This is a good place with good food at a good price. We had the AYCE which included non-sushi items. Overall, it was a good experience, ‘tho the only area for improvement was the lack of speed in the service, which is understandable with only 3 on staff at the time and there were 4x + more customers than employees, so they were understaffed. The service was friendly however. If you’re in a rush, or have little patience, this may not be the place for you. If you have time to chill n’ kill, and can spend over 45 mins for the process of ordering and eating, you may like this place. Parking was really really really tough in their lot, and the adjacent neighborhood residential streets are zoned for«No Parking» thanks to having a college campus nearby where students probably infringed upon area’s parking spaces. You can get a «Free Can of Soda» with a Unilocal Check In too…

I would give this place no stars if I could. Let me explain… Slow service even though only two parties in the whole restaurant. Ran out of uni. We ordered 8 but they only gave us 6 and claimed they ran out. We couldn’t even order more. How is that«all you can eat?» We should’ve gotten a huge discount due to lack of advertised food. Sushi chefs were shockingly unprofessional — texting while working and intently watching the NBA game instead of making sushi. They were also cheering loudly and annoyingly. It’s no surprise the food came out supremely slow. Green tea ice cream was not legit. The waitress assumed our entire table wanted fried ice cream and did not specify our orders. Additionally, the green tea ice cream was not flavorful in matcha as is usual for Japanese restaurants. TL;DR: Not worth my or your time of day.

Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Pretty fresh and the AYCE option for lunch is a pretty good deal. Its a small place with not a lot of parking but its definitely worth scouting out a spot to park in.

the place is tiny. The server was extremely nice and attentive. The presentation of the actual sushi was beautiful. Food took a while to come out, more than usual wait for sushi. Sushi rolls were great. AYCE sushi.

Ordered buffet and we did try a variety BUT majority of the rolls had imitation crab in it and the sashimi on top did not feel and taste fresh., I have no complaints on the service. Kids buffet by the way is regular price.

The 2 stars is for the waitress who was very friendly and for the free green tea ice cream with Unilocal check in. We decided to do a la cart and started with an order of the TNT roll and the Cajun roll thinking we’ll order more if it’s good. Sadly, we left after those two as it was very underwhelming. The rolls were also tiny which I’m assuming is due to the all you can eat option, but considering we were ordering a la cart and paying per roll, it should’ve been of normal sized. We were super disappointed in the food but were extremely relieved that we didn’t opt for the AYCE option. Sadly, we won’t be back.

Great service and even better sushi! It’s perfectly quaint for having the option of all-you-can-eat and the rolls come out in a timely manner. The staff is friendly and it’s nice being able to have frequent conversations with the owner. There’s passion in this sushi bar and it’s s definitely shown through its quality.

Stuck between ¾ stars. Environment: Is this really a restaurant? Wow, it is very tight and small. I wish its just a bit bigger. Ok, just remembered, i had to run to Jersey Mikes to do a #1. Not cool. How do u expect me to fully enjoy if i have to run across haha. Service: team is great, chef is friendly and always greet, waitress is also cool and nice! Made sure I got everything I needed. Parking: omg. it sucks in this plaza, they have 2 designated parking and all the parking next to them are other businesses. Overall parking plaza parking is usually pretty full as well. Makes it a little difficult for me to park and eat… Price: its not bad. close to home, decent price for AYCE Food: its fair. I don’t have a problem NOR gotten sick yet. LOL They allow you to order UNI once, not bad. sweet shrimp once, cool! overall 3 because… of no restroom issue, small place and parking.

Rainbow Roll — fresh fish — generous portions — recommended Shrimp Tempura Roll — a little smaller — loved the shrimp inside the roll — good but not a must Cajun Albacore — very different — albacore marinated in cajun flavor — loved the smokey-ness — highly recommended, at least to try

Damn Sake Roll!!! Back at it again with the awesome Sushi!!! Seems like every time we come, we’re always happy with them. A little sad that Bob left but hey, on to new begginings for him as well! My last review read that this was an Authentic Japanese Sushi Bar but to be completely honest, I’ve never been to Japan, sorry. But that still doesn’t change the fact that this place and everyone that works here is awesome!!! During my latest trip we got to try some new items from their new updated menu. Good stuff bruh!!! Come take a seat at the bar and you’ll see my point of view.

Stopped by for a small lunch and ended up just going with the All You Can Eat option($ 20.99) because I couldn’t resist. The restaurant it self is pretty small. Seating only 22 people. AYCE includes your basic rolls, specialty rolls, nigiri, appetizers, hot plates(i.e. Chicken teriyaki) and dessert. The tempura appetizer was a little disappointing but the sushi makes up for it. The salmon here tastes very fresh and they give generous cuts on the nigiri. I’d say it’s a must have here! Overall great sushi with a friendly staff. I’m definitely coming back.

Very small space, but great service and really good quality sushi. I also enjoyed their large selection of eel based rolls in the AYCE menu, as well as their presentation of dishes, which was quite nice. The Spiderman Roll and the Sake Roll were very good. I also really enjoyed the salmon sushi! The Lunch AYCE price is pretty affordable at $ 21, but again space is limited so plan accordingly. Stay Cheerful ;)

One of my favorite ayce sushi spots. It’s a super tiny spot, their biggest table fits around 6. The one thing I’m always scared of when eating ayce sushi is the quality of the raw fish. This place uses some fresh sashimi for their sushi. And all of their specialty rolls are unique and delicious. And a lot of them are deep fried on the outside which makes it even more delicious. Definitely a must try.

Sadly, this will be my last time here. I recently found out that I am highly allergic to sushi, but believe me, I had a great run(or should I say«eat»?) at this place. This will be truly missed for they have all the delicious rolls that anyone could ask for. Their staff is always nice and super welcoming and makes you feel like you’re at home. The food is beautiful, I’ve never came here when I didn’t like the food. Tho they can improve by having more space(or ATLEAST a bathroom) for Heaven’s sake! I loved this place so much. It tears me to not come back, but after all, you can’t live if you can’t breathe. Food allergies suck, but I wouldn’t want my last time to be with any other sushi place.

This is a little hole in the wall. The restaurant is not very big and only sits about 15 people. They have all you can eat sushi for $ 26 but you can also order individual rolls. The sushi is very fresh and delicious. The sushi chefs take their time making the sushi as you can see from the presentation. Definitely Instagram worthy. The staff are very friendly and provide great service. The only negative about the restaurant is that they done have a restroom so make sure you go somewhere else beforehand.

Delightful little place! We wandered in, random, and knew in the first few minutes we would wander back. AYCE is $ 20 or so, which is good if each person can eat 3 rolls. I can! This stuff just disappears. But on this day, 3 of us selected 1 roll each off the menu. Fresh and tasty, and our hostess was such a sweet girl. From Alhambra she said. The owner is the chef. Hey, chef!

We’ve been here twice for AYCE(dinner & lunch). Both times were kind of average. The server is really friendly, but only one person so service can be kind of slow. AYCE is a good option at Sake because they have a good variety of nigiri, rolls and standard Japanese-y appetizers. Why only three stars? Partly because of the time you have to spend dining even though it’s a 90 minute AYCE time limit. You almost are there longer because of the wait time for courses and your check. Most of the raw fish were of decent quality and the ratio of fish to rice was a good proportion.

Delicious sushi and friendly staff. What more can you want? I’ve been to Sake Roll several times and every time I leave with my sushi cravings taken care of. The fish is fresh and of excellent quality. Some of my favorites: –Their salmon nigiri(their salmon is from Scotland and will literally melt in your mouth) –Mackerel nigiri(from Japan and soooo flavorful) –Caterpillar Roll –Spider-Man Roll –Salmon skin hand roll(thought I died and went to heaven when I bit into this baby) –Their albacore nigiri

I think Sake Roll Sushi Bar is one of the best AYCE(all-you-can-eat) sushi bar in the Southern California for one reason alone — ULTRA fresh fishes(the freshest fishes I’ve had from an AYCE sushi bar). AYCE sushi is $ 20.99 for lunch and $ 26.99 for dinner. The only difference between lunch & dinner is that amaebi(sweet shrimp) and uni(sea urchin) are only available for the dinner set. If you don’t want AYCE, then you can also order each item based on a la carte price. AYCE comes with 7 appetizers(shumai is actually not available even though it is listed on the menu), miso soup, 3 salads, 22 regular rolls, 22 specialty rolls, 17 nigiri sushi(plus sweet shrimp and sea urchin for dinner only), and 7 hand rolls. No sashimi for AYCE. Rules: * One hour time limit(our group didn’t feel rushed because the sushi joint was empty — I think we slightly exceeded the time limit and the staff didn’t really care) * Leftover will be charged as a la carte price(that includes no rice leftover) * Amaebi(sweet shrimp) and uni(sea urchin) — maximum of one order for each person * 18% gratuity for a group of 4 or more Pros: * Unrivaled fish quality for an AYCE sushi bar — I am still in shock on how fresh and fatty these fishes were. I am not sure where Sake Roll Sushi Bar found these fishes, but this is the type of quality you can taste * Good appetizers, miso soup, and nigiri * Friendly service Cons: * Tiny restaurant — this is an ideal restaurant for a party of 4 or less * No restroom * I know this is an AYCE and I could just order what I want again, but the staff did missed some of my orders(e.g. missed my fresh water eel on 1st round, gave us additional miso soup on 2nd round, and missed unagi hand roll on 3rd round) * Somewhat slow service because only one person handled and served all the food orders * Regular rolls & specialty rolls were hits and misses * This might be a pro for others, but you won’t find a hidden layer of wasabi for all nigiri(you’ll need to smear your own wasabi) *** Excellent: Green tea ice cream, Dynamite(an appetizer — basically dynamite roll in a bowl — California roll + crab), salmon nigiri(from Scotland, so fatty), red snapper nigiri, uni(sea urchin) nigiri(MUSTGET — SUPERFRESH), Cajun albacore nigiri(from Canada — unique flavor) Decent: Spicy tuna hand roll, Glendora Rolls, miso soup, garlic tuna nigiri, unagi(fresh water eel) nigiri, amaebi nigiri(sweet shrimp) Avoid: Unagi Rolls(fresh water eel w/avocado, eel sauce) *** There were some minor service issues and their AYCE dinner is slightly pricier than most other AYCE sushi joints, but even these kinks aren’t enough from stopping me giving a 5 stars thanks to their fresh fishes. I personally will rank Sake Roll Sushi Bar first, Sushi Show second, AYCE Sushi third, and Crazy Mike’s Sushi last.
