Closed and soon to be a new owner. Pretty sad actually despite a lot of the bad reviews they really DID have fresh made in house dim sum and great quality dishes. However there definitely were weekends that the normal chef had the day off and the food was sub part in comparison to normal. Anyways my family were regulars and are sad to see this place go.

Polite and good service. The food was very good for the price. Haven’t been here in awhile but am looking to come back.

Came here for a banquet that shut down the entire restaurant. Food and service were fine. Parking easy in the shopping center. Somewhat more private dining on the right side of the restaurant with a private room in the left corner of the restaurant. I’d eat here again.

Service was so bad!!! There were barley three servers in the restaurant during the rush hours on weekends. They couldn’t handle all the requests from customers. We asked for a sweet and sour sauce from one lady, and that lady asked another guy to get it, unfortunately, that guy end up forgetting the sauce. Eventually, we got the sauce in half an hour upon request, but we already finished all our dishes. That was ridiculous! Dim sum’s taste is okay, but not fresh and not hot at all. We will not come to this place again, never ever!!!

We used to be regulars to this place but we will never come back again. ******When my boyfriend said“could you bring me a Sprite?“ The waitress(we were here today at 1:00pm) was like:“Oh, I’m sooo busy to get u that you go find someone else or I’ll get u later.“ And my BF said:“Ok then cancel the rest of our orders since you are too busy.”******* We left without paying tips because we were SHOCKED:)

I came here on Mother’s Day and we had made reservation ahead of time for 11:50am. When we arrived at 11:55, it turns out they had mistakenly given away our seats. We ended up waiting another 15 minutes until we were seated since this place was swarming with people. We were seated in the VIP room, which had more space and you don’t feel crowded by other people. We ordered most of our dimsum off the menu and also had 2 entrees, the abalone and«A» vegetable. The«A» vegetable ended up being the most expensive dish $ 12.95. The abalone wasn’t really anything special, but the dim sum was quite reasonable. For our group of 5, we ended up only paying $ 70 including tax and tip, which seemed like a steal for how much food we had. After scrutinizing the receipt later, I realized they had undercharged us for the tea and also forgot to charge for a dimsum dish since the place was super hectic.

This place sucks the food has no taste and they keep you waiting for an hour even when your first in line. It is place with horrible service and people who don’t hear a word you say. Basically don’t come here.

Just finished dinner there tonight and we loved our experience! It was a last minute thing to decide eat there as a friend was visiting east bay and happened to be in that area. Despite of some negative reviews, we decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, all dishes we ordered were really good! We ordered prawns with dry vegetables, steamed chicken and stir fried sticky rice. They all so tasty and especially the prawns with dry vegetables, we never ate there anywhere else before. The waitress who served our table was super nice too! They served some soup before the meal and they were so good. My friend and I requested another serving and she delivered immediately! The service was fast and the dishes were served fast too! At end of our dinner, there was free desert served too! We will definitely come back here!

Pretentious! Pretentious! And Pretentious! Everyone — the restaurant, the owner and the customers — is pretentious at this horrible restaurant where prices are not only exorbitant but higher than those at genuine Chinese restaurants in San Francisco! What restaurant calls itself Chinese when it has NO scallop on its(HUGE) menu — hack, there is a 99 Ranch a short drive from it and Ralph’s, which is within a five minute walk, sells scallops! But this place has«abalone» on its menu and boss-man said the price is $ 8 a slice!(Can you shape discarded fish meat to look like abalone by overlooking it?) I ended up stumbling into this sorry of a place when I was visiting someone at a nearby Kaiser hospital. Every entrée I ordered costs $ 12.95! I had the seafood(fish, shrimp and squid) chow mein, broccoli beef and some house special fried rice. The food was bland and leaves much to be desired. The boss-man took my take out order — it took him over ten minutes to enter my order into his«new» computer and he got them all wrong so he ran into the kitchen to bark out my actual order — three items, for goodness sake! Stay away from this place(nice décor though) if you don’t want to throw away your money on bad«Chinese» food. This place, which has the Hubris to call itself a place for Chinese«cuisine,» makes Panda Express restaurants look like gourmet Chinese restaurants! Go to Panda and some place else other than this Jin Won. ..

Not sure if this is Jin Won. Or Golden Palace, per the business cards. But the address matches. LOVED: *the ‘VIP’ room, nice segregation from the rest of the dining room *food is less oily and salty than typical, some may call it bland, like my Aunt *artistic plating *delicious lettuce wraps with Chinese sausage, mmm *free range chicken, nice and crisp skin *they were cognizant of the ABCs in the group asking if we needed forks *LOTS of desserts, overload actually, lotus buns, jell-o in the shape of a fish, sesame balls AND almond cookies, I would rather just have red bean tapioca soup Really gracious staff and lovely owner. Improvements: It’s an abomination to deep fry lobster. It’s already tough enough to eat. Tea was not great and never hot. I’m pretty sure they still use MSG, but are VERY light handed with it, no hangover. $ 10 corkage. Price? Great. 3 banquet tables for just under 4 figures. A steal.

This place has a lot of work to do. The first dish that came out was our salt and pepper tofu. The waiter messed up and brought it to the adjacent table, and my mom pointed out it was actually ours. Normally, at other dim sum restaurants, this wouldn’t come out quicker than other items that we ordered. It was also unevenly salted, so some pieces were super salty and some had no flavor at all. We also ordered a shrimp rice roll. As soon as it came to our table, my mom was shocked about how small it was. We also had a fried turnip cake. It was thicker than I would have liked, but didn’t taste bad. We ordered spareribs and chicken feet(my two favorite dim sum items) too but these did not come out until we finished everything else. Usually these are the first things to come to my table whenever I go to other dim sum places. We asked a waiter where those dishes were. Apparently, they put those two dishes onto a cart, which was slowly making its round through the tables and had to wait for it to come to us. As for the quality, I was extremely disappointed with the chicken feet because it tasted soggy and had minimal flavor. In Chinese restaurants, it’s very common to lift the lid of your teapot if your pot is empty, indicating you want more tea. Multiple staff members walked by our table and did not take our pot. It was actually a cart pusher who had to point it out to one of the waiters to refill it for us. Below average food, below average service. You can do better.

Dim sum in the mornings with paper menus and a couple of carts on weekends. The siu mai is quite large. The beef and shrimp noodle rolls are a little larger plates also. The deep fried taro puffs are not as fluffy and crispy. Phoenix claws were great. Gooey salted egg yolk buns were odd. The runny egg yolk was not yolky, but oily, as in the yoik and the oil had separated. BBQ puff pastry were good. Glutinous rice chicken was delicious. Fried salt water dumplings were large, but tasted okay. Service is okay. Beware wobbly tables. Restaurant itself is kinda dingy with harsh lighting. Cheap prices and portions make it worth coming back.

This is by far one of the best dim sum places I’ve tried in Fremont. Compared to Koi Palace and Hong Kong Lounge in Millbrae, this place hits home for me. Not only was the service good but the quality of their dim sum was better than I expected and I live in San Francisco and have been to numerous dim sum restaurants. Definitely every bang for your buck.

Another new Chinese restaurant in the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center, tasking over the former ‘Chinese Cuisine” restaurant that didn’t do so well. Walked into the restaurant, the waitress was at the front on th phone talking, possibly taking someones order, who knows. We ended up having to wait because of that, at least 4 minutes before she finally sat us down. There was another waitress but she was busy assisting another table. When we finally sat down, we were given 2 menus, we had 3 people in our party though… guess the waitress probably thought I wouldn’t want one because I’m young… The menus are huge, they are really large and long. Like Really, why the long menus? It’s hard to hold and look at the menus at the same time. We ordered a 4 items. Diced Beef in Honey Sauce; $ 12.95 Prawns with Dried Vegetables; $ 15.00 Sweet & Sour Pork; $ 9.99 Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice; $ 9.99 To say the least, the food was okay, 3 stars would be good but sadly can’t give it a 3. The fried rice had a piece of paper or something in it, along with a piece of bug inside the rice… like yuck!!! How can there stuff other than what is supposed to be in the rice, let alone, a BUG! The other items were okayyyyy, the sweet and sour pork was okay, kinda tangy but not as sweet as other places. The beef was was so so, I me the sauce it was sweet because it’s honey sauce. The prawns was very expensive, and it was so so asc well. It was interesting the way it was presented and for the first time trying it was alright. For dessert, they gave us complimentary dessert soup and then some fried balls. The fried balls, weren’t good. We only ate one, they tasted as if they were leftover from the lunch time Dim Sum and just refried… The customer service was alright. The waitresses were friendly, one was more friendlier than the other. One seemed more customer oriented than the other, more friendlier and happier. Yeah, don’t quite know if we would return. Maybe to try their lunch for some Dim Sum.

I wrote a Unilocal review for Chinese Cuisine, which has the same address as this Jin Won place. The Chinese Cuisine Unilocal page is here: . Maybe the owner should close the previous page and use this one instead? Anyway, dim sum is good!

Slow service, when asked about an order the waiter said«I don’t know», when asked a second time the waiter said«ask that guy» and pointed in a seemingly random direction since there was no one standing where she pointed. No cart pushing here! You order on a sheet and they bring it out to you. The food is average, nothing to write home about but it’s an option if you don’t want to go to a Mayflower or something.
