«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Back in the day, fast food was a treat. It was something my parents got for my brother and I once every full moon. BK has always had a place in my heart growing up as a kid. I loved how BK flame broiled their burgers and how crispy the fries were. Even so, BK was always the little brother of McDonald’s. We would always go to McD’s even though I knew the whopper was the king of fast food burgers. The other day I had an insatiable craving for a whopper. Let’s start off with pricing. It was about $ 7 for two whoppers and a large fry. This was WITH a BOGO coupon(Yes, I shared the meal with another person. I’m not that fat… T_T). I do think this is overpriced. BK, why are you charging me extra for a slice of cheese? Seriously, year 2014 and I have to pay almost $ 1 for a slice of cheese. Also, my burger was lukewarm/cold. When I imagine flame broiled burgers, I expect hot burgers with a warm bun right off the grill. The tomatoes, the lettuce, the pickles, the onions were cold… which is fine. But make the meat and bun warm so it doesn’t feel like I’m eating a salad. The fries were great, though. They were fresh and crispy. I have come to a realization that BK is an inconsistent fast food chain. They lack consistent quality throughout their chain stores. Now that I think about it, I have never seen a packed BK restaurant or people in general ever wanting to go to BK. When I went to school at UT, the BK parking lot near campus was always completely empty. Looking back, I was always the one who brought up the idea of going to BK. Well… I think my BK days are finally over. Farewell.
