Let’s talk about food poisoning. Specifically, the food poisoning I got from eating lunch here on Wednesday, June 17. That tasty tots & corndog is the only meal I ate that day that the rest of my family didn’t, and I’m the only one who’s been sick ever since. My doctor says it’s likely because an employee had fecal matter on his/her hands. I’m now on day three of this miserable viral infection in my intestinal tract thanks to a food-handling employee for whom hand-washing is apparently too much trouble. Thanks, Sonic of Mallory Lane. You shouldn’t have.

Love Sonic, I don’t think any other fast food burger is as good! Heck they beat most sit down restaurant burgers. The only reason I won’t give 5 stars at this location is because I visit this location once or twice a week and it’s VERY common that they get my order wrong, even when I come alone. The order takers always seem like they’re trying to rush you, they never repeat or confirm the order and it’s always like they’re not listening. There are times when I’ve driven home to find my order was totally wrong and I’ve come back to have it fixed. If I could fix this issue it would be to make sure my order takers and baggers are paying attention. There’s nothing worse when ordering drive up than for them to mix it up or leave things out. I realize they’re busy, but if you don’t have time to do it right the first time, how will you find time to do it over? I did fast food for many years and great service and accurate service is just as important as quality product. Get the order right and Sonic beats everybody!

The four stars are for the drinks, the shakes and that smooth sleeper dessert, the simple vanilla dish. Simple. Understated. My summer time weakness. My favorite summer time drink is the gigantic diet cherry lime aide. The kids who work here are as friendly as they can be. Surprise them with a ridiculously huge tip for your high value shake or delicious drink. No stars for the food. Too salty. Too light on nutrients and low on goodness. The one exception is the Cinnasnacks. Quite tasty – steaming hot with coffee is a pretty nice breakfast.

I’m a huge fan of Sonic! As a New Yorker who only visits the South a few times a year, barely a trip goes by that I don’t indulge in this burger joint that has everything you could possibly want for at a great price! Their burgers are always juicy, their drinks are fun and creative and their tater tots rival those that one recalls from childhood! They have amazing desserts ranging from Sundaes to milkshakes and I love the quaint nuance of getting to order from my car and have the food brought straight over. Sometimes, there is just nothing more delightful than the old school way of doing things! Sonic, for me, never disappoints!

quick and easy place to do lunch in the area. They typically run some specials and have come around the local business offices and dropped off even more coupon savings. The footlong hotdog is so large you can saddle it up and ride it. I enjoy the new york dawg and tots… the hamburgers aren’t that bad and you can order a grilled cheese too. I am not a huge fan of all the different drinks but I think other people really love that. all-in-all not a bad lunch spot for cheap…

One star. I wish there was a «minus star» option. Forgive me for being picky, however, I ordered Tater Tots and requested they be fresh and crispy(well done). The order taker repeats back my order(other food as well) and doesn’t mention«fresh and well done» to describe the tots. I responded with, «the order sounds correct, may I get the tots fresh and well done?» She responds, «yeah, I heard you the first time.» All kidding aside, less than 30 seconds later the server approaches my car with my order. I said to myself, «Self, there is no way the tots are fresh and well done.» Well, guess what? Self was right, the tots didn’t even pretend to fresh or well done. And, as you can imagine, the other items in the order weren’t freshly prepared and was not served hot or even warm to the touch. Normally, I would push the little red button and request a «do over.» I put the whole order in the trash and decided I would rather throw away $ 5 than to further irritate the precious little order taker behind the red button. I guess I was just too picky.

When I moved to Tennessee 2 years ago, I was so excited to be able to eat Sonic when ever I wanted! So I did just that when I moved here! In the part of Northern California I lived in, there were no Sonics around. So I only had it when I had a drive down to SOCAL. I became very fond of the famous Cherry Lime-Aid. I had Sonic quite a bit when I moved here and quickly found out that Sonic is cheep and they do not use quality ingredients:(… Sonic soon lost its place in my heart as an amazing novelty drive in restaurant I would crave! Its good in all, but I would be fine eating Sonic once a year… if that. But dontt forget! They have a great happy hour for drinks!!!

The nearest Sonic to the NY metro area is over 3 hours away. Yes, I researched this because for some tortuous reason Sonic commercials play here taunting me with such delights as Cookie Dough Blasts with no locations nearby to make my dreams reality. In general, I dislike fast food and chains, but for some reason I LOVE Sonic, so my cousins whisked us from the airport straight to Sonic(though I’m not sure of the exact location, this is at least close). The Cookie Dough Blast, I am happy to report to those who have experienced pangs of longing with no fulfillment, is every bit as amazing as it looks on the commericals. Endless cookie dough chunks nestled amongst mountains of soft serve vanilla ice cream, topped with a swirl of what I can only conclude is REAL whipped cream! They have other delights that set them apart from McDonald’s and BK. Their version of Frito pie is a foot(literally, a FOOT) long container of Fritos topped with chili and liquid cheese. GENIUS. It is disgusting but brilliant. Sickening yet poetically soul lifting. Nachos with a twist. Now, their fries are a little soggy, and if memory serves me the burgers and whatnot aren’t excellent. But I don’t care. Instead of the fries, get the tots.(They love tots. They even have a special burger topped with tots.) First of all, it makes for unavoidable Napoleon Dynamite jokes. Second of all, and I am not exaggerating, these tots are masterpieces. If there were a potato byproduct caste system, these tots would be the kings and queens. Crispy, seasoned, lovingly bundled up, and masquerading in a fry box. They lose one star and one star only because I can’t have a Cookie Dough Blast, Frito pie, and tots whenever I want. Although maybe this is a good thing.
