3 friends and I booked Glenn a few weeks ago for a Saturday morning guide. This was our first time booking «The Hammer» and he was great. He worked hard and drove us all over the bay to his different spots until we hit the right spot. He was entertaining and patient with a couple of the guys who weren’t experienced in saltwater fishing. He has a couple rules he enforces (like don’t slam the cooler lid) but they were all to help us catch fish. By lunchtime we all caught a lot of fish and had a great time. We will definitely book him again next time we are down there.

Our fishing trip with Captain Glenn was awesome! One of my friends told Captain Glenn he wanted to catch a red fish, and he made sure he did! We caught speckled trout, sand trout, flounder and one red. We had a great time fishing, joking around and he even played some Merle Haggard for us. I would highly recommend Captain Glenn and Coastal Connections Guide Service.

We had a great time today with Capt. Glenn Hammond. My granddaughter was born on 4÷20÷15 with an original due date of 8÷1÷15. She was 1.3oz at birth. Today 7÷18÷15 she is 4 lbs 7oz and a week or so from going home. My son and daughter in law have been at the NICU every day since April. Since today was the baby shower, I decided it was time to take my son fishing. Glenn came highly recommended by a family friend.
With all of the flood waters flowing into the gulf the past two months, our expectations were low. Today was about having a «boys» day, not catching our limit.
Glenn had taken another group out earlier in the day. He was hot and he was tired. But he was the best fishing guide any of us had ever been with. He knew the spots, he knew what methods would work and we caught fish. I use to fish a lot when I was younger, but I haven’t held a pole in 15 years.
If you want to catch fish, are willing to take expert advice and have a good time, I highly recommend calling Capt. Glenn.

I did not go with Mr. Hammond on a fishing trip. However, I will say that one very rare day I went to Galveston with my mother and my two nephews for a rare glimpse of Surfside beach; we live in Houston and my nephews are from Germany. Anyway, we reached the little two lane road on the way to the beach, and something punctured my car tire. Mr. Hammond saw us and removed the flat tire and replaced it with a spare tire. He also directed us to a place where we were able to get a replacement tire, just in time before the store closed. I really appreciate his kindness, as we were able to spend a few hours enjoying the beauty of the beach before we had to go back home. Thanks so much for helping a stranger in need.

My Father-​In-​Law surprised me and my fishing fanatic 5 year old son with a guided fishing trip out of San Luis Pass (outside of Surside) today. My FIL stated that Captain Glenn came highly recommended and was said to be great with kids. Glenn Hammond did put us on some hot fishing. WE DID CATCH FISH. HOWEVER, despite the hot action, the over all trip left a very bad taste in my mouth. My son is a hard core fisherman and has been fishing with me two or three times a week for the past year and a half. He has exceptional patience and endurance for fishing. He is particular about hooking and reelling in his fish. At one point, Captain Glenn pulled the rod from my son’s hands to set the hook and then tried to hand the rod back to my son. My son did not want to real in a fish he didn’t set and became upset. Glenn said «Oh come on, you are crying like a little girl». I defended my son and explained that he wanted to set the hook himself. At this point, Glenn said that kids don’t have patience in their vocabulary and «that’s it, from now on, I am going to have a minimum age for kids fishing». It would have been bad enough had he only yelled at my son, but he also yelled, scolded and berated my FIL (novice fisherman) and myself multiple times for bad casts, helping ourselves to the bait or not keeping our rod tips up when reeling in fish. The presence of my son as well as the fact that my FIL was treating for the trip kept me from giving him a piece of my mind. I suspect that all of his return customers just put up with the bad attitude to catch fish. We have hired fishing guides in the past that are excellent. I would not recommend Glenn Hammond’s fishing guied service to anyone.
