The front desk lady is not friendly at all. I arrived 4 minutes late for my appointment. I apologized and told her I could reschedule if it was an issue. She asked if I had been there before. I replied no, she huffed and handed me a paper to fill out(which took all of 60 seconds). She never returned for the paper and took next patient who I assume was early because it was 10:35 by the time I filled put paper. I then waited 45 minutes. So basically it’s not okay for patient to be 4 minutes late but perfectly acceptable to make patient wait? Apparently their time is more valuable. The ophthalmologist is really nice though. I decided not to purchase glasses at this location because I didn’t want to deal with the unfriendly woman.

I love BJ’s optical. They are so friendly and nice. This was the first time that I ever bought glasses and they took a lot of time to explain things to me and to help me find the right frames. About 6 months later the lenses in my glasses were all scratched and damaged and they pointed out that I had a replacement plan(That I didn’t realize I had) and I got my glasses replaced for free! Doesn’t get better than that!

BJ’s Optical has declined quite a bit over the 10 years that I have been coming here. My main qualms are: 1. The hours for BJ’s Optical hours are different from BJ’s business hours. BJ’s Optical opens at 10 am and closes between 4 and 8 pm depending on the day, which is completely inconvenient if you have a job. There have even been times where I have come into the store during the listed business hours only to find a sign saying that they are closed today. 2. BJ’s Optical no longer takes COD orders for contacts on the phone, which was incredibly helpful since it’s hours are rubbish. Even if you are willing to give your credit card information over the phone, they will not accept it. You have to go in. 3. The most of the staff that work here are lackluster and one lady who works here is rude. A year or so ago, I tried to reach BJ’s optical about 1 week before my contact prescription expired. I called repeatedly and by the time my many phone calls were returned, it was the day after my prescription expired. I received no apology and had to schedule(and pay for) another eye exam before I was able to reorder. Overall, if you value saving $ 20 on every contact order that you place then BJ’s Optical is fine. If you value a hassle-free customer-focused experience, I would go elsewhere.

While the person who helped me select my glasses was helpful, the glasses themselves were horrible. They completely scratched up within a couple of months such that I can’t see out of them at all. When I went back to show them, they said I should have bought the warranty — I don’t want to trade in glasses every few months because they’re scratched, even if it’s covered. I had gotten glasses there in the past, and in fact, my BJs prescription sunglasses are fine. But whatever new«scratch resistant» anti-glare coating they put on the lenses was beyond awful and they would do nothing for me. I couldn’t even replace the lenses because those frames are already out of stock. I’ve tried Cambridge Eye Associates in the past, with less than stellar results as well(lenses popped out of frames). So I’ve gone back to spending $ 600+ at my local eyewear store, where lenses and frames last a couple of years and I can actually see with my glasses again.
