Waffle House

Not the best waitress this time but the food is always consistent. Good food, good people, and an overall enjoyable experience. I’ll continue to come back, I’ve been here at least 20 times. You’ll know when I stop eating here. Until then, I recommend it!

Awesome service everytime! Staff is ALWAYS friendly no matter the shift. This is the only waffle house I will visit!

Went late on Christmas and they were packed. Very nice and efficient staff, restaurant was clean especially for being so busy. The waitress actually apologized for taking a long time, even though it didn’t. Good job.

Basically, order the exact OPPOSITE of what you want and you might end up with what you wanted to order in the first place. Not one person in my group got even half of their orders right. I can’t even count on one hand how many things were wrong between the whole THREE of us… and, no, it wasn’t because the place was busy or anything – we were one of a whole TWO tables of people in the whole place (and, judging by our experience, the lack of customers makes sense).
The cashier begged us to give the place another chance after this. The thing is, this WAS the «another chance» after the LAST time we had awful service at this location. We went there twice a handful of years ago and the service was absolutely terrible then, too. We figured MAYBE the management had changed in that time and perhaps the service would be better now. NOPE.
Three strikes, you’re out. We’re DONE with this location. It’s really sad to see a WH be so awful, because they’re USUALLY a place you can rely on to be pretty decent.

Motherfucker you know what Waffle House is. You know what it entails’. But, here’s my experience. Of course I got the all American special, you gotta get that shit with hashbrowns and them eggs scrambled or just commit suicide. Also I happened to get the 2 $ burger that was well worth the money, especially with some extravagant hash browns. I’ve included a picture, you tell me if its worth it. Finally the service, our waiter was super duper nice he just needed to feel a little more comfortable with his motions. It was obviously one of his first days and he was nervous, but he handled it very well. A few more shifts there and im sure he’ll be a pro.

Went around 1:00 and of course there were a few people in there. Only two people working in the restaurant. Our waitress name was Laquetta. She was the sweetest late night waitress I had ever met. Was very shocked. Checked on us quite a bit through out the night.
Food was great. She made gravy from scratch and it was delicious! Had my hash brown smothered and covered! I recommend it to everybody!

This particular Waffle House, WORST service ever… I will never return to this one. Porsche the waitress was a total scatter brain, not busy at all, talking to some lady at the counter instead of serving others, just all the way around awful.

Service was good, & food was very good. My waffle could have been cooked a little longer, but that is okay. I really enjoyed my meal.

The waffle house is by far one of the most consistent restaurants. The service is consistent. The food is consistent. And for that consistency people should appreciate it for what it is.
Is it a fine dining establishment? No. It’s a diner by all definitions. You can sit, have a conversation, a cup of coffee and watch them make your food. No possibility for funny business.
These are all of the reasons that I will eat at the Waffle House at least once every couple of months.
It’s about expectations people. Don’t expect white table cloth dining here. Know what you are getting. Consistency.

Definitely a solid 3 stars. Waited a little while for a table to get cleaned but every employee seemed pretty busy. The server was very friendly and we got a lot of attention even though they were busy. I got the all star breakfast and it was delicious. Worth a try after a late night.

The service is definitely the highlight. Plenty of refills, no rush, and lots of «sweethearts.» All it took was a few times coming in at off-​houses and the staff started to recognize me. Very hospitable every time I’ve stopped by and they look like they get along well with each other too.
Unfortunately, there are some issues. The floor seems to be perpetually in a state of stickiness and the bathrooms could probably use a bit more frequent cleaning. The locks on the bathroom door don’t seem to work that well (or the customers using them don’t seem to bother with using them!).
Overall though, you know what you’re getting with a WaHo and most of the time it’s the right price and an excessive amount of grease. It’s also one of the few 24-​hour places in this part of Memphis, so it tends to get crowded in the evening with the returning bar crowd.
Tip: avoid breakfast on the weekends and instead hit this place on the weekdays if you want to get more individual attention.

Another lesson in the Art/​Science of Expectation Management
Do you like piles of low cost greasy slop? If not, don’t go to Waffle House and you won’t have a bad time. If you do, keep reading. I for one, am a fan of slop; from mushes to mashes, curries to chili, I love it all. Waffle House is a great spot to explore your slop fetishes, where you can utilize their hashbrowns to be the transport medium for an array of toppings. My favorite combo has been; chili, gravy, cheese, ham, onions, and peppers.
It really is magical when gravy and chili can unite in sloppy harmony. To go along with this light side order, I tried for the first time an omelet from the House. But not just any omelet, a cheese steak omelet, and let me tell you, that was a damn fine omelet.
Not only was it the lightest and fluffiest omelet I’ve had in ages (maybe even ever), the slices of steak were thin and tender, and the cheese was melty and delicious. I don’t care how unnatural the ingredients may have been because they produced one hell of an omelet.
Maybe I wouldn’t like Waffle House as much if they had them in California, but it’s still a treat for me and I’m never disappointed.

Believe it or not, since I have moved to Memphis, I have not been to Waffle House. The other day for «breakfast», my roomie was driving and took me to one– my first one I have been to in all of TN.
When we got there, the floor looked like a septic tank overflowed (I wouldn’t walk in here with open toe shoes, or nice shoes at that!) — but isn’t that the ambiance of the Waffle House?
I didn’t even look at the menu– I just ordered my usual Vanilla Coke, Texas bacon cheesesteak, and large hashbrowns all the way. I took a picture of it, it was clutch. My arteries are still paying the price though.
2 nights ago after I may or not have just left the Cove, I needed some food, stat. I knew Waffle House would be open, so I decided to go there. I ordered the same thing, and she said the gravy wasn’t ready, but gave me a bowl of chili to put on top. Never had that happen before. It was decent, but I really wanted that extra heart clogging gravy.
When I got the bill, I was dumbfounded that the bill was $ 17.01. I was too tired to say anything, but I mean seriously? I remember the whole reason to go to Waffle House was to eat a meal under $ 10 – 15. Hell, I could have eaten another identical plate!
I could only imagine how much they charge for waffles now…
Anyways, it is good to know there is another 24HR food place around, just do a better job keeping that floor clean!
PS– no sign in the bathroom about telling employees to wash their hands before work!

Rude staff and small location. Wouldn’t waste my time.

This was my first experience at a Waffle House, and I went in expecting it would be like every other chain diner-​ish type place: cheap, fast, good-​but-​not-​great breakfast food served with bland coffee. Now I like my creative and memorable brunch spots, but I also have simple tastes and am perfectly happy with a greasy diner or diner-​ish type breakfast now and again.
So I ordered the All Star Breakfast, and it 100% matched my expectations. Eggs and bacon, perfectly done. Home fries, shredded and crispy but a little underdone in the middle. Biscuit, meh, no taste. Waffle, doughy but I enjoyed it. Coffee, bland.
The service? AWESOME. We were greeted with a friendly smile, and our server checked in often with refills. Food was prompt and fresh. I left happy and full and would definitely go back.

Was traveling late and was very tired and hungry. The restaurant was clean. I had the chopped sirloin. When it arrived it was a luke warm, frozen hamburger patty. The sirloin (and I use that word very loosely) was oversalted, and overcooked. It was about the size of a McDonalds patty. The hashbrowns were not cooked crispy and were undercooked in the middle. The toast and the salad was the best part of the meal. My server kept calling me hun, suger, etc… and had all kinds of buttons and a flower in her hat. What is wrong in just saying Miss? As I was leaving (in my car) I realized I had been overcharged for my meal. I think they should have paid me to eat it. Never ever again will I eat at a waffle house again.

Went here today and received excellent service. As soon as we sat down, a waitress was there ready to take our order. Our drinks were handed over promptly and our order was ready to be taken. Our waitress was really nice and once we entered, we were greeted by several workers. We watched as our food was prepared and was brought to us in a very timely manner. They had plenty of staff. Some were cooking and some were cleaning. All of the food was fresh, hot, and delicious. We tipped our waitress well and will return. I like this Waffle House.

When you go to a Waffle House at 2 am after being out at the bar all night, you know exactly what to expect. This place is great for a late night waffle, BLT, and an opportunity to recap the night with everyone! This particular Waffle House was clean, the waitresses were attentive and the food came out quickly and it was hot!

Went the other day. No one was in here except for us. Didn’t wear gloves to cook.
