Worst place we’ve ever been to. We left that place in 10 min. The place has homeless people camped outside, pretty crappy interiors. The food was even more terrible. Absolutely tasteless or should I say homogeneously tasting regardless of what the food was. We ordered chole poori… Took one bite and left it. Other order was for dinner thali. Rotis that came with it were made out of maida, Bhakri and thepla that we ordered separately were also pretty bland. In short. I would take away the 1 star if I could!

Got a packet of rotis, papdi chaat and samosa to go. The rotis are paper thin and soft. Other than that had a bad experience. The papdi chaat had powdered chili/masala that was so overpowering. No flavors of green and red chutneys. The yogurt was sour. The samosa was equally bad. Maybe it is the Gujarati version, but it didn’t taste a bit like regular samosa. The chutney, though good, came in the tiniest or containers and made it impossible to access.

I remember when this place was called Manju’s and we used to come here more than 25 years ago. Still very good authentic Gujarati food. Speedier service now and the basic thali has a couple of more items.

This review is only for the food and not the ambience; quite frankly, they aren’t a restaurant. It is a small shop where you get delicious home style food from Gujurat. And eat it too! Their lunch and dinner options are very affordable, served hot and fresh from the kitchen. We had the lunch that comes with 2 curries. The Roti’s(Phulka) are soft or you can have Poori just as good. The snack or farsan is tasty, we got the Dhokla. For an average price of 7 bucks, this is totally worth it. Now, you don’t get the fancy service or golden plates, but the satisfaction is priceless!

I just called them up before I was about to make an hour long drive and it turns out they were only open until 2:30 for lunch.

We ordered the usual Thalis here for lunch. I did not like the food one bit. It was bland and sweet in parts. My husband found it okay though. I think it is more to do with my taste palate. But I still feel that when they are serving to universal customers, they should balance the flavors much. I might not go there again.

Food — 5⁄5. I’ve eaten a lot of times here and the menu varies. It’s been really good 90% of the times. Cleanliness — 4⁄5. I didn’t get a look inside the kitchen though. Service — 4⁄5 Value for money — 5⁄5 Ambience — 3⁄5 It’s the best non fine-dine Indian restaurant in the Bay Area.

pros: — real homely food — good price cons: — bit sweet — hours are tight verdict: i love to go there to enjoy great gujarti thali and not have that post-indian-food-bloating like in other north indian resaturants

Really bad food taste wise. Service is not their forte but food is also disappointing. Samosa chat and dal dhokli cannot be worse.

We just went to pick up some chapatis and theplas from them based on the reviews i read here. But we ended up eating matar kachori gulab jamun and tea also. Food has authentic gujrati taste and its freshly made and tastes just like home. Its a small place with limited menu but evereything on their menu tastes wonderful.

Now I know I’ll love my future travel plans to India. If I had to become vegetarian, I’ll eat Krishna all the time. This place is 5 golden stars.

Love this place. Been here a few times and always feel like coming back for more. They have a limited menu but the food is more homemade-ish and authentic Gujarat than Jay Bharat. Also the atmosphere is nice. Fantastic food. The only reason to knock off a star is the seating. There is very little and it’s sort of cramped. Hard for parents with strollers to come in.

Best home made food and authentic Gujarat food in the bay area. I have tried almost every other place but none can come even close to the quality taste and authenticity of their food. We come here almost every other day. I would recommend everyone to try here once and I am sure they would come back again and again

Family run restaurant with an absence of any kind of deco… but the food here is a winner. Got the kachoris and the dahi vada, and both tasted like they were made at home. Fresh, good ingredients and decent flavoring. The price for both of this was $ 5 and I was very happy grabbin a snack here. Have heard excellent reviews on the thali, cant wait to go back. Service is friendly but the wait time is long.
