Amazing inexpensive Shakespeare, right here in downtown Garden Grove, CA of The OC. I have seen super star Hollywood actors plus actresses perform a radio show here. Then we went to their phenomenal production of William Shakespeare’s Midsummer’s Night Dream featuring a local OC-based Thaitian dance troupe. Pluses: An abundance of FREE Parking! They only have a very small dedicated parking lot. But no worries. You can readily park on the street for free all right within 1 block of the theater. Bring a picnic lunch and get here early. You can spread out and enjoy it on the grass of the park which is right outside of the theater. They sell beer, wine, and soda. Bring some singles with you. You won’t be disappointed.

4.5 stars just because it’s an outdoor theater that’s situated near a park(distracting due to the noises outside, but certainly no fault of theirs) Very intimate theater, all seats in the house are great. The organizers are friendly, accommodating and really helped my friends and I feel welcome. There was none of the hoity toity stuff going on. Also there were a couple pre-show acts which were bonuses to the experience. Main show: Went to see Made in Taiwan with Michelle Krusiec, which was both hilarious and touching — and extremely relatable! Due to the intimacy of the house, we had the opportunity to ask her questions after her performance too. If you have a tiger mom or know one, this is definitely your show! Overall an amazing experience and affordable too! Let’s get cultured, OC! Encore!

It’s that time of the year again… Shakespeare. My family has been enjoying the Garden Grove Shakespeare Festival for years. The outdoor amphitheater is the perfect place to watch this years performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We usually grab a bite to eat at The Globe before the show. Good times!
