Let me start by saying even though the name is Beacon Café this not affiliated with the much better Beacon Café at Hicks Airfield. I have dined at the Hicks location twice and was blown away. My niece decided we would go to this location today because she picked me up from DFW and it was on the way home. It’s Sunday so we opted for the buffet breakfast. Warming: it’s a 1 trip only buffet! The migas was cold and pretty tasteless, sausage was dry, and you can’t order made to Oder eggs, omelettes or special pancakes like the Hicks location allows for Sunday brunch buffet. $ 10.99 is what we paid today and the $ 1 more you pay at the other location is well worth it. So disappointed today.

I can’t believe we waited so long to try Beacon Café! Our server was super knowledgeable, grabbed our drink order right away, and made my delicious Mocha Frappé. They have a full gourmet coffee bar and great menu of breakfast items! They serve lunch and dinner too. My boyfriend ordered the Beacon Breakfast and ate his entire plate. I ordered the«make your own» skillet and it was one of the best I’ve had! Their potatoes are delicious too! You should definitely give it a try!

Older gentleman was really nice, but that’s where the good part ended. Mom ordered a breakfast skillet and the eggs were not scrambled into it like you would think, rather over hard… I ordered a chicken sandwich, but the brioche bun was sopping wet as a result of the tomato and lettuce being placed directly on the plate while still wet. I really tried to eat mine, but I simply could not stomach it. soggy bread, bad chicken, OLDFRIES, awful experience.

Came on a Sunday. Horrible service. We were ignored for 15 min until we grabbed the hostess. Finally got a waitress to take drink orders. 15 more mins until we saw her again. The rest of the visit continued on like this. Food was mediocre and not worth the wait

Have been back to this café and was very disappointed. The service was poor and the food was just awful. Very greasy and over cooked.

This Beacon Café location is far from being near as good as the Hicks Airfield location. First, the good: No wait. We drive over here from the Hicks Airfield location because the line at the airfield had overflowed outside(about 50 people at least). The Beach location had no wait, we were seated right away. Okay, that’s where the good ends! Here is my take on why there is no wait: slow, I mean SLOW, slow service. Then there are those famous pineapple upside down pancakes. They were pretty decent but they are half the size at the same price as Hicks and the waiter forgot my bacon. This stuff never happens at Hicks. They are awesome at Hicks and I give that location 5 stars. I wish the Beach location measured up, unfortunately it doesn’t so next time I’m sticking with my favorite Beacon Café at Hicks Airfield!

Went to this place for the first time a month or so ago. It was good and service was decent. We went again this morning and it was horrible. We were there for 2 hours. It took an hour to get our food, at which point it was cold and some of the orders were wrong/incomplete. We ordered more pancakes because the first batch was wrong. They didn’t come out until after everyone else was done eating. The kitchen got the order wrong for my pregnant sister, made her wait, and the manager/owner had the nerve to give her attitude when she asked for a to-go box for her pancakes. Then we waited another 30 minutes just to get the checks. They were wrong. Waited another 15 and we were finally out of there. Won’t be going back due to this experience.

Not coming back… Food takes forever, simple scrambled eggs and toasts about 35+ mins. Restaurant wasn’t even full… Servers are usually overwhelmed when is full, they should hire more help. Coffee was cold and food greasy. So sorry, we used to like this place a lot.

I will be writing a bad review on a company and while I do fuss sometimes, I rarely do this because I don’t want to hurt someone’s business. Today was a bit much though. I went to a small restaurant this morning for breakfast and to pass the time while my daughter was at gymnastics, sitting at their bar area. It was the Beacon Café, 10760 Beach in Keller TX, next to an Albertsons. I watched as a man drank out of a plastic cup while preparing to make a cold Café drink in the blender. He then used the same cup he drank out of and put the blended Café drink in the cup, all the while sticking his fingers in and out of his mouth to clean them with his saliva. To put an interesting spin on this, the man put a lid on the cup with a straw still having paper on one end… giving the appearance of neatness and good hygiene. I watched him walk over and give this to a customer. I called the lady over who was serving me, asked her if he was the manager and told her what the man did. Turns out she was the owner and he was her husband. She was polite. She walked over to the table and got the cup from the table and pulled her husband aside. The man came over to me, looked me straight in the eyes and basically called me a liar. I don’t back down because that’s not how I roll, although I did keep my cool and let him know I did see him and told them it wasn’t right. He walked away and then washed his hands… first time I saw him do that. I did not eat the breakfast but I did pay the bill without complaint there, telling her«if you want your business to do well I would talk to him… you never know who is watching.» She was still polite although his behavior was unacceptable. So that’s my story for the day. No I’m not the germ police, but I would not want someone else’s funky amalaze washing my food down and would want someone to speak up if it were me.

Yesterday we thought we would give Beacon a try again. When we walked in only about half the tables had customers seated and no gas smell so that was a plus compared to last visit. As we patiently waited and waited and waited and waited(seriously) to be seated, the attendant nodded at us a few times, but he didn’t even approach us until someone else came in the door and got in line behind us, at which point he came over and said we would have to wait another 10 – 15 minutes before we could even be seated. What’s the point of so many tables if you can’t even just seat waiting customers??? Obviously we left so we could find a place that would serve us breakfast before it was lunch time. First time we went: Natural gas smell was so strong I thought I was going to be sick before we even had a chance to order. Mentioned it to our server and apparently other guests had mentioned it too. Why wasn’t something done about it? Took sodas to go and left :( We won’t be back to get disappointed a third time

Let me start off by saying, the food was good, but not worth the experience. My husband and I wanted to try a new breakfast spot on Saturday morning. He found this place and we thought perfect. We walked in and the hostess was scratching her nose. She continued scratching it and said, «I’m sorry, hold on.» Finally, she quit and seated us. We were at the table next to the hostess’ booth. The restaurant was busy, but not over crowded. After 10 minutes, our clearly flustered waitress comes over to take our drink orders. I don’t know why we didn’t get up and leave at this point, but we tried to be optimistic. It took her another 10 minutes to bring our waters and take our food order. Still trying to be optimistic. Finally, 35 minutes later, our food arrived. It was really good, probably some of the best bacon I’ve ever had. As we were eating, a group of about 5 walks in. The hostess is bussing tables and comes over to greet the group. Our still flustered waitress walks up to the hostess and yells, «DONOTSEATINMYSECTION.» The hostess is clearly mortified in front of this group, as we’re all staring. She calmly responds, «I can’t really do that,» and the waitress responds, «I CAN’T HANDLEIT.» Okay, if the restaurant was crazy busy, I get it, but it was MAYBE three-quarters full. One person in the large group turned to their friend and said, «this place has excellent food, but the service is terrible.» YIKES, not a good reputation if you ask me. We didn’t see the waitress for about 15 minutes and needless to say, our credit card was out on the table ready to go when she finally arrived. I feel like we couldn’t get out soon enough. We won’t be returning until service is better, which… hopefully that’ll be soon.

Yikes. What a bad experience. Had not been here since they stopped their brunch buffet. Décor changed from aviator to «beach.» They have the hostess cleaning off the tables(yuck). She couldn’t really focus well, so we waited a very long time. Was told later they didn’t have a «bus boy.» We waited and waited once we were seated. Our server walked by us over a dozen times. The coffee tasted strange… the food was way too salty and some of it came to us refrigerator cold. Apparently they charge $ 1.25 for syrup because we never got any syrup. My husband ordered the steak & eggs and the steak was tiny and was flavorless. Eggs cold and overcooked. The A-1 steak sauce had been watered down to a runny mess. Not cool. We finally spoke to the manager and he was full of detailed excuses. Very sad. Cannot imagine returning to this restaurant. I’m going to quote a other Unilocaler«disorganized and poorly run business.»

Place was packed at 10:50am on Saturday so we knew it would be good. We got seated right away at a booth. The décor is really cute with a nice red color wall and high industrial ceilings which remind me of places I frequent in New York. Our waitress Allison R was at our table in less than a minute taking our drink order. Those came out fast. I got the Sea Turtle Latte and not only was she pretty she was delicious! We ordered after that. I got the Eggs Alexander which came with potatoes and fruit. The eggs were cooked perfectly and that hollandaise was to die for! I think they even buttered the English muffin giving it a nice rich flavor. My husband got eggs over easy, sausage, bacon, and the Beacon pancakes, which he said were delicious. So glad we found this little gem. We will be coming back time and time again.

We decided to try this place since we had a Groupon. We had just finished a Gymboree class with our son and figured noon on a Thursday would be the perfect time to go! We were seated immediately and right by the window which was great because my son likes to look out at the cars driving by. I didn’t get to look at menu before our waitress Katrina, asked our drink order so I missed out on all the cool coffee concoctions they had. I ordered French toast with bacon and scrambled eggs. It ended up coming with potatoes too. My husband got the cheeseburger and fries. Everything tastes really good and we had enough to share with our toddler son. We hadn’t spent the full amount of our Groupon($ 20) so we added a cinnamon roll to go. It barely made it home! It was delicious but I managed to save some for my husband to eat tomorrow morning. So that just goes to tell you, you can get 2 adult meals for under $ 20! Love it! Our waitress was very friendly, a little slow but that’s understandable because she was the only waitress and I think she was new. The owner came by and talked to us and said hi to our son and even gave us a free cup of milk for him which I really appreciated. All in all we will come back due to their friendly service, good food and I really want to try their coffee bar! UPDATE: I’ve come here many times with my son and there is a young man waiter that is always there(I swear I’m going to catch his name and remember next time!) and he is always super friendly and checks on us constantly. The prices can be a little a high for some items but all in all it is a friendly place with good food and an awesome coffee bar! Try the French Vanilla Carmel Macchiato! My fav! UPDATE: Well the same waiter guy is still there and basically the only one working. We went on a weekday for breakfast and it was pretty busy. We waited like 20 minutes or more till he could finally take our order. I can see people really like the food but they really need to hire more people. I usually go with my toddler son and waiting such a super long time to order, get our food and for the check is not something I feel like doing again.

We’ve only had their breakfast but we’re hooked. The gluten free pancakes are the best we’ve had and I know the owner searched far and wide to find the best tasting batters available. Great service. Nice environment. We are headed back for breakfast now!

Read like 2.5 Nice place — came on a Sunday. The food looked great as we traveled to our table — so I am kinda excited. Three plates of Benedicts ordered, with a side of pancakes(for an extra 7 dollars LOL). Benedicts are all about the hollandaise sauce — if its not good, then why do it? This sauce was nice, tangy and good. The potatoes were crisp and oven roasted, and I applaud the person who DICED the pineapples the same size as the blueberries for the fruit medley. So… why 3 stars? The service. It started off very well and quickly dropped off from indifference to disregard(and they forgot my pancakes… said they were coming, but they never showed). Manager came over to see how we were, let her know, and had them removed. YAY? Everyone was nice — but the service left a bad taste…

We stopped here for brunch today, we arrived shortly after noon and were seated immediately. Alison was our server and she got our drink order right away a hot tea for me and a sweet tea for my husband. We order shortly after we received our drinks. My husband ordered a breakfast burrito with a side of bacon and I choose the Reuben with the oven roasted potatoes. My Reuben was stuffed to the brim with corn beef, it was delicious. My husband loved his burrito and is still talking about it. Can’t wait to go back again!

SHORTVERSION: Good food but slow service. Not the fault of the waiter — they are just shorthanded. And they’re proud of their iced tea– they charge you FOURBUCKS for a glass. What!!! LONGERVERSION: Found this place because I bought a Groupon for it and was excited to try something new. Overall, the place was pretty good. Their menu definitely favors breakfast as there are many breakfast selections and fewer options for lunch/dinner. They serve breakfast all day… Holla! As I said, the lunch menu is somewhat limited, however, there is a decent variety of sandwiches and burgers and a few other entrées. I got the chicken quesadillas and they were actually really good. They came with black beans on the side, however, I am not a fan of beans and chose to get potatoes on the side instead. The potatoes had good flavor as well. My fiancé got the grilled chicken sandwich and he enjoyed it quite a bit. For dessert, we had a brownie with ice cream on top. The brownie was delicious, however, the brownie was served cold even though I requested it be warm… so that was kind of a downer. :( The service is indeed somewhat slow. They only had one waiter working on a Wednesday at lunch time(noon) — and at one point, I just counted nine tables that he was in charge of. The waiter was working his butt off… You could see him hustling, but he was overwhelmed. They are shorthanded. I did see a «now hiring sign» but the point is– it did make for slower service. In conclusion, we will come back. We saw several things on the breakfast menu that looked really yummy!!! BUT we won’t be ordering iced tea again… Still can’t believe they charge $ 4 for regular ol’ iced tea!
