Dr. John Lies was the nicest dentist I’ve seen. He made sure I understood what was going on, walked me through the process and asked if I was ok throughout the procedure. Root canals are not fun but if you need to have one I would definitely recommend you going to an Endodontist and Dr. John Lies is perfect if he is In-Network with your dental insurance.

So I came here to Unilocal in order to write a review for Dr. John M Lies DDS(Endodontist). I find 2 different reviews slamming Dr. John Lies. From what I read, the 2 reviews have ABSOLUTELYNOTHING to do with the quality or caliber of work that he has performed. Only complaints about insurance not covering this or that and overpriced fees, yada yada yada. I won’t pretend to know the surrounding circumstances of the other previous 2 individuals, however I know this: It’s YOUROWN responsibility to check and verify the following: — Whether the Dr. is in your network or not. Keep in mind, just because they take your insurance does not necessarily mean that they are in fact ‘in network’. — It’s UPTOYOU to call your insurance and verify the % of coverage. Keep in mind that some Dental/Endodontic/Oral Surgical procedures are covered under Medical insurance, rather than your typical Dental insurance. Someone complained about a stupid $ 90 Fee? Seriously? Really? Sheesh! ==================================================== Here’s an honest and accurate review about the man that just saved me from excruciating pain hours ago: Long story short: I had a root canal done about 2 years ago. I went to a very prominent Endodontist in South Orange County. Although I now have plenty to write about said Endodontist, I won’t for now. Anyway, both my wife and I had our Root Canals done by this individual. Almost 2 years later, both my wife and I are having pain in the same tooth where the Root Canals took place. In my case, the Crown actually broke away from the tooth which is very rare. A few days ago, I began having pain in that tooth. The pain has been increasing in strength over the last few days and today, it was horrible, My Dentist came in and took me as an emergency appointment earlier today and after examining me, he said that I needed to be seen by an Endodontist ASAP. Fortunately, Dr. John Lies’ office was open and they took me in within a half hour of being called by my Dentist. He discovered that the South Orange County Endodontist, failed to use a microscope during my Root Canal, and actually missed one of the 4 microscopic canals in my upper molar, that still had the nerve. By now, I had a horrific infection and the pain was excruciating. He handled my pain with the caliber of a professional and with extreme concern for my pain and sensitivity He also was explaining everything that was taking place, every step of the way. If you’re looking for a cheap Dentist or Endodontist, go HMO or have fun on the new Obama Care website. Otherwise, you get what you pay for. As a married man with 3 kids, I’m always looking for a deal and have even camped out with my wife ‘overnight’ for a Black Friday special. However, when it comes to the following: — Medical/Dental/Vision Doctors — Attorneys/Tax Specialists/CPAs NEVER just ‘go for the deal’. Trust me, I’ve learned the hard way. JE

I had a horrible experience with this business. It was so overpriced, my insurance was even shocked to see me charged 3X the normal amount for the procedure. I wish the RUDE receptionist actually cared enough to properly check with my insurance about how much I was covered for. I guess she didn’t and just threw out an incorrect amount at me(the second incorrect amount she«quoted» me). You bet I was surprised to get another check in the mail for another $ 300 dollars after I supposedly already paid my 50% of the procedure(I was told that my insurance would cover 50%). Yea, if the amount charged for the procedure was billed at a normal rate. So, nothing bad to say about the doctor or the work itself, but by all means, go here if you don’t mind paying to send the doctor and staff on their next vacation. Trust me, look elsewhere and pay a reasonable amount for your dental work. I will NOT be back.
