Cliffnote’s review: Its a sports bar… with pretty good food. Our waitress couldn’t answer Qs on the menu but it is what it is. Philly Cheese Steaks, onion rings, drinks, house made potato chips. It was just fine.

Galvin’s has an excellent variety of food on their menu and has something for everyone. I have had many items and every one has been excellent; addicted to the potato poppers! The beer selection is great too!

Yum! Don’t come for a dinner you plan to talk… it’s a bar, but okay for kids. Drink locally. Eat the jalapeño poppers and buffalo dip. Pizza looks amazing too

This place looks interesting but was a bit of a letdown. It’s pretty, it’s loud and the food is pretty good. It was kinda pricey. We didn’t have the best waitress. We asked for the drink specials and was told they were, «two or three dollars». Okay, we’ll take the medium one. We asked what the soup special was, we were told it was white chicken chili… yesterday, then stood there staring at us as if we could make a decision based on what the soup was yesterday. We asked a second time but she forgot to check finally found out it was just chicken noodle. They have these awesome potato sticks on the appetizer menu, they are unique and tasty. You can dip them in ranch or sour cream, both were good. The spinach and artichoke dip was really good too. Philly steak Stromboli was pretty good. It takes 25 min. to cook as stated in the menu and I was also reminded by the waitress before ordering. We were eating appetizers anyway, what’s 25 min. It was pretty much like a calzone but juice was dripping out everywhere making the outside very soggy. My husband got the meaty stombolli, he felt very sick after. My daughter got this huge beautiful burger but she didn’t find it tasty. She ended up dissecting it only eating bits of it. I’d probably visit this place again hoping for a better experience but it’s so far from home. This place would be perfect for watching sports!

Excellent!!! Great beer selection! Very friendly service! Wide variety on the menu. My wife and I love the bufaletta. Amazing Reuben! One Thursday a month they do a pint night with a special beer and you get to keep the glass. Great hometown ownership.

Chose to pick/up Reuben and take it back to Hotel. Good service, and friendly. $ 2.00 draft beer, while waiting. Quick take out at at the bar. Portion– Reuben was great, not too oily, but moist and meat was tender with perfect portion of sauerkraut. The bread tasted freshly baked, and went perfectly with the sandwich. I added the onion rings, and they were a larger portion, perfectly prepared. This was a Thursday that I was here, and they were getting packed by 6:00 p m. Will try Muffuletta if I get another opportunity to eat at Galvin’s.

Food was great and atmosphere was wonderful. Little things dropped the rating. Things like the server was a little distracted. Perhaps a one time event. The food was amazing. Though the server couldn’t name the beers on tap(she wasn’t new, I asked) they were good.

This place is awesome. A great beer selection on tap, good wings and a Rueban that is slap your momma good. Cool place to hang at the bar and meet new people, or have a quick bite for lunch. Well be back, as it is quickly becoming our go to place since we moved up here.

Food is good. Your best bet is to not ever go here with plans to be somewhere else on time. Went here for lunch with my wife and her coworkers, ended up canceling my order and going back to work with a rumbly in my tumbly.

This is a restaurant that I can honestly say, I’ve never had a bad experience with! The food is always on point– whether it be the dagwood, the pizza or those amazing jalapeño poppers! The service is always speedy and courteous, even when they are slammed– and, trust me, they do get slammed! They always have a decent beer selection and the atmosphere is great. It’s definitely a place where you can bring the family to eat, after church, or come to hang out with friends, during a basketball game! If you’re ever in Georgetown, looking for a place to eat, this is it!

This place is what it is. Pub/bar food. Frozen fries, chicken finger salads on iceberg, dressings from a jar. Servers are usually inattentive at best. If you want a loud place to watch sports and drink your over-priced beer, this is it, unless you’re on the other side of town. Then you can hit the Applebee’s. They have better food.

Galvan’s has a very welcoming atmosphere where you can sit back and enjoy the company of a good friend or your family as well as take in your favorite sporting event on one of many televisions throughout the restaurant. The service is excellent and very friendly. The food came out fresh and hot and the aroma was mouth watering. My wife had the Reuben sandwich while our daughter and myself tried the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Both were served with a generous helping of home made potato chips. I was able to try the Reuben as well as my own and both were delicious and the mixture of beef and sauce on the Philly and sour kraut were done to perfection. I highly recommend Galvin’s for your next night out!

This is GREAT!!! They made us feel right at home. The service is awesome. The chicken wings were some of the best I have ever had. The bacon cheeseburger was a perfect size, and tasted great. My mom had the reuben sandwich, and she really liked it. The Kentucky Ale has a nice smooth taste, and it also goes perfectly with the wings!!! It has a bar feel, but it is also very family friendly. Lots of tv’s to watch sports. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. No brainer it is a must visit if your are in the area!!!

We are staying in Georgetown for a family vacation. We enjoyed dinner at Galvins the very first night. They had a good selection of different Pub type food. My husband and Father in law enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger very much. My mother in law said the Ruben was also very good. The buffalo wings were delicious. They were kinda sweet with a little heat. They were good with their ranch sauce and hubby liked the blue cheese. We also enjoyed the homemade potato chips which were very good. There was a small kids menu, but we chose to share our food with our son. The service was good and so was the atmosphere. Wish we could give it more than 5 stars!

This place is great! The staff is super friendly. There are a ton of televisions. The prices are very reasonable and its in a cool location in downtown Georgetown. I would recommend that you check this place out. Why not five stars? I feel like the interior could be updated but don’t let that stop you from checking it out!

Wings are delicious and the beer is spot on. Autumn, the server was the best and her recommendations were a bullseye. The wing sauce was unique and had just the right amount of twang, indeed.

Had a great grilled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. Very good. It was a friendly staff and a very clean and nice atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone in the area wanting a nice place to eat that is not a chain.

Unilocal helped me find Galvin’s on a recent business trip through KY. So it is only appropriate to post a review of my own. Menu is straightforward — sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups, made-to-order pizza and calzones. I had a cup of tortilla soup — which was not prepared in the traditional way with a chicken-based broth, avacado, chips and pulled chicken. Nonetheless, it was homey and delicious. I also had their chicken salad salad with grapes and dried cranberries. The negative was the heavy use of iceberg lettuce. But the serving size and balance of veggie to meat was perfect. The waitstaff were all friendly and welcoming. There are TVs over the bar, so if you want to watch the game, you certainly can. The vibe was family friendly and people seemed to know each other pretty well. Kids walked(sometimes ran) between tables. Prices are completely reasonable. Only con: when a burger is on the menu, I am going to want fries(not chips).
