I came to this office to see Navid Nami, D.O., which the card was under«Advanced Dermatology» or «Island Dermatology» so it is a bit confusing why there are different names for the places he works for since the address and contact number is exactly the same as this one which is «The Dermatology Institute». I’m not familiar with his other offices and only reviewing for the office at 210 S. Grand Ave., Suite 208 in Glendora which by the looks of it is this one. I’m also confused as to if he is a DO, MD, or both? If this is the correct Dr. that works out of this office… My experience has been ok with this Dermatologist and the staff, didn’t leave having a terrible nor great experience. Office is nice & clean and Dr. Nami was kind and nice on the eyes(compared to most older Dermatologist I have seen), well ladies you got to admit it doesn’t hurt =) LOL. He didn’t spend much time with me as I would of liked and at first I had felt like I was just another number/patient and he needed to get up out of there to the next patient because he got straight to the point and moved on, not that this is a terrible thing. I would of liked to have been given a prescription that was covered or that at least I could afford, what was the point other wise?! Medicine is not affordable if it’s not covered, geez can they really charge that much… ouch! I also would of liked if they offered some type of alternative treatment plans or given me more options of what I could have done since I left not knowing what they offer at this place but than again didn’t ask either, guess I figured Navid Nami, D.O. would have mentioned it.

I had a referral to see Dr. H(Peter) Tran, but saw Dr. Phong Bui instead since he was the only one in the office at the time. They’re both dermatologists, and I had never seen either of these doctors before so I didn’t know what to expect. First of all, Dr. Bui is super young(I think). I’m not saying this is a bad thing, but just an observation. I wonder how long he’s been doing this? Anyway, it really doesn’t matter as long as he does a proper job. Unfortunately, the appointment was kind of rushed, but I didn’t understand why… I mean, it wasn’t exactly busy up in thurr. He examined me for a few seconds and left. He came back about 5 minutes later with my prescription, and told me what the problem was with no detail. So I’m not expecting a long drawn out story of what the condition is, but dang yo, that was pretty effin fast. Perhaps Dr. Bui needed to leave soon. Maybe he had some dermatalogical(is that a word?) emergency to get to. Who knows. I’m not complaining. If these meds work, then he did his job. The thing that irked me was that after I got my prescription, I asked him if this had anything to do with another medical condition I have. He replied«No… you have ____?» Um, yes I do! I wrote it down in those forms I filled out. The ones his office requires you to fill out in order to disclose your medical history. Those forms were in the chart in his hands, but apparently he didn’t read them. That was kind of annoying. I know for a fact that skin conditions are directly related to this other medical condition, and he just completely missed it. I could have just told him during the short exam, but I didn’t know that he didn’t read anything in my almost empty chart. This is really bad considering I was a new patient. You’d think he’d ask a few more questions about a patients’ medical history. :/ Still willing to give this place a chance tho. Maybe I’ll get Dr. Tran next time, but hopefully I won’t have to see a dermatologist again anytime soon!
