There’s a place in Texas that gives unwanted colonics, and that place is Ginger & Spice. The first red flag was being met with the lingering smell of vomit. Wanting to give them a fair chance, food was ordered. One taste and you knew something was wrong. The server was notified and full plates of food was sent back, but all of the customers were only given a 50% discount. After paying for food that wasn’t eaten, those that ate more than one bite visited with the porcelain gods all night long. The meal left us 5lbs lighter and $ 5 poorer.

This is bad! Never to come back. not good. Wife got a «vegetable» plate. For lunch outrageously expensive. So call buffet bar almost empty. Soup was definitely watered down. Dirty and needs a good cleandown. Don’t Go!!!

We were craving sushi and from the reviews & website pics we thought this might be a good choice. We were wrong, like others said it was a about 80% empty, a whole section was roped off and lights off. When we walked in I wanted to leave but but decided to give it a chance. NO atmosphere at all. Sushi we had we could have made ourselves at home. Dumplings tasted out of a box, seaweed salad was good. Service was super slow, only one lady trying to do her best. On the way out noticed a fly strip hanging from a ceiling fan, fan was not on, but still… gross,

One of our few Unilocal failures. We arrived a few minutes after 1:00 and were seated. We waited a while and finally a woman came over to ask what we wanted to drink. We ordered water and tea. A few minutes later a man came over to take our order. We requested basil fried rice with chicken and extra basil and pad see eew with tofu and a side of hot sauce. He too asked what we wanted to drink. He directed us to the appetizer bar where there were a few small pieces of teriyaki fried carrot and onion rings, small egg rolls, soups, salad and sushi. Things were pretty picked over – two trays were already empty – but we took an assortment of what was left. When we returned to our table our water and pot of tea were sitting in the middle of the table. So we drank our tea(water was tepid; we should have realized that was an omen) and ate out appetizers(the supposed-to-be-hot items were cold) and waited – 20 minutes. When our food finally arrived we told the server we were missing the hot sauce. A few minutes later a different server dropped sriracha and red pepper on our table and disappeared. Well, as we started to eat, we noticed both entrees were lukewarm. Not just at the edges but in the middle, too. They’d been sitting somewhere for a while. We dug in anyway. Mistake. The fried rice had two small spears of broccoli, a couple identifiable onions, shredded bits of chicken and no flavor. And no extra basil. Even the hot sauce couldn’t redeem it. We picked out the chicken and left the rest. The pad see eew was not much better with a couple of broccoli spears and a few pieces of fried tofu among the congealing sauce and noodles. None of the servers checked back with us until we put our credit card on the table. We declined the offer of a to-go box for the leftovers and I guess that wasn’t unusual because the server didn’t ask why we left almost an entire order untouched. The appetizer bar, sparse as it was, turned out to be the highlight of this overpriced and poorly prepared and served meal.

When we first walked in, we were a bit skeptical, but as soon as the food arrived we knew it would be a five star review. I haven’t found a Thai place this good in years, in central Texas or anywhere else.

Thai food in Fredericksburg, TX? Count me nervous. I ordered to-go, so I can’t comment on the service. It’s a loveable in the wall off the main Fredericksburg strip, so I wouldn’t come here expecting amazing atmosphere or décor. Anyway, one bite in and all my previous fears melted away. The fried rice and penang curry were some of the best I’ve had anywhere. No doubt about it, this is top notch Thai food. Eat on Fredericksburg Thai food cravers.

I really like the pad thai chicken here but I’ve had multiple dishes and they’re all good. They have a very nice in-restaurant salad bar that features sushi and fried vegetables. They will make things spicy to your liking and the price is good for Fredericksburg. Will eat here often!

We were initially excited when we saw this Thai restaurant while visiting Fredericksburg. We went for lunch and were a party of 4. The only reason that I am writing this review is that it was the«worst Thai» food that I have ever eaten in either Thailand or the U.S. But first let’s talk about the service, it was also dreadful and the restaurant was not even busy. It took 7 minutes to be seated and then another 10 minutes just to be asked our drink order. During our meal we gave up waiting for our waitress and had to obtain for ourselves napkins, straws and chopsticks form a side table. However, we were pleasantly pleased to learn that the appetizer buffet came with an entrée, but after taking one look we were disappointed as there was nothing left. We politely inquired if it would be restocked and were told«yes» but during the entire hour that we were there the only fresh thing that came out was1 type of sushi. Okay back to the food, one of our ordered entrees was the«Pad Thai» chicken & shrimp but it was the most unpleasant pad thai that we had ever consumed. 4 people attempted to eat this and we all thought the same thing: the only taste to it was like spaghetti sauce out of a can. No kidding, there was no other seasoning or flavor. We asked the waiter why it was so different and she finally admitted that they added ketchup to the sauce? Needless to say we did not ask for a «to go» container. It was obvious that this dish was not enjoyed by our table but the waitress seemed so unconcerned and never even volunteered any substitution or compensation. Do not waste your time or money!

Came here twice during a three day trip. The food is delicious. We had green curry and a seafood dish the first day of our trip. We actually had low expectations just because it’s the only Asian restaurant in town(everything else is American or German diner style food). Turned out to be as good as Thai restaurants in Houston.

We tried this place last year when we were here as a last minute to-go option. The staff was so friendly and took the time to chat with us while we waited for our food. We stopped in again today and it was just as delicious as we remembered it. My suggestion is the basil fried rice, just a little spicy. And everyone should try the homemade coconut ice cream YUMMY!

Had lunch here with two adults and two Tweens. The restaurant was about 80% empty. After standing in the front for a minute, then asking, they told us to just sit anywhere. The lunch menu is pretty limited with a bunch of rice bowls and one type of curry per day on the menu. We didn’t like Musselman curry, but they let us order different styles from the dinner menu, at dinner prices. Two of us ordered from the lunch menu, the Saigon noodles and green beans with basil. The curries were good, rich and well spiced with full dinner portions. The Saigon noodles were great with plenty of brilliantly seasoned and roasted chopped chicken, though the noodles were still a bit hard. Unfortunately the basil and green beans were horrid. Half cooked bean chunks with a gloppy green sauce without a visible basil leaf and cold tofu slices. How can a Thai restaurant not have fresh basil in June? The appetizer bar was a nice touch, even if the soups they had were Chinese hot and sour and Japanese miso. Again, Thai soups are better than that… And don’t expect any décor. At all. It looks like it was furnished from random bits pilfered from an old Chinese restaurant.

This restaurant is a little hard to find. It’s the 3rd door down the side of the building. Run by family that have good food and great service. We were there for lunch and you get the appetizer bar with you meal… salad, soup, sushi and other great food. We’re going back tonight!

Ate here with my daughter on a Wednesday night. Service was incredibly slow. Put our drink orders in and waited 15 minutes for them, and to place our order. The place was fairly empty but the sweet older woman who was waiting tables was clearly out of her league and could not keep up. Tables around us cleared out while we waited for our spring roll appetizer. 20 minutes later we got them. Heavy on lettuce and celery. Not much shrimp and no lemongrass or other flavors. Pretty bland. So now the two have us have been waiting for an hour and only ordered California roll, 2 pieces of salmon sashimi and 2 pieces of maguro sashimi. We never received place settings(utensils /napkins) and had to ask twice for them. Finally, 1 hour and 10 minutes in our food arrives. I don’t eat salmon but my daughter said it tasted like the salmon was cooked, or lightly smoked. Tuna was actually pretty good which got the rating from a 1 star to a 2 star. Waitress never surfaced at our table again after taking our order. Our drinks were empty, never got refills. And sat for over an hour waiting for food while place was pretty empty. Save yourself some time and skip this place

As far as food choices in Fredericksburg, this it’s the worst. Don’t eat here. I really wasn’t sure if the meat was good. All of our stomachs hurt. Staff was nice.

Best Thai food around without having to go to the big city. Awesome curry and fried rice. The salad bar has everything you could want from sushi, egg rolls, tempura vegetables and some of the best hot and sour soup I’ve ever had!

My husband came here on a Sunday evening for dinner… Wait staff was friendly and helpful… Food was excellent… I’m a huge thai food fan and I highly recommend their taste of basil chicken… Steamed dumplings were also delightful But oh the sticky rice and mango!!! Yummy! Everything was fresh and tasteful… Which is what you want with Thai food… Don’t let the lack of décor fool you… It looks like a bit of the West meets East… But good and service is awesome!

This is gooood Thai food for a good price in Fredericksburg. The first time we went I was a little hesitant walking in because there was previously a not-so-good chinese restaurant in the same building, but I am GLAD I didn’t let that deter me. They have legit sushi, your typical rolls and house rolls as well as a great selection of authentic dishes. It’s not the best sushi in the world, but it is definitely the best in Fredericksburg. I really like the Pad Thai with beef and the rolled up shrimp things. Best part about the place is the appetizer bar that comes with your meal at lunch(I am not 100% sure if they serve it at dinner too). The bar has wontons, fried veggies, soups, sushi, salad and this amazing rice pudding like stuff. The service is always friendly and fast. There have never been more than a handful of tables there every time I’ve been and I just don’t understand it. If you’re a local in Fredericksburg — EXPANDYOURHORIZONSANDTRYSOMETHINGDIFFERENT! Lol I promise you won’t be disappointed :)

My spouse and I were looking for a place that was open late Sunday evening. We were surprised to find a Thai restaurant. The place did not disappoint. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. They have a decent sushi selection with standard ones and chef inspired new ones. The one we had was Sumo Roll-eel, salmon, tuna, white fish, crab stick, jalapeño slices topped with avocado and teriyaki sauce. It was delicious and we wanted more to take home! Both of us had curry(me green w chicken and my wife red with beef) and the dishes we’re superbly cooked. The flavors were spot on and tasted fresh. Staff was courteous and efficient. We were seated immediately(keep in mind it was Sunday evening) and the sushi was brought out 10 minutes after ordering. No more than five minutes lapsed from when we were done to when the main entrees were brought out.

This place looked a little suspect at first but I’m happy we gave it a try. The sushi I would not recommend. The rice was dry and consistency was a little off. However, the entries were fantastic and it seems to be a spot for the locals away from all the tourists. In addition the staff was great.
