I ordered from here while in town this past week for work. I would rate it five stars because the food was amazing. I ordered online from Grub Hub, did not have to talk to anyone(a personal favorite of mine), and it arrive quick and fresh. The delivery fee is cheesy because it was like $ 9 to deliver my food.

Absolutely love Casa Rico! The food is delicious and you get huge portions! I always take home leftovers. Whenever my family comes into town we meet at Casa Rico for dinner. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out fast. My favorite Mexican restaurant by far.

My husband has been wanting to try this place for some time now. The salsa was good and had a lot of cilantro and cumin. We ordered 2 pork chile tamales, which were very good. I didn’t like the fact that they came with melted cheese on top and was drenched in green chile. Despite this, the masa had great flavor. My husband ordered the chile colorado burrito and he absolutely loved it. They forgot to take out the bay leaf and there was more sauce than meat, but it had amazing flavor. Again, I didn’t like the fact that it was drenched in chile and cheese, but the flavors were delicious! I ordered the green chile pork, which came with pickled onions, cojita cheese and 2 corn tortillas. The green chile was a little flat and could have used some more flavor, but the meat was tender. They both came with rice and black beans which were good, as well. Our waiter, Rajan, was very attentive. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. Overall, it was a good experience and we would come back again to try their other menu items.

Good guacamole. I had the chicken Fajitas and they were terrible. The meat seemed old and was overly marinated with some awful grainy liquid. I would bet my life that chicken was previously frozen and had been sitting in marinade for days(I hope it was only days). On top of that it was super greasy. Gross. Rice was mushy and weird. I think the veg in the Fajita plate was string beans and green peppers. The server was very friendly and attentive.

It’s a good Mexican restaurant, nothing fancy. The table salsa is spicy for spicy sensitive people but the homemade tortilla chips are good. Good service, good food reasonably priced.

I rate places on service, food, cleanness and Prices. I order carne asada, sweet plantains and I liked it ok. My husband order the beef enchiladas which were with ground beef not shredded and he liked it. He liked it more than me since I still liked Mariachis restaurant in Frederick’s carne asada better. The prices were good. Downside for me was bathrooms were not as clean and I Always pay attention to that because dirty restaurants are a turn off for me however I did take notice that the decorations were not dusty which is good. No one was there to greet me or said anything when we left out of curtesy. Also, our waitress wasn’t too friendly. So that three stars were for good food, nice Mexican decoration, and prices.

I am not a huge Mexican food eater but some of my friends told me this place has the best tacos. So one night they take me out and we had a great time! I hand a mango daiquiri that was light and really good. As a table we shared nachos which were different, but had a really good flavor. Then I had steak tacos with lots of fixings and they were awesome! One of my favorite things was the guacamole… yum! The service was good and friendly and I’ll definitely be back!

Food ordered: queso, baja shrimp, baja fish tacos, chorizo tacos, strawberry margarita. My sister loves this place and we celebrate her birthday here nearly every year. The past few times I haven’t been greatly impressed. But it’s obviously what I’ve been ordering, because this time it was amazing! Queso was good, it’s not watery like other Mexican places. It’s nice and thick, and always hot when it comes to the table. However, I think the chips are way too thin. I love thin chips but the ones here are nearly see through. I wish it had more flavor though. Throw in some jalapeños or something similar to give it bite. Husband got the baja shrimp and let me try one. It was hot and cooked properly, but it had a sandy texture to it. He liked it though, which is what matters since he ate the rest. The star was the the street tacos. Holy crap these were the tastiest fish tacos I have ever had. I wanted to order more after I was finished because they were that good. The combo of the chipotle cream sauce and the chillies seasoning on the fish made it tangy, spicy and just plain delicious. Husband liked his tacos, but I was so focused on mine I didn’t try his lol. Will definitely return again and again just for these tacos. Service was amazing also. Our server was super nice, accommodating and knowledgeable.

Best Sangria hands down! I drive all the way from Baltimore for this tasty treat, Shyam the GM is always a pleasure, the service staff is always on point. I am a GM myself and I appreciate the freshness and time put into each dish from the chips to the flan. Keep up the good work! P. s. Sunday they have a special on sangria!!!

It was an okay experience. The service was very good. Friendly and helpful. The food was okay. Nothing spectacular. Might come back, might not. Hopefully if I do it will be a better experience food wise.

Casa Rico is awesome! It’s definitely my favorite place to eat when my family goes out for dinner. It saddens me that it has quite a few bad reviews, but please, if you’re thinking of eating here then give it a try! The chips they give you are awesome, and they can get addicting if you eat too much haha. My favorite dish is the Carne Asada. It’s covered in cheese and onions and this amazing special sauce. I’m not usually one to finish my entrée, but when I get the carne asada, I eat the whole thing because it’s so good. It’s way better than any I’ve had at other restaurants. The wait staff has always been really friendly every time I’ve visited, I usually get Rajan as my waiter and he is so helpful and always such a joy to talk to. Some say that the restaurant needs updates but I personally like the inside. I appreciate the nod to traditional Mexican architecture they have going on. If you’ve never been to Casa Rico, please go! don’t let a couple of bad reviews discourage you.

Casa Rico deserves credit for their food and their dedication to their community. I’m giving credit where it’s due. I just ate here yet again last week and had the same great service and quality of food I’ve been getting since 1987 coming here as a young kid. SERVICE: Attentive, personable staff. I don’t have a single complaint. If we need refills or more tortillas they’re on it! If we need more time figuring out what to order, they’re on it! Couldn’t speak more highly of their staff. REGIONALSPECIALTIES: During my last few visits I’ve ordered off of the«Especiales de la Casa» menu and again have no complaints. I haven’t seen dishes like these at any other Mexican restaurant in the surrounding counties and appreciate the chef for introducing us to food beyond the typical burritos and enchiladas(though there’s nothing wrong with those but these especiales are delicious!) They’re served almost like fajitas — sizzling on a platter — and come with beans, rice, salsa, and tortillas. My favorite is the Margarita Chicken. As much as I like trying other things this is my go to. FOOD: If you’re not in the mood for a filling Mexican meal the avocado salad hits the spot! Their tacos are also pretty good — they’re offered in a variety of forms which makes for some unique options. Something I certainly haven’t seen elsewhere. DAILYSPECIALS: Make sure you check their website as they have specials nearly every day of the week. There’s some great deals. Even more great deals if you sign up for the Fiesta Club! OVERALL: Thank you Casa Rico for the decades of great memories and great food. Having been here many times for over 20+ years I can attest to the quality of their food, the kindness of the staff, and the great atmosphere they provide. This is not just your average Mexican restaurant and they truly should be applauded for that!

Food was good. Reason for 3 stars is I’m Hispanic and have gone to lots of Mexican /Hispanic restaurants and never been charged so high for a HORCHATA !! Just because it came in a special glass. I was in shock !

Do NOT waste your time at this place. Service began with someone first stopping by our table after we’d been seated for some time. The server finally came around to take our drink order and left abruptly before the last person in our party could order. The queso appears as if it’s made from velveeta– not Mexican cheese. The sangria was ok. Salsa was awful; thin sauce with large chunky vegetables– almost all onions and no garlic or cilantro. My husband ordered tamales which tasted like the frozen kind we get from Costco, not fresh. Our son ordered a burrito gordo which should have been loaded with lettuce, beef, rice, and beans– and had very little meat inside. Our daughter and I both ordered tacos. The worst I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The meat tasted exactly like saucy Old El Paso mix. The tomatoes were not fresh and seemed to be pre-packaged. The only cheese on any of our plates was finely shredded cheddar– obviously packaged from a food service. We love interacting with our server and oftentimes look past not-so-great food if the service is really good. We appreciate what it takes to interact with the general public and be really good. Our server attended our table twice– to take our drink order and then our food order. Drinks never refilled and chip baskets never refilled. Never returned until he left our tab. He seemed miserable the entire time and even seemed to almost throw our drinks on the table. We are from out of state so will definitely never be returning.

This is absolutely a great spot for a filling, cost effective lunch(starting at 5.99) and it took its place as my 2nd favorite Mexican place(so far) in town. First, the service was great. Everyone was so accommodating and polite which I definitely appreciate. Next, and very importantly, I had a huge plate of tasty food for 6.99; enchilada, taco, rice, beans and condiments. I would have taken a picture but I was too busy inhaling it. They also have great queso dip, salsa and chips. Now, my lunch buddy was not totally crazy about her food and stated that the last place we had Mexican food was her preference. I do not agree. To me, the last place was not authentic and Casa Rico is much closer. They just offer far more flavorful food, imo. Overall, I think the food is good, the atmosphere is good and the service is great. I hear they have a Margarita Monday too which will likely be the focus of our next visit.

My beef chimichanga was without question deserving of one star but the bf said he liked his steak fajitas so I’m adding a star on his behalf. They did give him a generous portion of toppings(guac, sour cream, cheese) whereas other places don’t. But back to me now. As you can see in my photos, the chimi was served dry as a desert. No melted cheese or sauce on top. The inside looked like straight up Alpo. No sauce, cheese, or seasoning to speak of and the texture was that of leftover meatloaf. It was edible in the way that when my little niece and nephew cook up something, I smile politely and chew it down. However I could not even handle the watery rice and old, canned refried beans– yuck!!! The chips were fine but the salsa is strangely sweet. It didn’t really taste bad but I’ve never had sweet salsa before. Also, the restaurant proudly announces on the menu they’ve been open since 1987. That’s awesome they’ve stayed open for 27 years but renovations are badly needed. The first thing my bf said when we sat down was«the padding on this booth sucks!»
