I don’t come here often but when I do it makes me happy. I think I enjoy this place more for lunch instead of dinner. I really like the salad available. If I was here for dinner I cannot leave without a mambo taxi. That makes me happy every time. Friendly servers area well.

Always enjoyable. They have fancied up the place and it looks great, it was great before, but they’ve expanded and such, it’s fantastic! Food is always, always good.

The Ernie’s Chicken with Poblano Cream Sauce is the most delicious thing I have EVER. EATEN. IN. MY. ENTIRE. LIFE. And I love food so there is plenty of competition for that title. It was creamy, comforting, full of interesting flavor. The cream sauce was smooth as silk and the chicken was so tender I probably could have eaten it with a spoon. My husband got the Cocina Changa, I think it was called? Also phenomenal. He was blown away. This would get five stars except that the music(at least when we went, last night) was loud and kind of ruined the ambiance, we thought. It was like dance club music and too loud to even hear the server. The place is beautiful and classy and looks like a nice hotel restaurant. Don’t ruin it with club music. Try«Disclosure radio» on Pandora ;) Just a suggestion. We’ll be back many times I’m sure! Really a lot of detail and thought put into the food and presentation, absolutely delicious.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on Mi Cocina so decided to try it out. The restaurant was uncrowded around 5:30 when we walked in. We were immediately seated and then waited 5 minutes to place our drink order. From the beginning, the waitress was unprofessional and rude. Our drink orders were wrong, and didn’t even receive an apology. We waited forty minutes for our food. Our fajitas came out cold, and my friend’s tacos came back cold and served with a salad that looked like it had been out for hours. We asked to speak to a manager, but all she did was give excuses for the bad service. She promptly walked away, and left us at the table questioning how this would be resolved. After more than 5 minutes, we had to go look for the manager who then told us she sent someone to relay the message that our cold food would be on the house. No one came to tell us that. Needless to say, I will never go back to Mi Cocina.

I want to like this place but I just cant! My last couple of times I have been, my food was served«not hot», as in never got warmed to the correct temperature. Lukewarm cheese enchiladas! Yuck! Service staff is great but they just can’t make up for poor quality food at a high quality price! Too many locally owned Mexican food restaurants that are top quality food at a reasonable price! Step it up there Mi Cocina!

Best Carne Asada I’ve ever had! Tacos and Nachos Mi Tierra are a must. Service was great. Always a good experience here.

Good service… nice décor… but ultimately, you go to a restaurant to eat, and the food was simply not good. For almost $ 40, we had a lunch of lackluster salsa, grainy queso(not even sure how that happens), and the most bland fajitas I’ve ever tried. Mi Cocina, «mi» no more.

Road trip stop. My son was selected to participate in a National Football Kicking completion in Arlington Heights(Fort Worth) Texas. During our lunch break we ventured across the street to Mi Cocina. When in Texas it is always good to check out Mexican food places. This one looked inviting and we were hungry after all the traveling from Wisconsin. The service was amazing. Samuel was very accommodating and professional. We were served water and 2 bowls of salsa and warm crisp tortilla chips once seated. I ordered the chipolte grilled chicken salad and my son ordered the chicken enchiladas with a double serving of rice. We were both completely satisfied with our meals and the prices were reasonable. We never once had to ask for refills of water or salsa. The service and food was as it should be, perfect.

I really like the brisket tacos. Chips and salsa are good. The service here is always good for me. The environment is good. I would suggest it.

Chips and salsa are good, as is the guac, but the chicken molé enchiladas were TERRIBLE along with the obligatory rice and beans– ALL were very TV dinner quality. They also don’t have a bar? Just margarita machines. And can’t offer oranges or cherries? Pathetic. A note to the wait staff– BRINGFRESHCHIPSWITHYOUBEFOREYOUREMOVETHEOTHERBOWL! DUH! As we sat for 5 minutes with guac but no chips at one point!

NOT authentic! Décor is beautiful and wait staff are professional. The food is a step above fast food. Far too corporate for me. I’d prefer that wait staff cook the food! Then we’d get authentic homemade food. I hope their«chef» go back to basics or corporate lets the chef cook. Not sure what the problem is but it was a BIG miss for me. Clean rest rooms.

I’m not exactly sure why we keep going here. I’m less and less impressed every time. There is no place to wait for a table, so at busy times people are jammed in around the revolving door at the hostess stand and what ever you do DONOT go wait upstairs at the 6 seat bar. Twice now, we’ve gone to have a drink up there while we waited and twice we’ve been crossed off the list(even though I specifically told them that’s where we’d be) and passed over for a table. The hostesses are unfriendly and so is the wait staff. The only bright spot in the staff was the man serving us chips and salsa. With the abundant Mexican food in FTW, I think we’ll find someplace else from now on.

I arrived after the lunch rush was over, so I got right in AND my food came out very quickly. Everything tasted good, and I really like their(unsweetened) iced tea. It had that nutty fresh-brewed flavor, very good.

Mi Cocina and I have a love-hate relationship. It’s slowly turning into a love relationship. 9 years ago when we moved here, Mi Cocina was one of the first mexican restaurants we tried in Texas. I hated that they give you sodas in a can, our food came out cold one time, and the fajitas had little to no meat to them. Fast forward to 2014 and my husband wants me to try it again. His work gets it alot for lunch and said it’s good. It’s been awhile Mi Cocina(5 years) deserves another chance! We were in Keller one day and decided to try it. The Keller location is better than this location. Not so busy and the parking is not such a hassle. The salsa and chips are good! They have my favorite– queso blanco. I usually eat the Mama’s chicken con Hongos. Chicken with onions and mushrooms on a platter fajita style. My husband gets the Tacos Mi Tierra. Street tacos basically with Serranos. So good, but VERY spicy. Prepare to hurt for a couple of days.

The atmosphere is nice. Since its during the holidays, they had all decked out in Christmas decorations. When we first arrived it was a white large crowd at the door. This could be a good sign. If a lot of people are here it must be good right? And indeed it was! We first started off with queso with brisket meat. We normally always judge our Mexican restaurants on the hot sauce and queso. We always get queso with beef in it. However, they had the option of getting it with brisket meat. We had to try it and we are glad that we did! Anything with the brisket in it on the menu was delicious. I got the Fernando plate. It was kind of like a combination plate more on the traditional side. I had the pueblano chicken enchilada, spinach enchiladas, some type of corn tortilla stuffed with the sunset sauce, and a brisket taco. ATTENTION: The sunset sauce is not advertised as hot. It is a hot queso. They need to fix that on their menu. The pueblanos chicken enchilada with pueblano cream sauce is hands down the best chicken enchiladas that I have ever had in my entire life. Yes, I am being dramatic however it was very delicious. :)

We come here quite often and we do enjoy it! The fajitas are good and the inside atmosphere is nice, the second floor bar is cool but also kind of small. We have been to multiple Mi Cocina locations and this one has definitely always been reliable. The food has tasted good every time, and the service has been good every time. Overall good place! If you are looking to go somewhere good in the Arlington Heights area Mi Cocina is definitely a good place to be!

Kind of an upscale Mexican place. Nice atmosphere and amenities. I thought the food was ok, but nothing special. Seems a little less spicy than most Mexican food places around here. I had the lunch fajitas and the meat was good, but there really wasn’t much there, even for a lunch portion. This location is in an upscale strip mall type area. As another reviewer noted, the parking can be a pain. I don’t know if I would go out of my way to come here again. If I were in the area, maybe, but I kind of doubt, with all of the other Mexican food options nearby, that I would make a special trip.

I really like Mi Cocina and I never know why I don’t go there more. This was my first time going to this location other than the over crowded parking lot, I prefer this location to the downtown location. There are so many windows and the high ceiling give it a ultra modern look. The drinks well always good and this time I tried the Dilemma instead of the Mambo Taxi. It was delicious until the last drop. The food was top quality as always and no problem to customize my meal. We had a party of 18 and we didn’t have any problems with seating. Next time I’m in the mood for Mi Cocina unless I’m doing something downtown, I’ll head to Hulen.

I love this place. This is not a typical Tex Mex restaurant. Mi Cocina seem to be a notch above a Tex Mex place. Not that Tex Mex is bad, I love Tex Mex. But Mi Cocina is a little different in a good way. This location at Hulen and I 30 is a very nice restaurant. Sometime you have a wait to be seated. But it is worth the wait. Casual dress and a little trendy atmosphere. The food is awesome I like the fajitas made sunset style. Very good. And the brisket tacos are the best. They have different flavor rice that come with the meals. And they are also good. The chips a dip are free and you can have plenty of them. One day I may try the other food on the menu. They do have a variety of item to order. And I sure they are all good. The alcohol drinks are good. And they go will with the meal. Price about the same as other places.

Just had lunch here for a co-workers birthday. Already, I love this place. It is beautiful and definitely qualifies as a date-night type place. It’s cozy and modern, with huge windows, an open floor plan and mezzanine, and is colored with earthy beiges and browns. We sat on the second level and we could see the guests below. The chairs are comfy and so nice! Even the booths looked upscale but comfortable. I felt very posh eating here for lunch! You will see people dressed down but dressy casual also fits well for Mi Cocina. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, and brought out individual bowls of salsa for everyone(double-dipping anyone?!). The tortilla chips here have a lovely crunch and stand up well to salsa, queso, or guacamole(their’s is fresh and velvety!). We did have to ask him to refill our waters, but that is hardly a complaint because our service was great. The lunch menu is extremely reasonable! I was surprised that the lunch specials were only $ 8.95! Most lunch items come with some combination of enchiladas, tacos, burritos, rice, and beans. Chalupas, quesadillas, soups and salad are also on the menu. Drinks(ie. soda or lemonade) are a little under $ 3. I had the Sunset Enchiladas, which came with rice and beans. The portion sizes are just right. My enchiladas were yummy and lighter than other enchiladas I’ve had at Mexican restaurants. I thought the Sunset sauce would be spicier, but I still enjoyed my meal. The Rico salad was the most popular choice at our table. It was a leafy green salad accented with bacon, cheese, red cabbage, and slices of chicken. While the inside is beautiful, check out the outdoor patio! I am not sure if it is open yet, as we didn’t see anyone sitting outside, but it looks like it’ll be lovely once it opens! Mi Cocina, Mi Cocina, I’ll be back!
