That is so triable restaurant, my families and I went to have the lunch during our trip, I saw a horrible small spider in the soup when we almost put in the mouth :(, and the chopstick moldy with Rude and brutal service. It is really Bad experience

NOTE: This establishment is now known as LANKING, but the review still applies as it is the same operators and there is no entry for ‘Lan King’ on Unilocal. The short version of this review is that this place is solid and very good when it comes to flavor, price, and service(including delivery). The ladies that run it(sisters?) have been at it for a VERY long time, they know what they’re doing and they take pride their work. I live nearby and often order in for delivery, and they always get it to me fairly quickly — and it’s always freshly made and delicious. It’s important to note that the food is cooked fresh per order, not reheated or sitting around. I’ve eaten there in the restaurant several times, so I know that’s how they do it. The fried rice they made smelled and tasted better than any I’d ever had — I was actually surprised how excited I got over it :) The ladies are very«old school» — so, not surprisingly, they don’t seem to do much advertising — especially online. I wish more people knew about the business, because the food and service are very good.

Though it’s been a while since I had Chinese in Great Neck, I’d long been a fan of Garden of Plenty(now closed) and East Shore Wok(which recently let me down). I’d never had a chance to try Shang-Hai until tonight, but the place was a pleasant surprise. The service by phone was quick and comprehensive, without any language or accent barrier. The menu selection was wide and varied, with a solid mix of the traditional and the adventurous. The delivery was on time(we’d been told 40 mins.), and the food arrived hot. Every entrée was wonderful(particularly the«Ten Ingredients Lo Mein» — essentially a «House Special Lo Mein» — the spicy beef, and the cold sesame noodles); the appetizers were also delicious(especially the boneless spare ribs). The House soup was the only relative disappointment, and only by comparison to how much we enjoyed everything else. I’m definitely going to order again — and recommend it highly to anyone in the area.
