We had a wonderful two-night stay here. Thanks, Mike and Suzy! The Presidential Suite had a large, extremely comfortable bed and a large Jacuzzi —- very comfortable and restful. The highlight was two spectacular breakfasts, different each morning, with home-grown ingredients. They were so good that we bought Suzy’s recipe book. This was our first time in Fort Smith and, from what I understand of the conventional hotel options, this HAS to be a far superior alternative. When we come back, we’ll book here without thinking twice.

If you need lodging in Fort Smith, stay here! Giving Beland Manor a solid 5 stars for being everything you could want out of a quaint B&B in Fort Smith, Arkansas. It’s an old house with old-fashioned furnishings and decorations, but all very well-kept. The hostess was wonderful(her husband was out of town). Our family occupied two rooms, and we found everything to be clean and in good condition. Loved the décor, the common room, the video selection, the complimentary beverages and homemade cookies, the comfortable beds, the lovely table settings in the dining room, and the delicious freshly-prepared breakfast! Reasonable prices, gracious host, clean quarters, convenient location. The only thing that might be an issue for other guests is that the property is adjacent to Rogers Ave, the main route through town, so traffic noise could pose a potential problem for a light sleeper(it was NOT an issue during our 1-night stay — we could hear trucks going by, but it wasn’t loud enough to prevent us from sleeping like logs!) Also, our window coverings were not«black-out» so with outside street lights filtering through the shades, it was a little lighter in the room than I’m used to at home… but again, I only noticed these things when I first went to bed and after I woke up from a good night’s sleep in the morning. Oh, and our hostess made excellent recommendations for local restaurants to try, with a stack of menus to browse as we made our selection, as well as a great variety of maps and brochures about the surrounding area! So glad we stayed here!

This was a first-rate experience, from the welcome to the breakfast and everything in between. The home is full of memorabilia. In the President’s room the Jacuzzi worked perfectly, and the bed was unusually comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water. The Innkeepers are personable and full of stories. Coffee is on the landing in the early morning, and the entire stay was B&B at its best — we felt like friends visiting someone’s home.

When I first realized I was going to book a trip to Fort Smith for work, I looked up local hotels. There is a plethora of highway hotels, you know, the ones we all know by name and chain. For once, I wanted something different, something more cozy, after all it is the week before Christmas and I am away from home. So there she is, Beland Manor B&B on the Chamber of Commerce website. I looked it up on google, found plenty of great reviews so I booked a room. I brought one of my team members to train, so he too booked a room here. Having made the mistake of booking our flights through Little Rock, hitting normal winter delays, we found ourselves much later than expected, this all was ok by the owners. They were understanding and came to door to let us in even though we were a few hours later than check in time. So far, so good. The reception was warm and welcoming, I had booked the Antoinette room and my colleague booked the Frontier room. Both were cozy and clean. I had imagined this shared bathroom setup, but not at all, we each have a private bathroom. On top of all of this, there is a great room with a treadmill(which is awesome after eating non-california portion sizes!), sofas, chairs, tv, lots of movies, etc… There is also a small kitchenette with fridge and microwave. There is a tv in each of our rooms along with a DVD player, full range of channels to watch as well. Hmmm, compared to a highway hotel, for the same price or cheaper you get all of the coziness and warmth of being in a home?! So I never sleep well when I travel, call it what you will but I was much more comfortable here than in a hotel. Now, let’s get to the basics, water pressure — A+, water temperature — A+(although I did accidentally scald myself but that is my own fault!), cleanliness — A+, room temperature — B(coming from California I know I probably can’t cope with cooler room temps, so this is subjective). Okay, so Breakfast… After eating a hefty dinner at Bravo I thought I would skip breakfast but I couldn’t. First course was a yogurt and fresh fruit mix, wonderful! I wouldn’t have expected pomegranate and pineapple in the winter here, but it was very good. Here is the part that I loved… French toast with pecans and syrup. I normally loathe pancakes and french toast. It just is my own thing from having to eat them so much as a child. Plus syrup is usually way too overpowering for my palette. Not this french toast. I ate every single bite of it and deep down I know I would have ate more. It was decadent. Hands down, yummy. We are here for a couple more days, but I am so happy already with my stay, just thought I would give them a glowing review. p. s. they have fast wi-fi UPDATE — 12⁄20 — Delicious breakfast every morning, Suzy is an amazing foodie at heart. I love her flavors and pairings, she uses fresh fruits and foods. So glad we stayed here and not some highway hotel!
