What a great open space! Sat in the bar area and enjoyed a wonderful view of the Rogue River. Food was delicious, housemade chowder and great fish and chips. I will be hanging out here for sure, the«Cheers» bar in my town.

If I could give a sixth star, I would :-p Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Their fish and chips are they’re signature dish, and it didn’t disappoint. Their clam chowder is made from scratch, and it has a perfect balance of texture and flavor. Their chips are roasted and dusted with garlic and parmesan; basically, they’re addictive like crack. I was wondering why the restaurant was empty, but it was clear in 5 minutes – no alcohol available :-p they recently re-opened under new management, and are still acquiring their liquor license(due to receive sometime in October). But they’re set up for a great sports bar, so once they have it, they’ll be golden. Service was speedy and friendly, the prices were fair, and the quality was excellent. I would come back anytime, especially once they can serve a beer! To quote my dad about the fish and chips: «I haven’t had fish and chips like that since England!»

Overall the food and service was good. They just opened a week or so ago I’m told. It definitely showed during our meal. Won’t hold that against them though. Between us we got the mushroom swiss burger, linguini and clams with lemon garlic sauce, and fish and chips. Our server was very friendly and clearly new at the job. What she lacked in experience she made up for in effort. Took our drink order as we were seated, and came back to take our order in a good amount of time. Checked on us often. The burger came with plenty of toppings, and was big enough it be hard to fit in your mouth. It was cooked well done, but despite that it was extremely juicy. Great job on the burger. The clams in the linguini were a bit overcooked, but not bad. The sauce on this was almost soup like(never seen this before in this type of dish), and very good! Fish in the fish and chips came out moist and perfectly cooked. Place was clean, and had a comfortable feeling. We were told by the local we were visiting that most restaurants in town were over priced with bad food. So this was a pleasant surprise that the food and service were good. The newness of the place showed in a few areas. I will tell you all of them here in hopes the restaurant staff reads this. None of this is really a big deal at all, and I hold none of it against the place(though I believe many would). We were told every dinner and burger came with coleslaw(contrary to what the menu reads). Two out of three of the meals came without it. The calamari appetizer was overcooked and chewy. Ordered well done fries and they were far from it, the second try at it was better, but not by much. One dinner came with the wrong side. No ketchup was offered(we all had fries or should have anyway). Some of the fries had seasoning salt on them, and some were unsalted. Though the server checked on us often, she did not refill any water glasses until asked to do so. The coleslaw was homemade, and while not bad, it was lacking. Perhaps my biggest complaint, though still not that big of deal, our check was brought while we were half way though the meal. This made me feel a bit rushed. We were not rushed, and still checked on after this. So it was clearly a lack of experience thing. With all that being said, this restaurant has a great deal of potential. All in all, if you find yourself in Gold Beach, give this place a try! Good food, friendly staff. 5⁄5 Would visit again.
