Modern Nails

Horrible place. Don’t go! Save your nails.
I went last week and I asked for a new set of acrylics. Everything was going great until she made all my cuticles bleed and all my nails were crooked. I was so upset that I asked for my money back and they were rude and refused. Never again!

I first dropped into this little nail salon when I was getting ready for a job interview and needed a French manicure a few years ago, and have been a regular ever since (if by «regular» you mean I get a mani/​pedi done about once every six months, when my toenails threaten to poke through my sneakers!) I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m not into fancy nails, but I am a connoisseur of a good French manicure at a reasonable price, and this place is the best I’ve found in the entire Austin area since I moved here from LA almost five years ago. My mani pedi always looks great, lasts a long time and no bubbles or cracks. They never clip too close to my nails. The owners are very nice, and almost always offer me a discount card on future visits. This is my go-​to place from now on!

I went to Modern Mails a few years ago, and I still remember the experience there. My mom, sister, and I walked in and were immediately greeted with smiles. They were very prompt in helping us pick out nail polishes and sitting us in a chair. They have Tvs there, and of course the worst thing possible for an innocent 12 year old to watch came on. Khloe K. and Lamar. Immediate recognizing the problem with that, they accommodated us, and changed the channel. Later after our toes were done, a lady who I think might have been the owner or manager or something offered to give us extra designs on our toes for free. I don’t know if the just thought my sister and I were cute or something, but the point is that they were extremely nice to offer extra for free without out us asking. I had a great time with my mom and a sister, and the nice and generous staff made it better.
My mom also requested something more natural looking than a French tip. They knew exactly what she wanted even though she herself didn’t. They gave her what I believe to be an American tip, and she fell in love. Only complaint I have in that I must of had a cut on my toe because when anything touched my toes it would sting like crazy. I only hope that the guy who was doing my toes didn’t do that. Of course, even though my skin was open, I didn’t get an infection, so that proves that they are a clean facility.

I am not from this area but having a uncle in Georgetown.
Every time I visit him I stop by Modern Nail getting my nails done.
What a small, fairly clean and affordable place!
