I don’t have too much to say about Bombay Bistro. They have great Indian food. Even the food from the buffet is fresh and high quality. There are great vegetarian as well as meat options. My favorites from them are the veggie masala, naan bread, and their mango lassi. Highly recommend!

We went to BB recently while at a convention nearby, since it is some of my friend’s favorite spot for Indian. The restaurant is very nice on the inside, with upscale décor and lighting, and everything feels a little classier than I guess I was expecting. I got the kadhai with lamb, garlic naan, and their stuffed fruit bread(the waiter said it was basically piswari naan… not quite). My fiancé got the chicken tikka. To start, our poor waiter was having a rough night. You could tell it was probably his first time working or at least dealing with a party of more than two. He kept forgetting things, or misunderstanding our order. He was trying so hard though, and so I’m not as much disappointed in that, as I am in the fact that it seems like he probably could’ve been better trained, and would’ve dealt with it better. Anyways, the food came out, and it was good. Definitely good. But not great. The flavors weren’t particularly strong to me, like it felt that everything was slightly under seasoned. Very spicy, but not in a bad way. The naan was pretty good, and the fruit bread was decent too, just not that much like the piswari I have had at other places that is much more rich and flavorful. On top of that, the menu is a little pricey. Nothing crazy, but I wasn’t expecting to pay as much as we did, which has made me a little more critical. In their defense, the portions are huge, which makes up for it. I guess in the end it just all fell a little flat. It’s more of a 3.5 than a 3, but I won’t be going out of my way to go back soon.

I write this as I finish my leftover butter curry with chicken. My tummy is very happy and asking to go back ;-) I really liked this place. The atmosphere was nice — elegant but inviting, with a variety of patrons. Our waitress was great — sweet and attentive. There was a nice variety of entrees, and I loved everything I tried(we got a few appetizers that were wonderful as well). I felt like the food was fresh and well-seasoned. And the portions were good. Why not 5 stars? I felt like prices were a couple dollars more than I’d like to pay. Though it was great, $ 15 for a curry dish with no naan included seems high.

Disclaimer: I’ve only been to this place once during the lunch buffet. I’m an avid Indian lunch buffet attendee, however. Came here on a Sunday around noon for the buffet. This place has a very nice atmosphere: decorations, tables, and music are all classy. Being seated and also while getting in line for the buffet, I noticed the carpet was scattered with rice. It was pretty gross. I understand people can be messy, but I would expect this kind of mess to be cleaned up, as it was everywhere. The Buffett had a good variety of food, but everything I tried was pretty bland. Indian food bland?!? What is that nonsense. Even more surprisingly, the chicken tikka masala(fresh out of the kitchen!) had no flavor. I was shocked, as this is usually everyone’s go-to to determine how good an Indian restaurant is(like trying the pad thai at every Thai place). Not to mention, their naan was really greasy(dripping with grease) and also really doughy. I like my naan more crispy and definitely not doughy. They have an interesting cocktail menu based around Indian themes, and that was another nice part to the restaurant. I was really disappointed, as there is another Indian place just one block over, and they have a phenomenal buffet(though not as much variety). We decided to come to Bombay Bistro to continue our run of trying all the Indian restaurants in Franklin, and from this one visit, there is no question that Taste of India is better. I’d like to give this place another try in the future; maybe we caught them on an off day. But for now, I’ll be frequenting Taste of India.

I’ve only gone for lunch and the buffet. I’m not a buffet fan, but after trying it once I was hooked. For $ 11, it’s a great bargain for a feast. Butter Chicken and Veggie Masala were my favorites, but nothing was bad. It was all very fresh as well. I’ll be trying it out for dinner ASAP. Excellent service, too!

So good! Consistently tasty, fresh Indian food is hard to find in the Nashville area, but this is the place. Service is friendly and prompt. The lunch buffet is a great bargain and a good way to go if you’re a first-timer. Just writing this review is making me want to go for the butter chicken right now.

I dream about this place way too often. Just writing this review is making my mouth water. Bombay Bistro never disappoints. I leave here with a full belly and in a partial food coma. Every time my boyfriend and I come here, at least one of the dishes is the buttered chicken. We’ve had the lamb tikka masala, chicken saagwala, and plenty of other entrees, which have ALL been delicious, and maybe this is the southern girl in me, but the buttered chicken has my heart. Be careful if you ask for hot, like Indian hot. They definitely crank up the notch on that, but I love it. You have to get naan before hand. Preferably garlic naan. I usually like to dip this into the extra sauce from the entrees. They have a chocolate naan, but I have yet to try that. There’s two different beers, one being the Taj Mahal, that my boyfriend always gets. I can’t remember the name of the other. They’re the super sized bottles so be prepared. I’ve also been here for their lunch buffet, which you can’t go wrong with that either. For desserts, the gulab jamun is bite-sized, deliciously sweet. I can only handle two, as the sweetness can sometimes be too much. Their traditional Indian ice cream is also good. Different with the noodles on top, but still good. Servers and owners are always friendly and attentive. It’s more of a modern interior, being that it’s in Franklin, but it doesn’t take away from the food whatsoever. I find it legit when you see Indian people coming to eat here as well. In the evening, it’s kind of a romantic setting bc the lights are dim and the candle is lit on the table. Love love LOVE this place!

This place is pretty good for TN. Of course, the lunch buffet is going to be lukewarm, but their menu items are good. There was a place in Nashville on Church St years ago called Peacock, and it was better, but they only lasted a year. Hopefully, with all the Indians moving into Williamson County for programming jobs, a good Indian restaurant can stay alive.

I’ve been here 3 or 4 times. It’s decent for TN. Of course, the lunch buffet is going to be lukewarm, but their menu items are pretty good, too.

This place is always consistent, new items virtually every time we visit the buffet for lunch! It’s our default spot for Indian on the weekend.

This was a real pleasure. I met a business colleague of mine here for their lunch buffet. The restaurant is located in one of those new(to me) strip centers on the eastern side of Cool Springs, where there used to just be cows. Now it’s tough to find parking here. The restaurant is well decorated, clean and the staff is friendly. This isn’t like many of the run down, dirty, poorly-serviced Indian places I’ve been to in the past. Quite the opposite, in fact. The buffet has an outstanding selection of food, and all of it was delicious. The wait staff is friendly. I tried a number of dishes and made a second trip just to sample some more, and found nothing distasteful, although obviously some were more to my liking than others. Management could do a little better job of labeling the dishes and their primary components, which might help some of the more provincial types realize what each dish is. A lunch menu specific to the buffet might be good, even if it only covers a range of potential dishes and not whatever is available that day. Educating customers is a good thing. If you’re looking for that uniquely Indian taste, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the first time that I have been to an Indian Buffett, but this was very good with a lot of good tasty choices. I don’t know Indian food well, so I can’t tell you what it had or didn’t have… but it was very good none the less. Great for work lunches.

If I could rate this place higher I would!!! I absolutely love the flavors, I tried a lot of different dishes and they were all great. My favorite is the butter chicken and the chicken korma. The owners are great people, they treat you like family and we love this about them!!! We will be coming back and making Bombay Bistro a regular!!! Cocktails are a must when eating here, great Indian inspired cocktails

My favorite! I eat here at least once a week. The menu and service are excellent. New to Indian food? No problem, all of the servers are super-knowledgable and will help you choose the perfect dish. I rarely even look at a menu anymore, but let Dave or Rachel order for me and I’m never disappointed!

Coming here from Decatur, Georgia, where Indian restaurants have a commanding presence, it’d be easy to be disappointed in the Nashville metro area, but Bombay does a pretty good job. While the wait times can vary widely, the food quality is pretty good. I’m partial to the Chicken Dhansak and the Navratan Korma with the garlic naan on the side.

Went based on a friend’s recommendation. A little bit fancier than most Indian restaurants I’ve frequented which is a-ok. There seemed to be quite a variety of dishes in the buffet line but my favorite was the butter chicken. I accidentally got fish at one point and that was not to my liking. The great thing about Bombay Bistro is that they bring out the Naan to individual tables. Service was adequate. My overall experience was adequate but have had better experiences with better Indian food.

The food is the best Indian in Nashville, Franklin, really probably the entire southeastern United States. The lunch buffet is dinner menu quality– every day. The people who own and operate the place are a class act, very accommodating and extremely friendly. Between the cocktail menu and the food, this restaurant has at least five of my favorite things in the world :) Take someone you love(or at least want to impress)!

Not the best in Nashville but it’s okay. Not much options for vegetarians in buffet but the non veg was tasty. The buffet is really cheap and you get best for the bugs paid. Still the quality of food can improve. Never expect a Biriyani when you order one here. Try buffet and hope it should work. I like Taj indian restaurant much better than this

I researched a lot for a good Indian food place in TN and decided on this joint. My expectations were met. Food was fresh and steaming hot — ambience was good and the service was exceptional. I ordered a cocktail(Kerala mixture), it was a little strong but good. For appetizers, I had Pani puri and chicken 65, both the dishes were fresh and there was a good amount of quantity for two people to share. For main course, I ordered chicken achari and onion kulcha(it was to die for — very soft and tasty). In the end, for desserts, I had Gulab Jamun — it was 3 little pieces of heaven. They were so soft that it melted in my mouth. Would definitely be coming back if I am in Franklin again.

My husband and I were leaving the mall(and hungry) so I checked trusty ol’ Unilocal to lead us in the right direction to good food. We live in Murfreesboro and aren’t familiar with the Cool Springs area. We both love Indian food and sadly hadn’t had any in a while, so we agreed on Bombay Bistro. The décor was modern and clean and the restaurant was dimly lit, which I prefer. Our waiter was polite, friendly, and attentive. We ordered paneer pakora as an appetizer, naan, my husband ordered paneer jal frazi hot, and I ordered aloo saagwala medium. The paneer pakora and chutneys were awesome. Spicy and flavorful. Definitely my favorite part of the meal. The naan was huge and tasty. My husband really liked his jal frazi. It was reminiscent of our favorite Indian restaurant back home. I honestly didn’t like the saagwala. The spinach had a weird tomato flavor and the potatoes were in large chunks and completely bland. I added some of the chutneys and it was better. As far as spice goes, neither of our dishes were remotely spicy. I wish I had ordered Indian hot but you never know what you’re gonna get. As a whole, the food was just average to me. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go back but if we are in the area again, I would maybe stop in and try a different entrée.

I needed to take my car into the shop today, which meant a solid 60 mile round trip trek. No way I was going to let this happen without getting some food in my increasingly rotund belly, so the decision was between the Indian buffet I know(Bombay Palace on West End) and the Indian Buffet I don’t. Being the wild and crazy guy that I am, I opted for Bombay Bistro, and I wasn’t disappointed. Despite the torrential downpour, it was bustling at the lunch hour. Diving into my plate, I was able to tell why. The selection wasn’t huge, but what was there was extremely tasty(albeit not spicy – but that’s par for the course when it comes to buffets). The mint and tamarind chutneys tasted fresh. The vegetable pakoras had the right level of «crunch,» compared to the soggy mess you often find at buffets. The butter chicken and chicken curry were both flavorful and made with decent quality white meat, not the fatty leftovers some places serve. And, of course, there was daal and a couple other vegetarian dishes. At $ 10 a person, it’s an excellent value. Of course, if you want more than tap water, you’ll pay a premium: $ 2.50 for a soda; $ 3.99 for a Kingfisher, which I, uh, may or may not have done during the lunch hour, much to the shocked looks of the various business people eating in their suits. Apparently my car has a defective tire, so I have to do that 60 mile trip AGAIN next week. Guess where I’ll be eating?

There are not many individually owned restaurants here in the Cool Springs area and this one stands out because it is. Typically, restaurants are chains and people love them because they think they are dependable. Do NOT hesitate to try Bombay because it is not a chain restaurant. It is exactly the opposite of a chain. The owners are classically trained chefs and that shows through in the quality of their food. The owners make the sauces themselves every day. This way everything is fresh and tasty. On the weekends, the buffet varies from the usual through-the-week buffet, because Indian families come in on the weekend to eat and want some variety from what is cooked at home throughout the week, to some Indian fusion dishes, which are delightful. There is not much more to say other than the food is consistently amazing. I go here at least twice a week. Breakdown: 1) Great food(quality, spice, freshness) 2) Good price(worth it) 3) Weekly staple
