Great place to eat oysters on the half shell. The oysters were medium to large size. The atmosphere is great. We also had crawfish, and the big fish sandwich. Most of the crawfish were a bit small but the seasoning was good. The service was great. We were seated by the window, it was a good view facing the street. Overall I give this place a great rating. We recommend this place to anyone that wants to go and eat their favorite seafood dish.

I have always really liked this place but Friday night was disappointing. I had the fried shrimp. They were tiny. My girlfriend liked her blackened catfish. Love the ambience of this place just disappointed.

Everything was delicious from the Buffalo shrimp and blackened fish down to the clam chowder! Service was attentive and accommodating, always leave happy when we visit! Awesome location on main street in Grapevine, love the preservation of the buildings from the original settlement, great glimpse of history!

Came here from Unilocal reviews and it was packed but we got seated fast, luck. They had a guy singing, it added to the atmosphere. Our server came quickly, took our order and it came fast, real fast. I had the combination, shrimp(blackened), oysters and catfish were fried. I’m not a fan of cornmeal fried food, too grainy and if it’s under seasoned it will be very bland. Surprisingly it wasn’t bland but no overwhelming flavor either. It was good for a restaurant but I’d want a little more seasoning if I was cooking at home. The shrimp was tasty blackened, I’m glad I got it. The sides I got were veggies and mashed potatoes and there isn’t much you can say about potatoes that are mashed. The veggies were a nice balance of firm and mushy. I don’t like crispy veggies and they were seasoned nicely. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars was because I left still wanting more. I hate going out to eat and leaving«still hungry.» I’d come back and visit again and trying something else that hopefully will fill my belly. On another note the sweet tea was just that, sweet.

The food was good. I ordered the oyster dinner 8 piece with red beans and rice. My two suggestions are make the red beans & rice thicker. It had the consistency of soup. Add more food to the plate. I was still hungry when I left. Other than those two things the service was fast, accurate and friendly. The sweet tea was EVERYTHANG! I like my tea diabetical(you Unilocalers are welcome to use that word!) Next time I’ll get an appetizer or dessert to help with the hunger issue!

This is a local fav and that should tell you it is both great food, awesome HH drinks(cocktail pints– $ 3) and beer and wine if you are a slow learner. The Fish Tacos(half order is plenty for one) or full order makes 2 people very satisfied. The side order of fresh cut steamed veggies with a bit of seasoning was great. They have a signature sauce for most of the seafood that is perfect. The bartenders(Ahna and Crystal) are spot on the Mark and always serve like champs. Try this place and you will be happy but please don’t tell to many folks cause I don’t like crowds :) The only thing missing is the western suburb snobs and Dallas crime so don’t invite them either.

This place was a chance discovery in our effort to explore main street Grapevine on a Sunday afternoon. Quite an enjoyable experience. Wasn’t that hungry so had the crab cake sandwich and soup(clam chowder in my case). Awesome! MyBeth had the blackened shrimps and broccoli slaw and side of seasoned waffle fries(appears as if the fries were seasoned with the same seasoning as the delish blackened shrimps). Also awesome! Now she wants to come back for anything«blackened» and we will definitely come back to try the crawfish boil!

Really good boiled crawfish when in season. Out of season I usually eat the seafood quesadillas.

I want to give more stars, I really do. Maybe I could go 3 and a half. 85% of the time I order the appetizer(steamed) crab legs(about ½ lb) and a side house salad. That combo never disappoints! They make the dressing, which should me a must for ALL restaurants, unfortunately is not always the case. Their crab is good and the salad is fresh. The crawfish I had today was not great. And I love crawfish, so it was actually disappointing. It IS a cute place, though, and most of the food is good. They ought to «up» the game, though. It COULD be great with a little more attention to detail. Chow!

Found this place by luck. Great atmosphere and a great place to meet friends. The food is out of this world. Had the clam chowder and étouffée. OMG!!! I want more. This is the first time of many to come here

Service was great, food was awesome and it was a great environment. The chef must know what Cajun flavor is because it taste like Louisiana. I recommend the oysters if they are in season. Also had the crawfish and the spice was good. Get a Revolver Blood and Honey to quench your thirst.

I like it. Party of three. We all had the fish tacos. Oddly enough, they were rolled(if you happened to see that Talk thread ), though I don’t think they are very authentic(the remoulade sauce gave it away). Wife & friend went with the fried option. Me, the healthy one, went with the grilled. Blackened also an option. I also went with the half-order, which is a nice option. In retrospect, should have gone full as it would have been a nice lunch today. Tacos were good. I liked my grilled, with the remoulade. Side of rice was good too. So Big Fish is a cozy place. It’s a tad noisier than I like, mostly due to a tight table configuration. Most tables are on a raised area a few steps up from the bar area. You do get a nice view from up there. Service was OK. Not omnipresent, but close enough to be flagged down. Bottom line: A-OK option for fish, including oysters on the half-shell, in Grapevine.

Grabbed a quick lunch the other day by myself. I’ve been here once before but it was ages ago, so I went in to jog my memory. Super casual. Employees were friendly and easy going. Several different people said hello, seated on me, waited on my, took my order, delivered my order. I’m not really sure who my waiter was to be exact, but the atmosphere was so laid back it really didn’t matter. I was well taken care of, and served quickly. I had the crab cake sandwich which was tasty but typical.- served with lettuce, tomato, onion and remoulade sauce. I ordered this along with a big olé’ Blood and Honey. It really hit the spot on that Tuesday afternoon. I’d wander back in if I were by myself looking for a lunch spot. Not sure i’d be able to get my husband to accompany me though– the place has a super seafoody smell.

Was surprised to find this quaint seafood restaurant in downtown Grapevine. Stopped here for lunch yesterday and we were seated immediately. Staff was very courteous and accommodating. We ordered a small cup of seafood gumbo, fish tacos, and a blackened catfish po-boy with fries. The gumbo was perfectly spiced but with a runny clear broth which I am used to a thicker saucy style gumbo but this was still very tasty with perfectly tender chicken, sausage, and shrimp. The fish tacos were more like fish taquitos as the tortilla was rolled up and gently fried on each side. I’ve never had this type of fish taco style but I have to say it was a perfect delivery method for a tasty blackened fish taco. It was severed on a bed of rice that was a little flavorless so I would suggest a different side dish. My husbands po-boy was perfectly crispy fried and not greasy at all and served on a soft bread with remoulade. He said it wasn’t the best he’s had but it was good. All in all this place has excellent service and decent seafood so we will return!

I previously had a somewhat disappointing experience here(only related to the service — not the food) and I am so glad we decided to come and and give it another try. We had lunch around 1:00 and really enjoyed ourselves. We were immediately seated and our order was promptly taken. We waited a very reasonable amount of time and the food was excellent. This is not a fancy place and they don’t try to be. It is a relaxed, casual atmosphere. My wife had perfectly fried catfish filets. The breaking was light and crunchy, the meat was tender and fresh. Their hush puppies are excellent. The waffle fries are as well. I had the crab cakes and fresh vegetables. I also got a side of the red beans and rice, which we remembered from last time. Overall a much better experience and I am happy to keep coming back. I need to remember their fully stocked bar next time we are ready to go out and grab a drink and listen to some live music on the weekend. Definitely give this restaurant a try.

Big Fish restaurant has never failed me in all of the times I have dined here. Big Fish is always consistently awesome in every way. Be it the great seafood to the drinks as well as the service, it’s always top notch, even when they are busy. If it’s your first time here I highly recommend the seafood quesadillas, they are freaking fantastic. The oysters here can be a bit pricy at times but it’s worth it, because they shuck them right. Also they seem to have a general sweetness to them as well. I just love, love the crawfish here when they are in season. You can order two types, regular and nitro. I strongly suggest you order the regular with nitro on the side. You done want to ruin good crawfish with something too spicy. You can also order your crawfish with a side of butter to dip them in. On top of all of this the crawfish are very reasonable. I have ordered multiple fish, crab and fish dishes and they have all come out exquisite. Some other highlights are: fish n chips, redfish and snow crab combo. Hot damn they are good! Lastly the service, here is great! The staff here is very attentive and eager to please. You can sit at the bar, table or booth and you get the same great service anywhere in the building. If you are still reading this I strongly suggest you stop by for a bite.

My cousin & I needed some food after all of that wine sampling. This place is surprisingly good! This spot looks divvy, but in a most charming way. The fried oysters were fried perfectly, as were the tender hush puppies. My cousin’s blackened shrimp po-boy…yes, Blackened, was equally good. The gumbo was not great, but only a few spots outside of Louisiana can actually make good gumbo We will definitely be back to try other menu items. We really liked the fact that they offer blackened or fried seafood on po-boys.
