The more I think about our experience last night the more disappointed I become. It’s a burger place, I get it… but their menu should hold up so that non-burger eaters have something they can be happy about especially at those prices. The Mrs. and I ordered two beers to start. I had the Nitro Stout(at $ 6) and apparently the bar staff doesn’t know how to pour a stout without a head the size of Belfast. I ordered another after our food arrived… same thing. Now for the food. For $ 10 per order of fish and chips, we were anticipating more than two skinny strips of fish, a below average helping of lukewarm fries where a third were the tiny broken bits from the bottom of the basket and a tiny serving of coleslaw. Now factor in the subpar service and we walked out of there feeling ripped off.

I have only been here once but I had a MASSIVE fried fish sandwich with fries that necessitated that I not eat it sandwich-style. I would’ve expected that large a portion of fish on an entrée, not necessarily a sandwich so I was pleased that the portion was large enough that I almost couldn’t finish it. The beer list is good as well, I was able to get a cider which is not always a possibility even when they’re listed on a menu. The service was good and the location meant that we nearly had the place to ourselves for an early dinner.

Loosey’s Market Square fills in a need in this far-west part of town, as unless you go to downtown Haile or up to around the Oaks Mall, there isn’t so much to eat around here. Not that Haile Towne Centre or whatever it’s called is very far, but this is close to the Publix and the northern Haile homes and other homes. It’s also close to where I practice soccer, so that’s how I wound up here. Inside, it’s a typical bar – the interior reminded me of pretty generic bars, even like a Ruby Tuesday or something, as it was dark, lots of dark wood, vintage movie posters(they do get points for having some from creature features though at least) and just a pleasing yet not distinct environment. The bartender was friendly and seemed also to know his stuff. A guitarist was setting up and despite being a Monday, it appeared they’d soon have live music for the night. I ordered the ahi tuna and an old fashioned. The tuna was a fairly small portion but high-quality and for $ 12 was probably a fair price but did seem small, though tasty. The old fashioned was well-made and the bartender was keenly interested in making certain I liked it and it was made as I wished, since there is ample variation possible on this drink. The rest of the menu looked interesting, diverse, and offered some actual bar snacks – boiled peanuts, fried pork rinds, popcorn shrimp – which is very welcome to me because you rarely see non-meal bona fide bar snacks even on bar menus any more. They have burgers, a pasta or two, salads, and fish n chips as well. Certainly a place I’ll come back to, because while not greatly innovative it seems they’re a class act and have some good food.

Can’t get better than this for a laid-back, but very cool neighborhood joint. Nice atmosphere, bar is beautiful and great for hanging and drinking with friends, and food is really great! Live music on weekends(check schedule) is a bonus! Our favorites are — well, burgers! They are flavorful and spot on every time, with oh-so-many toppings to mix and match! Then there’s Two-Bite Tacos, Fish & Chips and the Burrito Bowl. They have great snacks if you’re eating light, fresh salads and to top off your meal … the best Brownie Sundae around! This one’s a keeper!

Well, I’ve got a lot of free time right now… See my prior review if you want to know why. My water closet needs new paint. But now on to LOOSEY’S!!! A place that doesn’t give me the runs or make my stomach feel like it’s being wrung out by a large German woman named Helga. I rather like Loosey’s food. Their daily menu can be hit or miss though. I love the lobster roll appetizer, the Cajun boiled peanuts and wings. Burgers are great with many tasty topping choices(for a price). Beef can get over done in the fancy burrito bowl so tell them you want it medium rare. They have ½ price wine on Sunday’s and the Veggie burger is meh. Good with the beef.

Stopped in for a quick dinner while driving from Alabama to Miami. Unilocal helped me find this spot, with outdoor seating(because we had the pup with us) and good reviews. Service was super friendly an attentive, I don’t remember her name, but she was a really awesome waitress. Food came out VERY quick ! which was great since we were looking to get back on the road, but wanted to eat something other than fast food. Also on Sunday’s they have ½ off bottles of wine which is awesome. We tried the fried mozzarella balls– these were really good! The lobster rolls were ok, the lobster you could tell was probably not the freshest. Salad was large and plentiful with a tasty dressing, the two bite tacos we’re yummy. All in all our meal was decent, wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but for something quick and 100x better than fast food or a chain restaurant(applebee’s olive garden etc). it is worth it. Oh, they also have corn hole and darts outside which is super fun and entertaining.

I really enjoy this restaurant. My family has dined at both locations numerous times, but this one is my favorite. The inside of the restaurant is cool. It has a comfortable neighborhood bar/restaurant feel. You have your choice of sitting on the bar side or just restaurant side, which is where we usually sit if we have our daughter in tow. There’s also a nice outdoor patio which is dog friendly. We’ve only brought our dog with us once, but the server brought out a bowl of water for her, which I thought was awesome! Now, onto the food! Fries here are a must. They are downright delicious, the best in town! We usually start off with a plate of fries as an appetizer. As far as entrees go, I always order the veggie burger. The veggie patties are made in house and have a great flavor and texture(they actually hold together, unlike other veggie burgers in town). If you’re vegan, this is an awesome option, just ask for no butter on the bun. The two-bite tacos are fantastic as well. I like the blackened tofu with guac, salsa and lettuce(see photo below). My husband always orders a burger. He says the burgers here are consistently good and he hasn’t been disappointed yet! Wednesday nights are burger night and it’s only $ 6 for a burger and fries, score! The kid’s menu is really good too. Really reasonable prices and a hearty amount of food! There are healthier kids options, like grilled chicken tenders and broccoli as well kid-favored fried chicken tenders, grilled cheese and burgers. The food and service is great, the atmosphere is comfortable, and you can bring your kids AND dogs. Loosey’s in Haile is my kind of place.

Went for dinner on a Friday night and was pleased that it wasn’t to busy. They had live music and that was good. We had the hamburgers with French fries and the brownie sundae for dessert. Everything was delicious! Definitely a relaxed atmosphere and we will be back!

The service was good but the food fell short of mediocre. This place has an overall 4 star rating but something went wrong with my visit. I believe Loosey’s does some things really good and is struggling in other areas. They certainly struggled on their dinner menu during my visit. Our waitress/server was kind/polite/sweet. She was four stars. There when we needed her and gone when we didn’t. Stick with the burgers and tacos. We didn’t but they looked really good as we saw them brought out to other patrons in the restaurant. The beer and drink menu is good. Our glasses never went empty. The ambience is simple and clean. Beer placards from different breweries and micro’s strewn throughout the restaurant. Its got a home town bar around the corner kind of vibe and definitely family freindly. My wife and I ordered the truffle cheese fries appetizer after reading other Unilocal reviews. They were sort of soggy. The cheese and spices were sort of clumped about. Neat dipping sauce though. They were good greasy bar food but didn’t make my expectations. My wife ordered the lemon thyme chicken. The chicken was grilled and seasoned nicely. The cheesy sliced potatoes were a fail. The potatoes were not cooked all the way and were a little tough from not being cooked properly. The cheese baked in them was virtually flavorless. The cheese on top of the dish looked old and tired. Whether it was old, heat lamped to death, refrigerated too long or whatever, their weariness shows in my picture. The broccoli looked great and was of generous portion. It was not cooked long enough either. It wasn’t crisp or crunchy. It was cold salad hard in the core. I ordered the parm crusted mahi with spicy diavolo. The mahi was good but not fresh and nothing really special. I personally liked the diavolo but it was VERY spicy. I’m a hot pepper/sauce nut. I took one bite and thought that unless you are a pepper person this way too spicy. There’s enough heat to stay with you for bit. I wasn’t much on the presentation. It looked like it had been dumped out of a square carton when plated. The bathroom was relatively clean above the floor. It had been a while since it was tended to because the trash bin was overflowing with paper towels. The floor hasn’t seen a good scrubbing in a while. I think it sees a quick dousing of dirty mop water once a day to respread the existing dirt. This is one of the few bathrooms in Gainesville that does not have a booger field on the wall above the urinal. Amazing! I hope you enjoyed the review and I thank you for your time. Do me a favor and click one of the buttons below and tell me what you thought.

Food was ok(but truffle fries were a little disappointing). Service, though was not at all good. They brought our entrees and then 4 minutes later brought our salad and our kids meal. Who does that?

This place is hard to find unless you’re familiar with Haile Plantation. The negative would be that it’s in an ugly strip mall with not much character inside. I had the Black Angus burger and it was amazing! The cheese truffle fries were also delicious. We will definitely be going back.

Visiting family from TX. Had to come try a burger on Wednesday night. The original locations kitchen was shut down with some problems so we came to the second location. Atmosphere was different with a 35 minute wait. My burger was ordered Medium And it was closer to Rare which was not pleasant for my liking. Service was quick once seated and the beer mustard for the fries were great. I will give the original location a chance as everyone said it is way better and doesn’t compare to this location.

WOW! Let me first say, that after coming here, I had to reevaluate all of my reviews to see they were really deserving of 5 stars because this place takes the cake! I came because I read the good reviews and didn’t want to cook. Man, did I pick the perfect night to come? I ordered an angus burger, with toppings, and later found out it was burger night! $ 6 burgers from $ 10. Then, they take pride in their beer of the month and I was absolutely blown away by their choice of a wheat Galic ale. It was exactly what the waitress said, «the epitome of Galic ale.» It’s only around now during June so give it a go while it’s still here! Now for the meal: I ordered the angus burger with just jalapenos and alioli garlic sauce and I could not believe the flavors coming from the burger! It was well-done, but still juicy and savory. I took small bites to enjoy it longer! You know the last time I took my time to enjoy I thought was delicious? Never. Ever. Ever. I’m the kind of guy who inhales his food whether it be good or bad. This burger is THE greatest burger I’ve eaten in Gainesville and I will need to reevaluate my life to see if I’m putting this as #1! Now the normal price for an angus burger starts at $ 10 plus additional for toppings and special condiments. Since this can get pricey for your awesomely made burger, come Wednesday when they have burgers starting at $ 6! I also ordered the truffle parmesan cheese fries and please let me tell you, it is soooooooooooo incredibly worth $ 1.50 more. I’ve had truffle parmasean cheese before but oh my dear gawd did this place take the cake! I could taste the truffle oil more in the fries and it wasn’t buried in cheese like I’ve had in other places. Dip these babies into the garlic alioli sauce and you will be just sit there and stare at the wall in amazement of how good they are! Now for the staff, they were amazingly friendly. I came by myself since my family flew out of town on vacation and the waitress was very entertaining. Even though she was waiting on other tables, she always made sure I was taken care of. This wasn’t special treatment because I would see her stop at the other tables frequently also! This is my favorite restaurant in Gainesville and it surprisingly edged out my old favorite which are Asian.(I’m Asian so I can’t help the flavor bias lol) But this American blew me away and I will come again for their specials! Monday wing special Taco Tuesday Burger Wednesdays

In town visiting for the Hogtown Craft Beer Festival and not feeling like trying to fight through the downtown scene, my friend and I headed down to Loosey’s Market Square for a near-perfect late night bite. The Space: 4 stars Inviting, quaint, and hip all at the same time. Separate seating areas depending on what suits your fancy: high-tops, booths, bar seating, and even outdoor seating on the patio. Lights were perfectly dim, tin beer signs and an assortment of cool clocks lined the wall, and the live music added to the ambiance. Booths could’ve been a little more comfortable and the fabric covering them was a little out of place, but that’s me being extra picky. The Grub: 5 stars No joke, one of the top five burgers I’ve ever had. SOGOOD! Bun was lightly buttered and perfectly crisp, burger was perfectly medium rare(by request) and JUICY. Added crisp bacon and the most phenomenal fried egg on top. Accompanied with truffle cheese fries and two dipping sauces: garlic aioli and a spicy/sweet sriracha mayo. My friend ordered the chicken Caesar salad(which she enjoyed) and we split the AK Shrimp appetizer to start, which was like a better version of Bonefish Grill’s Bang Bang Shrimp. I finished with the warm chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream for dessert which was just about the most perfect ending I could’ve imagined. The Grog: 5 stars Decent selection of good craft beers, including a couple of rotating selections, as well as wine and liquor. However, your best bet is picking something off of their in-house craft cocktail menu. I ordered their version of a Moscow Mule and it was easily one of the best I’ve had. The Service: 3 stars Ok, so it really wasn’t poor service at all, just not good service either. We were greeted right when we walked in and seated immediately. The server was attentive and gave recommendations when asked, but didn’t really go out of his way to offer anything or pick up on any cues(such as the fact that we were out of towners or that this was our first visit) to initiate additional conversation. Middle of the road in every way, but I want to stress it wasn’t «bad». Just kinda surprised with how great everything else was, the service was so middle of the road. The Conclusion: Go. Right now. Why aren’t you going yet?! Will definitely return on my next trip to Gainesville.

We were meeting family here, Nice location at the end of a shopping center. We were greeted at the door, the waitress was quick to get our drinks. I ordered a burger with cheese, mushrooms and onions with truffle fries. I was not disappointed! The burger was amazing, so full of flavor and not greasy at all! The truffle fries were really good, although a bit heavy, I had to force myself to stop eating them! I also got a mimosa, it was excellent, the orange juice was fresh squeezed(I found a seed in my drink) The atmosphere was nice and chill. I highly recommend checking this place out and get a burger!

I’ve been here a few times and am just getting around to writing a review after my recent visit. The first time i visited Loosey’s I was served the BEST seared tuna in town — but sadly took it off the menu. Maybe someone there will read my review and bring it back =) The second time I visited Loosey’s, I went with a friend for drinks and appetizers. There was an outstanding craft beer selection that included local beer and I tried the eggplant napolean, which was to die for even though I do not like eggplant… Service was fantastic and I intend to get there for a meal soon.

I wish I also had a photo of my burger, chicken wings, and fried mozzarella bites, all amazing. Loosey’s, which was formerly O! O! s and then round about, is located in the Haile publix plaza off of 91st. They offer specials from $ 6 wings(10) on monday to $ 6 burgers(beef only) on wednesday. The burger may just be the best sit down burger joint in town, and the wings are definitely some of the best in town. Also, make sure you try the truffle cheese fries with ranch. The burger is a huge portion, somewhere near ½ lb and comes with fries(handcut). The service here is good and consistent. They have a monthly beer special(3.50) that rotates and about 7 – 10 beers on tap. The drinks are nothing special but for the size and location they work well. I will continue to visit them on monday for their incredible wings(try the hot buffalo garlic) that are flash fried and finished on the grill for a great crispy texture(they also have trivia) and Wednesday for the burgers. They also have a daily happy hour with discounted drinks, check their website.
