First off, of all of the pediatricians I have ever taken any of my children to over a 17 year span, Dr. Firman is the first and ONLY that I can really say I LOVE! I gave birth to a preemie in January, and after 12 days in the NICU he was released, but not before having to choose a doctor to follow up with. Our current family practice does not see children under 6 months of age, so trying to find one for him was so tough! My husband and I went through a massive list of doctors provided by my health insurance, and we literally went one by one reviewing countless doctors, and seeing what other parents had to say. It’s an understatement to say that we were both being super cautious and picky when it came to our little guy, and seriously didn’t give any doctor info to the hospital until the day before discharge. My husband went off the list since no one impressed him, and just Googled docs in Glendora, and Dr. Firman’s practice came up. She had the best reviews of ALL of the other doctors we went over… so we chose her. I was so happy at his very first follow up appointment to finally have a doc that CARES. And yes, you can totally see that on the first visit. She listens, she provides you with sooooo much information, and answers all of you questions. She provides parents with so much materials and gifts for you and baby, without you even asking. Best part about her and her office is that they are available when ever you need to stop in, no matter how big or small your concern is. Dr. Firman called me on my cell phone in between seeing patients to see how my son was after he contracted RSV at less than 2 months old. He was diagnosed on a Friday, and she was on the phone with me Monday morning. She told me what I needed to do, aside from the directions given to me on Friday, and said she’d call me again later on in the evening to check on him. If nothing changed, she wanted to see him again ASAP. I NEVER had a doctor who treated patients this way, and I have encountered quite a few over time. I would not highly recommend her to new parents, or parents looking to switch doctors, I would encourage it! Some people had negative things to review about her and her office, but maybe they’re just too hard to please. Me of all people who have cause for concern in my situation, was made to feel confident in my son’s recovery, all because I feel he’s in the best hands.

I went to this office for a year before finally making a switch to another practice. I found both doctors very critical of my parenting skills. They talked down to me as if I couldn’t understand them. They pushed different tests on my kids that I didn’t want to accept. When I would decline, they would respond with, «Well, I did it with my kids. If it is good enough for me, then you should do it too» When I thought my infant had allergies, Dr. Fermin rolled her eyes at me. Every time I went to the office, I left feeling frustrated and not listened too. Yes, the nurses were nice enough and my kids were taken care of, but it was always a battle. Glad I finally switched pediatricians!

My son is five and we’ve been with Dr. Firmen for 2 years. She is caring and takes time with us each time we visit. She refers us to outside services when needed without a problem. I never have trouble getting an appointment and the wait is not long at all. Highly recommend her!

I switched my son’s doctor 3 times before I found dr. Janet Fermin. Could not have asked for a better pediatrician. They have same day emergency walk ins. Scheduled appointments are available within a few days and the wait time is non existent. The staff is awesome super nice. Dr Fermin provides resources and reading material for the mothers and is very attentive to the babies. Dr. Fermin will be my child’s doctor for as long as they take blue cross
