Where to begin… In a sea of mediocre«Mexican» restaurants in Framingham and the surrounding areas, this is by far in the top 5 worst. Extremely over priced. Bad service. Bland and cheap chips & salsa(only your first plate of chips is free). Portions are small for the price they charge.

The only reason they got 2 stars was because of chips and salsa. It was the only thing that had any flavor. I don’t know what the other reviewers had here but I didn’t get the same experience. We ordered a lot of things on the menu and it was all mostly bland, tasteless. The beef taco had a bizarre cat food like taste and texture. I usually agree with most of the positive Unilocal reviews but I was super disappointed with this one. No Bueno I’ve learned not to trust restaurants with crazy chairs. Our table also had some crusty sticky stuff on it. It clearly had net been washed.

I have bookmarked this place for a while and finally I came here for a nice lunch with my co-worker today. I was going to get chimichanga, which I think it would have been a great dish. But I ended up getting lunch portion of steak fajita, which was an amazing choice. As compared to the fajita in Texas, the fajita here was equally good. And it is in Framingham, MA, which means that I don’t need to make an expensive visit to Texas to eat decent Mexican food. The complimentary chips were warm and the salsa was definitely fresh. The lunch deals are pretty affordable and have generous portions. I highly recommened this local mom and pop restaurant.

I ate here last night solely because El Maya was closed early for some reason. Their burrito was not great. The best burritos around this area are at El Maya and Mexico City Taqueria in Ashland. The burrito here was something I’d expect from a chain restaurant. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t memorable at all. Chips and salsa were good, that’s about it.

Got takeout enchiladas. Chicken tasted like from the can. Chiptole sauce also tasted out of a bottle. Didn’t finish our food… It was so bad!

Moved to the area a few months ago and have been on the hunt for a good Mexican restaurant. Me and my husband vowed to never go to Margaritas again after going a few times and always regretting it. We decided to try this little gem last night and we were really impressed. The Aztec margarita was great, the food delicious and the service was friendly. We will definitely go again.

I love this place. The staff is friendly, portions are huge, and they have the best green hot sauce around. I never get a bad dish here, the chips are warm. I usually don’t order burritos at sit down restaurants but I change that here because everything is good.

Service: Very friendly waitstaff, difficult to get their attention at times though. Food: Average is the word. For appetizers we got something similar to the jalapeño poppers. They were pretty good. The entrée items — enchiladas, tamales, salads — were pretty average. Their hot sauce — the green sauce that’s in the bottle — was the best part. It was spicy and delicious. I used it on all my dishes. I got their original margarita — pretty good. Ambiance. Small, colorful. Summary: Average food, friendly waitstaff, nothing to go back for.

Great local place, but you gotta know where it is, If you blink you’ll miss it. Went with my parents for my brothers birthday recently, we all got something different and we all very very satisfied. My 7 year old doesn’t like spicy, and she ordered a burrito from the kids menu and LOVED it. Small place, great food. Can’t wait to take my husband there!

Despite some very positive reviews here on this establishment, which are responsible for our visit, our recent and very first experience was very disappointing for the following reasons: — While the quantity was generous, my shrimp fajitas was overcooked and rather tasteless. Many pieces of pepper were scorched. The pieces of shrimp were numerous, but tough, shriveled, and not juicy at all. The entire food on the hot plate was completely bland. — The tortillas felt perhaps as if thin cardboard sheets would taste(while I have never tasted them), and bland too. — The guacamole was not inspiring at all either. On the positive side, the waitresses were pretty attentive. In any case, the same dish at Margaritas is far superior in my opinion, although it usually comes with only 8 pieces of shrimp. I always finish the entire dish there, while I left about the half at The Aztec even though my stomach was not satisfied. We will not return.

Worst Mexican food! I don’t know how this place has good reviews. The food is pathetic. They charge 11% tax. however tax rate in Massachusetts is 5.2 And the do this thing so smarty you won’t even figure out. Never going to recommend anyone

Solid Tex-Mex food that is a little more authentic than what you get served at the average sit down Mexican restaurant in Massachusetts. The chips and salsa are quite good, the salsa even has a little kick to it. I had the pork chimichanga, which came with a spicy chipotle sauce. If you aren’t a spice fiend like me, this would probably be enough heat, but I would have enjoyed it a little hotter. The pork filling was nice and juicy without making the whole thing soggy. I generally don’t like rice and beans at Mexican places, but the Aztec’s were actually edible. In the summer, there is a nice little seating area in the parking lot.

The Aztec looks a little divey from the outside, but inside it’s bright and friendly. Dinner(margarita, tacos el pastor special) was good, definitely good value for money, and the place has a neighborhoody, family-friendly vibe. But dessert was a revelation: the homemade caramel flan, which our server told us she had made herself, was AMAZING. Deep, complex caramel flavor, velvety texture. I’ll go back for that alone.

Absolutely amazing food! I’ve been going here for years, and I have yet hear anyone who had a bad meal. Food is served hot and delicious, the service is quick and very affordable.

Yes!!! Go!!! Went on cinco de mayo… such friendly servers and great atmosphere. Food is properly priced and the portions are very large! We had the guacamole, tacos, and chicken quesadilla. All were delicious. The free chips are delicious as well! Definitely making this one of our regulars.

Seemed a little sketchy when we first walk in. A table full of Brazilian men looked my girlfriend up and down for an awkward 2 – 3 minutes while we waited for our table. Once I started staring back they looked away. It was really bright and ho in the dinner room. Like uncomfortably hot, not just a little too warm. Just one server who seemed to be doing everything on her own. Felt bad for her, but she was keeping up. My margarita was good but a little light on the tequila. The chicken tacos were amazing! Maybe the best I’ve ever had. Overall the food is awesome. The ambiance not such much. Think I’ll do take out next time but I will go back.

The Aztec totally surprised me. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere outside of Boston, but it serves one of the BEST(seriously) Mexican out there. It’s a little unassuming, but don’t let the location or shop fool you. The food – perfectly made. It had the right balance of everything on each plate. Cheese was delicious(and a little toasted), meat was juicy and tender, and fresh vegetables for the platters. Beers are pretty cheap, too. The Aztec is a must.

I just came back from spending a few days in Boston and had the privilege of trying the Aztec! Privilege because the food was way on point. It was a quiet Thursday night, but the bright beautiful Mexican color schemes made up for it. The service is very quick and efficient. Their chips are good and their salsa is great, although, it’s not very spicy. None of the food is spicy, and on any day I would have noticed, but the Aztec offers such great Mexican flavors I literally forgot to ask for fresh chilies or hot sauce until I completely finished my meal. This is VERY unlike me. I ordered the taco platter. Ya get three well portioned tacos. The corn tortillas were so fresh and hot. Rice and beans come with the 11 dollar plate. You can mix and match the meats. I tried all three: pork, chicken, and beef. Excellent. We also got a plate of the beef enchilada and fried pork taco combo. The pork taco made this entire meal. Not sure what they did to enhance and retain the juices that flowed out of it the taco. It’s messy, but so freakin’ good. I definitely recommend this meal. So glad Unilocal directed us here. We were going to try another joint in the neighborhood, but thankfully it was closed! We got lucky this beautiful New England night.

Cheese glorious cheese. If there is one thing Aztec understands it is my infatuation with all things cheese. Melt it on top, stuff it inside, wrap it up and fry it next to some type of meat and pico de gallo and you’ve got a happy camper. I’ve been coming to Aztec for years and whether you dine in or take out the dishes are consistently cheesy and wonderful. Enchiladas, Chimichangas, burritos, you name it, they’re melting cheese on it. I am especially a fan of the red sauce they use on both the enchiladas and«wet burrito»(a chimichanga, not fried). It’s got a robust tomato flavor that’s almost fresh, but then still knows it came from a jar. I want to give Aztec four stars but the truth is I really can’t. Though they claim to be authentic, it’s tex mex at it’s best. The refried beans are tasty but forgetabble, the salsa, is more tomato then anything and the guacamole is the same green bagged kind they sell in the produce section of Shaws. But, if your looking for fast mexican and guaranteed taste with huge portions for under 12 $ then Aztec is a go to in Framingham. They do do one thing absolutely 100% right. Their chips and salsa. I could live on a bag of those warm slightly salty crunchy devils.
