It’s Update Review Time! I’ve been going to Galligaskin’s anytime I’m in Fort Worth for the past few years and the quality and service has never faltered. Staff is always friendly and engaging and more than willing to answer any questions I have and make any accommodations I might request. So far as the food: do yourself a favor, regardless of what you order; get a side of the fried zucchini. I don’t know WHY it’s so good, but it IS. So do it. And you’re welcome. If you decide on any of their subs I would also suggest getting a cup of the broccoli and cheese soup to dip that sub in. Heaven. My go to sub is the Egg and Cheese; extra mayo. They offer three sub sizes to curb any appetite and can make any order a combo, adding a side and a drink. I’m a Galli fan in a big way and look forward to coming here anytime work sends me up to Fort Worth. In fact, I had it last night. And it was delish.

My first time to eat here. I have heard many good things about Galligaskin’s over the years. I had the #10 Italian Cold Cut submarine sandwich combo with tator tots. Well it lived up to everything that I’ve been told. The sandwich was GREAT! The bread was very fresh the meats and cheeses were great and all the veggies were very crisp. Yet another restaurant that I wish were closer to where I live.

This is an excellent place and best for philly-style cheese steaks! Can’t beat these cheese steaks anywhere in Fort Worth. Frequented this spot for years since my teen years, never disappointed. The cold subs like the«cold cut combo» is a winning sub. I’ll always be back.

Today I had a very nice hamburger, with potato salad on the side. I love the combination of the cherry pepper relish on the burger, with a little bit of extra jalapeños at my request. The potato salad has just the right amount of mustard in it, it is very tasty. Today I managed to leave an electronic device at the restaurant, and didn’t realize it for over two hours. When I called, sure enough, the staff had my device waiting for me at the register. What a great group of folks, what great sandwiches and hamburgers.

Love love love this place. Did I mention that I love this place? Let me tell you what you won’t find here. You won’t find a run of the mill sandwich glopped with condiments. What you will find is an awesome sub sandwich handcrafted by a sandwich artist made to your specifications. Toasted if like. The philly cheese steak is hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s piled high with succulent roast beef and topped with melted cheese. Then to make a great thing even better they add a ton of veggies with some diced sweet peppers for added flavor. This place has been around forever and with the sandwiches they’re creating they will remain a force in the sub business. Check them out you will be glad you did and your taste buds will thank you, once they recover from sensory overload.

Great food great service. Add the chicken fried steak to the scrambled egg and cheddar. if you regret it, it won’t be cause it tastes bad.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place from Fort Worth natives so I was looking forward to trying it. I love local businesses so I hate to give a bad review but this did not live up to my expectations. I had the cheese steak and it was not that good. It tasted like roast beef sandwich meat chopped up with a little bit of cheese on a room temperature roll. If your looking for a great cheese steak skip this place.

I stopped for s sandwich early in the morning. I wasn’t impressed. The person who took my order was friendly and attentive. The bread was stale and dry. The dry herbs they sprinkled on it were not my thing. They use iceberg lettuce, which I know is common, but it’s also worthless nutritionally and flavor-wise. The peppers they use are almost half seeds. I ended up just eating the ham and cheese off of my sandwich, which served its purpose, but wasn’t really very enjoyable.

These are some of the best subs in town. I don’t think you will go wrong with anything on the menu. I’ve tried the Egg Salad, Spicy Italian, Italian Sausage and Pepper subs. All are top rate. Good ingredients and fantastic bread. The staff is friendly and service is good.

This place has something for everyone. Great staff, family friendly atmosphere and excellent portions for what you pay for. Subs are killer as well as their Philly cheesesteak. I haven’t had many good Phillis in Texas but this one takes 1st place… Good job Galligaskins. I will be back.

Stopped here for some take out, based on a friend’s recommendation. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is fun and old school. Ordered a Galli Deluxe and a side of fries. It was a good deli sub, and the fries were crisp and fresh. The wait time was a smidge long, but not anything crazy. It’s not the best deli sub I’ve had, but it was good enough that I’d be back.

I think they are a little on the pricy side, but was happy with my food and liked the home cut fries. It’s a bit of a hole-n-the-wall and parking is difficult.

Me and Big Stoaker with here for lunch today. We have decided that that was the best cheese steak we had ever had. Will eat it once a week. Great friendly staff answered all question and was very warm and welcoming.

The website states they have been baking the same Boston bread since they opened… WRONG! This is not the same bread that I remember from the early 80’s. The old bread stood up better to the oil and vinegar. Did not get soggy so fast… I use to love some Galligaskins I will admit the fixings are almost the same the bread just isn’t right to me for my memories.

I had the Italian Sub. The sandwich was good but I am with another reviewer that it lacks something extra to push it over the norm. The restaurant is older which is good if you like nostalgia. Personally, i am a fan of the 70’s and the less modern look is an interesting twist for me.

For those of you that have read my reviews, people realize quickly, I’m from New Jersey, and I’m protective about food that is local to the state and how places try to duplicate but can never quite get it. I am fanatic about NJ pizza and of course, sub sandwiches. It’s hard to replicate a really good sandwich when I do have a very high standard in a little shop from Edison, NJ. But I have heard some pretty good things about Galligaskin’s. Funny name, but props for calling it a submarine sandwich. The place has been around since 1972… so it’s as old as me… hmmmm. I will say the interior of the place probably hasn’t changed much since then. But being that it has been around for 40 years, they must be doing something right. As the other reviews have stated, the bread is key, and yes, it is soft. But it could stand a little more taste to it, and it could be a little sturdier. When you add the veggies, oil mix and some vinegar, it can get soggy and messy rather fast. I had the Galla #22, with Ham Turkey and Roast Beef. All subs come with your standard shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced onions, oil mix and they add sweet cherry peppers. I added some jalapenos as well. Gotta have the heat. They have a good selection of hot and cold subs as well as breakfast subs too. So you can go any time of the day and find something good. They have cheesesteaks, but I’m a skeptic of cheesesteaks outside of Philly, with the exception of Fred’s. It was a pretty good sub. Obviously better than your big chains but I will say I’m still more of a fan of Jersey Mike’s. They fully understand what a sub is suppose to be and many places could learn a few things on how to make a good sub. I will go back, because as I stated, they have many choices, and I want to have another go-round. Enjoy.
