expensive package of their Spa Service list. My neck was killing me and I just needed to relax before a big business trip. I also brought a friend to pamper, she left feeling frustrated after asking for a specific package and then not getting what she wanted after explaining to three people many times exactly what she wanted. I did mention it to the girl at the cash that this was not what I asked for and the price is more than what we agreed upon for the both of us, she was just too confused and then became defensive to even try to go into it. We both felt like for the amount of money we are paying for spa services, why do we always feel at their mercy instead of pampered just a little, leaving confused, $ 100 less in our wallets and guilty if we don’t tip well? We are very clear in what we want but we went to relax and feel good, we don’t feel like berating someone or asking like a complete diva to get the point across, the staff should be trained to know and do what they are supposed to do, provide spa services. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere, again.

Hands-down the best nail salon in the area – I find myself at Star any time I’m within a 20-mile radius. They do a phenomenal mani/pedi. My mother even trusts Jazz to do a French manicure.(If you knew my mother, you’d know what high praise this is.) And the prices are absolutely reasonable, considering you get more little extras and better service than you would for twice as much in Manhattan. I went in today for a spa pedicure and 20-minute back massage. My feet are now baby-smooth and my toes painted to perfection(they didn’t even charge me for my crazy alternating-color polish scheme), and 20 minutes in backrub heaven are a much better way to let your toes dry than one of those UV machines. I’ve never had anything but the best service here. Everyone is so sweet, caring, and easy-going. Five stars all around. I’ll be back soon!

This place is rather pricey but great if you are in a rush. They have lots of people working there to help you. Also, I like the fact that they have a few male workers. Believe it or not, they are both great with nails and feet. One of them did my pedicure a couple of weeks ago, and it came out fantastic. It’s been about a month and the nails are still perfect. Very clean place as well!

This is my favorite go-to spot for manis and pedis. They do a great job at NY-competitive prices. They pay attention to detail and manicures from there seem to last longer than ones I get at other salons AND their prices are more reasonable. They really give my feet a good scrub when I get pedicures(important!). I also love that little minute long massage they give you when you sit to dry your nails. I got an hour long body massage as a gift, and was surprised to discover a downstairs massage area. I forgot to ask for the name of my masseuse, but she was fantastic. Really worked out the knots and wasn’t afraid to slap me around a bit(in a good way!). It was really rejuvenating. I highly recommend this salon for both manicures and massages.

i love star spa. the only place i get my nails done in great neck. even when it’s super busy, the people are always nice and waiting is never more than 10 min. awesome selection of hot colors(hot pinks, magentas, electric purples) and regular colors too. the best mani/pedi in the area hands down. why? because of these reasons: 1) its only $ 30 2) you get a foot massage with lotion, and a microderm abrasion massage 3) pedi chairs are comfy with optional electronic massage remote 4) large choice of magazines and 4 TVs 5) yummy hand massage pre nail painting 6) while nails are drying, you get an impromptu yummy back massage! i’m sorry jazzy didn’t like star spa. but every experience i’ve had here is great and they all understand english very well :-)

$ 9 for a manicure. No they did not soak my hands. Surprisingly the people spoke mostly mandarin. I was surprisedbecause in the bay area these shops are mostly owned by Vietnamese. It is day 4 and my manicure is already beginning to peel. You be the judge.
