No better any other place. Dumplings so so. Tasted better and tasted worst. Place is tight and not comfortable. Surprisingly they play some jazzy music which is nice and different. Over all disappointed since friends recommended this place.

What a pleasant surprise! I love this place. I almost didn’t come here due to the mediocre Unilocal reviews, but my mother recommended it to me and said it was excellent. They give you a complimentary plate of sliced potatoes as an appetizer. This was tasty. I ordered the pork dumplings and the noodle soup(#34 — some sort of beef, shrimp, and mussels combo). The dumplings were very very good! The noodles were QQ and the soup was flavorful. They even give you a pair of scissors to cut the noodles. The restaurant is more spacious than it looks from the outside. The service is very friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. I’m definitely coming back here again. My new favorite Chinese restaurant in Fremont(now that Darda closed).

I like the free side dish they give you, it’s some kind of cold potato salad. The shanghai dumplings are quite good, wish it was slightly thinner dough, but the filling was a nice size. I wasn’t a huge fan of the stir fry noodle, but I did like the beef in the beef stew. It’s super lean and tender, just the way I like it. Service was a bit slow, it was sorta busy on a Sunday at noon, but wasn’t too bad. Overall, it’s an OK place, they have a bunch of Chinese food, it’s not a real Shanghainese restaurant.

Hand pulled noodles? Oh so good! One bowl can be shared by 2 ppl. Also order 1 of the pork XLB& you’re set to start your weekend right. Also to mention that it’s decently priced & attentive service!

We absolutely love this place. The service is good, the food is very tasty. We love how their noodles are actually hand pulled — it makes a big difference in texture/mouth feel. Their combination fried rice is a large portion with quality meat cuts. Unlike other Chinese places in town, their large portion size does not just mean a lot of rice. It is well balanced quantity-wise with vegetables and meat. Queenie and the staff are always so sweet. Aside from the food, she is absolutely a pleasure to speak with and one of the reasons why we always come back. She always comes by to say hi! We have brought all of our friends and family here and they all say the same thing: «We should come back to try [insert dish]!»

Their«Xiao Long Bao 小籠包» is very juicy and delicious. The dumpling skin is very thin and you can almost see the meet and its juicy inside. Moreover, juice inside the dumpling sure will explode in your mouth when you bite on it, so be careful and they are extremely hot. You have been warned, so don’t blame me if you burn your tongue. Price is above average, but well worth to give them a shot if you are around the hood.

The short: delicious place full of good Chinese/Taiwanese eats. This place used to be a Shanghai based place, and now Din Ding is here. They changed the layout so that all the family gatherings/large groups are in the back and the smaller groups are in the front(also where there’s better lighting). My grandparents like how they can catch a waiter’s attention(when sitting at a large table) because they’re so close to the kitchen. The potato salad appetizer that they served us on the house was very addicting and I had to force myself to stop eating it so I could share with others. Mmmm, the xiao long baos are very delicious. Probably my current favorite spot to get them.(They usually come out towards the end of the meal because of they have to make it, steam it, etc.) Also, they hand make their noodles for the beef noodle soup. The noodles are chewy and end up being very filling and delicious. Since I live so close, I can’t wait to come back for more!

Ring-a-ding-ding, I found my favorite new dim sum in Fremont! All my dreams went crumbling down when the Thai restaurant left this spot at the plaza, but now that I’ve had it I’m thinking this is an upgrade for my town! It’s the kind of dumpling house when you want to keep eating until you fall down! Bam! I used four consecutive sentences that ended in exclamation points. CHICKENCHOW uses a slightly thicker noodle than I’m used to, but even then, I nearly slurped my brains out. PORKLONGBAO is that soup bomb of a dumpling, so eat it while it’s hot. PORK-SHRIMP-EGGBUN fondly crumbled in my mouth, and the texture is as pleasurable as the taste. This isn’t the greatest dumpling house of my life. But as an essential Fremont entry, I had to garnish it with 5-stars. In fact, I like it so much I’m going to grab my sleeping bag and make this my second house. Late morning dumplings, afternoon dumplings, nightcap dumplings… I could see myself captivated by it at all times. #classiceats

Best Shanghai dumpling in South Bay; steam dumpling also best. Hand pull noodles are excellent!(Be careful when ordering chow mein; they used to use hand pull thin noodles for chow mein, but not today!) other noodle dishes are still excellent! Either the chef is out of town for the holidays or what… Both dumplings are not as good as those from 1 month ago’ experience.

3.5 stars but rounding up, since you get good amount of food for the price. I’m a huge fan of Xiao Long Bao/XLB, so had to check out this new place when I saw they opened in Fremont. I called my order in ahead of time, and it was almost ready when I got there. I had to wait another 5 – 10 minutes, so definitely don’t come early to pick up your order. It didn’t help that I came right around noon on a weekend, and they were really busy in the restaurant. We tried: –Zhajiang Noodle($ 8.95, ): Solid– the noodles were really good and the beef was seasoned well. Recommended! –Green Bean Cold Vermicelli($ 4.95) & Shrimp Pork Wonton in Spicy Sauce($ 7.50) [ : We asked for the vermicelli to be less spicy but it still had a good amount of heat. I liked the texture of the cold noodles, and you got a good amount for the price. The wontons in spicy sauce were also solid– I would order both dishes again. –Pork Xiao Long Bao(8 Pieces/$ 7.95, )): Pretty good, and I’m sure they would have tasted even better fresh. The dumplings were flavorful, and there was still soup inside– recommended! –Shrimp & Pork Dumpling($ 8.50, ): The only disappointing dish of the meal. The dumplings were too big, and they were on the bland side– skip! Overall, we had a good meal and would definitely get food to go from here again. I’m not sure I would want to battle it out with the crowds at the actual restaurant, but would like to try the XLB fresh at some point also. It seemed like the service would be on the slower side since they seemed understaffed when I was waiting for my food– people were running around like crazy. Parking here can be difficult since there are a lot of other restaurants/stores/laundermat in this plaza and they get busy.

Not bad for a place! They serve food, they look delicious, but one thing. It did not bug me though. One server, I don’t know their name, was looking at her smartphone, and talking to another server. They could’ve been doing something more helpful.

Seeing a new dumpling spot made me excited. We ordered a few but it wasn’t great. It felt like it was too thick and lacking flavor. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things but maybe we’ll try it when we’re bored and want to explore their menu a bit more. I’ll stick to King of Dumplings for my dumplings.

The fact that we’ve come here twice in less than a week at least tells me that we’re actually fans of this place. XLB(both regular and crab flavored) were consistently good, packed with tasty broth and meat, and had skin tough enough to be handled without leakage. Love the hand pulled noodles, whether in the beef noodle or in the dried zajiang noodles. Flavors were never overly salty– just right. The only«meh» dish we had was the pickled vegetable and fish noodle– didn’t have enough sour flavor as it should. It’s going to be a regular for my parents from here on out– wish we lived back in CA sometimes…

Tried out Din Ding Dumpling House in Fremont near the Smart & Final on Walnut Ave. Place opens for dinner at 5pm and since we were early went shopping at Smart & Final. When we finished we walked to the restaurant and I ordered 4 dishes. Pork crab XLB $ 8.95 — only 8 pieces. I thought they were really good. Thin skin, lots of pork meat, not sure I tasted the crab, I didn’t ask where the crabs from either. Fish dumplings $ 8.50 — 8pcs, tasted kinda blah, no good taste to them, they were steamed too. Spicy fish slices noodle $ 9.95 — noodles are really long here so ask for scissors. Fish didn’t have much taste, I still ate them. Tomato egg noodle $ 8.75 — same type of noodle, kinda soupy though suppose to be dry I thought. Sauce was sweet. Tomato and eggs were ok. You can use credit cards over $ 20. Our total was $ 39.60 before tip. Separate bathrooms in the back.

A very typical Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant. WARNING: Their noodle soups are super oily. My fiancé order a beef noodle soup, I ordered the spicy version. You can literally see a layer of oil sitting on top of the soup. SOUPDUMPLINGS(XLB) ~ 3.5 stats: Not bad. Decent size, good flavor and juicy. Only gripe is I’m pretty sure they’re store-bought. If the top of your XLB is slightly hard, chances are it was frozen. Wish they were handmade in-house. However, if you’re craving XLB, this place will satisfy your fix to a point. We tried a couple other dishes but I forgot what they were called. Everything but the soup noodles were pretty decent. We’d probably go back and pass on soup.

New dumpling house that was opened not long ago, literally right next to the Smart and Final Plus, where I’ve been shopping for my cake ingredients for a while. Northern China style hand rolled noodles(both dry and noodle soup dishes_and dumplings as well as xiao long bao. In terms of flavors, they opt for the lighter style, almost Kong Kong like style of dishes. When I am looking for a quick, cheap and light bites, it foots the bill. So far I’ve been here twice and tried their: Pork dumplings — compared to King of Dumplings in Fremont, their dumplings have slightly thinner skin, which is a plus to me. But it’s also not so thin like the mass processed frozen brand name dumplings skin you can find at Ranch 99 and the like, which more often than not would break when you boil them and the fillings would come out and break apart in the boiling liquid, which can be annoying. In terms of size, Ding Ding’s is slightly smaller than King of Dumplings. Therefore I can eat the whole plate in one sitting, which usually does not happen at the KOD. In terms of flavors, I like Ding Ding’s better as it is more seasoned then KOD. Pork and shrimp won ton soup — very light broth with substantial amount of won tons. I could have come in and ordered just this dish for lunch and been full. I ended up ordering more dumplings and ate everything though as I was hungry after hiking at the Mission Peak… Seaweed and bean curd appetizer — again, very lightly seasoned dish. It’s perfect in my book but for some you may need to add soy sauce or chili sauce depending on what you prefer. Zhazing(dry) noodles — substantial amount of thick, hand rolled noodles with generous amount of minced pork cooked in a salty sauce. This was a little too salty for me but the portion was huge and very filling. Cucumber and bean curd salad — another light cold dish; pretty substantial amount. Overall, prompt service, quick turnaround time, never too crowded or noisy, good and inexpensive Chinese food. I will return with my dumplings loving friends and try their beef noodles soup too!

A new-ish restaurant, on a site that has had various incarnations of restaurants of the Chinese variety. Now in the top 2 or 3 list of local(~20 min radius) places where we go to get our XLB fix. — XLBs are usually quite delicious — Their noodles are hand-made(hand-pulled?) noodles. Unfortunately, I don’t think I am super-excited about any of the noodle dished we’ve ordered there so far in the 5 – 10 times we’ve been there the past couple months, but the fact that we’ve come on the regular does say something about our overall satisfaction with this place. We usually do early dinner(get there by 5 – 5:30p), so I’m not really sure how busy it gets. Since we are usually the 1st or 2nd table that gets seated every time we get there, it’s usually clean, quite, and efficient. No complaints for me.

So let’s start this off, yes I did see the South Park episode on Unilocalers, and no I am not that fanatical about it haha. I’m just a regular guy who has a full time job and would like to write something nice about this place! So the first thing anyone thinks of when going to an ethnic restaurant is…“how authentic is this place?” With that being said, there is no orange chicken here, no fortune cookies, and no general tso’s chicken! A lot of the customers are speaking the native language. However, there is no discrimination on a customer based on language. I myself don’t speak it well and they were more than accommodating for me. It’s pretty authentic Chinese food and with its customer base being Chinese, I think they’re doing pretty well. So why do you ask, 4⁄5 stars? Well being Americanized, I’m used to certain flavors. Embarrassingly, I’ve gotten so accustomed to them that I think the food might need a little bit more flavor. But that’s my fault for not being a good Asian haha. In the end, if you’re in the Fremont area and looking for dumplings/Chinese food, give this place a try!

Not bad, not great. Prices are very reasonable. Hand pulled noodles are, in fact, hand pulled Broth is a little bland XLB have nice thin skins and decent soup You can eat here for under $ 10 — just get a bowl of noodles with whatever you like. Atmosphere in the place is a little scary. That is, it’s clean, but quiet as the grave. Most chinese places have some sound — clunking of plates, people talking, anything.

Trying out new spots can always be a hit or miss and I can say that this joint is right in the middle. So my friends and I decided to go and try this place out. Food: — Pork and crab XLB — it was the right size bite though I did not really taste the crab in it — Pork XLB — right size and tasted really fresh as it was juicy as it should be — Beef Stew Noodle — tasted really fresh as noodles were freshly hand pulled — Bean curd and shredded pork — though it was a little greasy, the bean curd tasted fresh and pork was cooked to my liking — Black bean noodles — again, noodles tasted good as it was freshly made and hint of sweetness from the sauce One negative comment as the front door was widely open, there were flying gnats all over our table and had to swat them away. A few of them landed on our food and had to set it aside. Overall, I would not mind coming back again and trying their different XLB’s as I did like both of my first options though I hope that it would contain enough of the listed ingredients.
