Great place for shopping authentic Taiwanese and Japanese products. Some of them can’t even be found in many other Asian grocery stores. The price is very reasonable since it sells all the imported items within the expiration /best before date!!!(Some Asian grocery stores I have been to in MA either sell expired items or remove the dates from the items.)

This place MIGHT be able to fill your pantry if you tend to cook Asian food. The things here are actually quite expensive and there aren’t that many selections. Because this place is small, they only have so much shelf space for all their items… that being said, they have a few basic essentials, but if you really want to stock up, I suggest going to H-Mart in Burlington or Cambridge. Prices in H-Mart are SLIGHTLY cheaper, but you definately have more selections(esp in the Burlington one!)

It’s a nice clean little market. I wish the owner can smile so customers will come back happily. She definitely doesn’t have welcoming facial expressions. Their opening time is not strictly followed. Go there later than it says on the door so you won’t be confused or annoyed.

Small, very clean Asian grocery store. Others have mentioned high prices but I didn’t think it was overly expensive. They have a little bit of everything… frozen, fresh, condiments, snacks, housewares. Came here specifically for fish balls and was happy with 3 choices to select from. They also have individual Korean seaweed packets and a large variety of sauces, noodles and rice. They have a store card for savings too! Small parking lot but looked like Formosa was the only business in the building.

This place is cool! I came here looking for unique foods, and I was not disappointed! They have fish, produce, frozen, ramen, candy, snacks, sauces… There are only a handful of products that I recognized from the chain grocery stores here. Most of what they have is imported. I found prawn chips, and a couple different varieties of ramen that looked good. Overall this is a fine place, and friendly! The prices are VERY reasonable too, ramen is cheap(some of the more«premium» ones are pricey BUT worth it!) and the prawn chips were what I expected to pay at around $ 2 for a BIG bag.

No, it’s not as cheap or varied as the larger Asian supermarkets located closer to Boston, but I can find most of what I want here for a fair price and it’s right in Framingham where I do all of my shopping already. It seems that there are mostly Chinese and Japanese products and I’ve been able to get most things here consistently. I’m not sure why the produce was complained about as I’ve gotten produce here multiple times and never had a problem. Everyone who works here is very pleasant and helpful. Love this place! :]

I bought a jar of pickled relish spread and I thought I just ate a tablespoon of salt. Had read the nutrition label and it said the sodium was under 400 not true at all. More like 1400mg. Having high blood pressure this not the product for me to eat. Went back to exchange this awful spread that cost $ 3.49 for a product I use all the time which was $ 3.69. Told since I opened it they could not make an exchange. Most stores will take it back if customer hates and can’t eat it but not this place. Guess customers satisfaction doesn’t matter to them. Will never ever set foot in that store again and will be telling all me friends how nasty they were to me. Left the awful jar of pure salt at counter and left. Lost my $ and my patronage for terrible customer service. If u have never tried something they sell there don’t ever buy it. Just throw it away. This place and employees suck big time.

Good to have an Asian supermarket in Framingham. More Chinese oriented. Pretty pricey though.

I guess I should be thankful of the fact that there is an Asian market place in Framingham to begin with. I think it was smart of them to open right below Sichuan Gourmet as well. The good thing about this place is that you can get a lot of your basic asian food ingredients. Soba, Curry, mirin, Korean instant noodles, Chinese pot stickers, Japanese soft drinks, green tea ice creams, and etc. If there is something missing that you would like to buy, you can always consult the owner to stock them in. They usually consider it and bring them in. The annoying thing about this place is that the owner still seems to be in experimental phase after being open for 2 years. I have no idea which Asian demographic this store is catering to. They often change their inventory up, so it’s kind of annoying have your favorite Japanese drink/Chinese potsticker gone the next time you visit when you enjoyed those for several months. Please be wary of expiration dates. Some of the items are definitely expired here. And the ones that goes on special deal is on a deal because they are about to expire within a week or so. The prices are definitely on the expensive side here. And From my experiences, don’t bother buying the vegetables because they are sooooooo bad here. I’m very thankful for the fact that this place exists right across where I live, and I hope this place improves further in the future.

As close as home I’ll ever get being from New York City. They have a lot of what I’m looking for without driving to Boston. Pretty good variety for such a hidden gem.

As another reviewer has said, good in a pinch to grab an ingredient or two that you need for a recipe, but even if I lived in the area this would not be the place to go in terms of value or variety for Asian cooking ingredients. I did find almost everything I needed to make kimchi over Christmas when I was back at my family’s house, but it was very expensive. That being said, if you’re ok with Whole Foods prices, this is pretty much on par. I would recommend H Mart in Burlington or Cambridge or even Super 88 in Brighton if you’re looking for a better deal and more variety. But I will still stop by Formosa when I’m at my parents’ house and need a couple specific things for a recipe. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

The staff is super friendly and the place is clean! It’s pretty small to me for an Asian market, but I’m used to very large markets for a much larger Asian population. The store has a card membership sitch like the big chains have too, which saved me some $ on rice :)

This place has everything someone would need to put together an awesome Asian meal! It also has some great Asian vegetables and also had a sizable selection of Asian sweets. Definitely a great place to find things you would not find anywhere else!

This place is good in a pinch with reasonable prices but definitely not the same as going to Chinatown. I think they need to increase their fresh food selection and add meat. Fish balls, cha siu, ground pork, pork bones etc.

On the plus side: Friendly staff, great selection of common items from Taiwan, clean store, and the only Chinese store I know of in metro west area. On the down side: Price is high compare to Chinatown or Quincy

This place is so close to my house! I found every ingredient I needed to make a Chinese dinner for friends; mu shi and hot and sour soup. Only thing they did not have was the mu shi pancakes. I tried upstairs at Schechan Gourmet, but they don’t make mu shi. I went to Lotus Flower and they happily and helpfully sold me a whole package plus hoisin sauce for $ 6. Quest over!

I like that Framingham has a new grocery store. I’m Chinese and I used to think Framingham had a small population of Asians. It is small but it’s really nice and clean. I like their small selection of produce, frozen foods, snacks, instant soups, and sauces. I don’t like the dumpling wrappers they have here(They are covered with cornstarch which makes it hard to close the wrappers.). I like how they have banana(or bamboo?) leaves and string. I like I might try to make my own 粽子. It’s not too expensive but cheap either. I don’t like the pack(50 sheets?) of seaweed they sell here(It just tastes so bad alone. But when it is with rice or mixed in with rice and vegetables, it taste okay.). I love lychee cups and they sell them here too! I love this store, other than some minor issues I have that are not related to the store at all.

There’s a new Asian Market in town, and it is hands down the best in the metro-west area of Boston, and on-par with some of the nicer Asian markets you will find in Boston /Cambridge proper. I accidentally found Formosa Asian Marketplace while looking for a different asian grocer(Asinayo market, which is now CLOSED), and I am very glad I did. This place has all the essentials for asian cooking ingredients and boasts a great selection of asian comfort foods, fresh, frozen, and canned! And the prices are great too. The place is clean and impeccably well maintained. Super selection of sauces? Check. Incredible selection of frozen dumplings, buns and dim-sum? Check. Asian produce, fresh and ready to use? Check. Snacks? YES. Candy? YES. Beverages including teas, coffees and juices? YES. Noodles? OFCOURSE. This place is small but packed with all the good stuff. I struck up a conversation with the owner, and she was great to talk with. She had good suggestions and was incredibly friendly to boot. This place is a gem. I’ll be back, probably on a weekly basis. I highly recommend checking Formosa Marketplace out. It’s going to be my go-to Asian market from now on, and I think it will be yours too.
