Had the absolute best service ever at any restaurant. Our server was Vincent. The food was hot and tasted great. Really enjoy going to this restaurant and having great service makes it even better.

I came in here for dinner while on a business trip. It was after the usual dinner rush and I had to wait a couple minutes to be seated as the hostess was not at her post. I won’t comment on the atmosphere, it was typical of other cracker barrels. I decided to try a seasonal Christmas special: mushroom glazed pot roast. It came with mashed potatoes, choice of side and bread. I went with baby carrots and corn bread. The dish came out after I had lost about two games of the peg jumping game they have on all the tables(which is pretty fast). Pot roast was tender and savory. Mashed potatoes were fluffy with just the right amount of chunks left for texture. Baby carrots were honestly about as good as I’ve ever tasted them. They were soft and buttery tasting. I would love to figure out how they make them so I can duplicate it at home. The only thing I didn’t particularly care for was the corn bread muffins. The texture was good. They had a nice and chewy outer crust with a moist center… they just didn’t taste like, you know, corn. All in all it was a pretty solid meal and I have no serious gripes with the service level or food quality.

Made the fatal error of giving this CB another chance. Horrible service from time we sat down at 10:55am it took until 11:47. Restaurant was maybe 40% full. Sat for almost 10 min before someone took our drink order. Wife ordered the chicken lunch special. Once food finally arrived she was told they had an issue and the dressing wasn’t made yet. She told the server that the dressing was the only reason she ordered the meal. She gave her no options other than she could have some extra Mac and cheese. I ordered sunrise sampler and was asked if I wanted my grits and gravy. Weird since I ordered a sampler(meaning I wanted a sample of the food). Once waitress left we never saw her again till time for check. Never got a refill on drinks. When she came back we just wanted to run. Never saw a manager in the store. We told the cashier about our experience and she just said I hope you give us another try. We explained we were local and this was another try after a previous not so good experience. She said ok never offered to get a manager. What a waste for such a good chain. Also Windows seals and ledges all had dust. Floor looked dirty(not just from a rush).

Have tried this location about 10 times since it opened. About half the time it is decent but others fare better. Last meal was to go or I would have sent two items back. Hash brown casserole was cold on the bottom with some water in the compartment indicating it was straight from the freezer. Wife’s baked potato was not done through. Used to live in nearby Lexington and the one off Newtown pike was consistently better.

You’ve been to one crackle barrel you have been to them all. Here is a pet peeve that I experienced with this visit. I love grilled chicken tenderloins. When a chef leaves them on the grill too long and blackens one side and then the service it to you with the burnt side down. You take a few bites and then have that carbon taste in your mouth that won’t go away. Yep it happened. I will be checking all my food on both sides before eating when we visit there again.

I mean, it’s a cracker barrel… You can’t set your expectations too high. The people were friendly, the food was ok. We were driving half way across the country and needed to stop to eat. I am not trying to be negative… But, you know, I don’t eat at chains often for this reason. Biscuits were good, grits were pretty lacking in flavor… The usual.

Wow!!! My first visit to a Cracker Barrel(we don’t have ‘em in Nevada). I now see why the parking lot is full!!! I had lunch there and was promptly seated and great by a waitress who called me darlin’… I love the south! I went with her recommendation of the day’s special… sliced turkey & gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes and biscuits. The food arrived quickly and was a full plate of hot and tasty food. Very, Very good!!! I was shocked by the ticket… my lunch was $ 5.99!!!(I only had water) I would’ve gladly paid $ 20, so I made that part the tip! Job well done Cracker Barrel.

Before I came to Frankfort KY, all I knew about Cracker Barrel was the little tubs of butter you get at grocery stores! Came here with a co-worker and she is as country as it gets! :p I have been hooked to this place ever since. Now I want their Rainbow trout at least 3 times a week! Can’t live without that amazing fish in my life anymore! And guess what the disadvantage is of that? I can now never ever come here and order anything but the Rainbow Trout for lunch :(:(Sigh. it is that amazing! And of course, nothing beats the typical southern hospitality — people here have big hearts and big appetites, and food flows constantly! I have never come here without finding the parking lot at least ¾th full! It is almost a walk from my work place(but of curse my lazy ass reaches there by car always), and I LOVE this place! Also, their unsweetened iced tea– some miracle. the raspberry flavor is just amazing! They have amazing biscuits — soft, yummy and oh soooo good and buttery! The grilled catfish is also amazing! The cajun seasoning is soooooo good! And the breakfast? Nothing beats it! I would get up and hour earlier than my usual time — just for their B’fast! :) Oh and. and and. the sweet baby carrots that come as a side to most entrees — oh man oh man! can’t beat those! Yummiest carrots I have ever had — and if I am to believe the servers, they add NO sugar to the carrots — simply steam them. But they are so amazingly sweet, you could make carrot cake out of them — no sugar needed! :p Did I mention their trout is amazing? Ok — now I want the trout. this very moment! Gotta go get it people!
