This business is currently closed for some reason. I visited not two days ago during indicated business hours, the doors were locked, lights were off and there is a sign on the door indicating closure. Phones are not responding. Shame, because I was eager to try it out, there aren’t a lot of other Indian Restaurants anymore in the Fort Lee vicinity.

They got a small white buddha-man statue(+ 1 star) greeting you as soon as you walk in; perhaps a sign to practice your patience? After having been seated with a menu, mi padre and I waited for about 10 minutes or so. Even then, no one came over to take our order, or at least have the decency to provide us with just a simple glass of water. Was the restaurant busy? No, there was only one other customer besides us and it seemed as if they were not being served either. I had to personally go in the kitchen to ask if they could take our order. One guy told me to wait a bit with no clear explanation at all as to why I had to a buddhist monk. After another 10 minutes or so, I decided to just peace the f out and go eat at So Kong Dong Tofu instead.

Blue Lotus has two locations, one in Fort Lee and the other in Jersey City. From the moment you walk in, you notice the bright green wall decorated with white decal flowers and a huge budah looking statue. Tables are nicely set up, but both times I arrived the restaurant was dead with only another table or two dining as well, not a good sign expecially on the weekends. They are dead for a reason, food is not impressive at all. In fact, made my boyfriend and I sick after dinning here. They offer a large buffet, but nothing remotely tastes authentic. Samosa was bland, garlic naan was dry and hard, goat Curry was greasy and loaded with bones and fat. Rice is gross, chicken tikka masala was flavorless and wasn’t remotely spicy. I’ll stop here, but the mango lassie was pretty good and so were the macaroons which were of course store bought. Service is lacking, they don’t seem to care and just stare at you the whole time you’re eating which is very uncomfortable. I feel bad for them, but if your staff and chefs don’t know what they’re doing, Blue, you won’t last for long.

Tried ordering online as it gave me the option to do so. After it was doing weird things for a while, I decided to call to make sure my order went through. Well, tried that a couple times on both numbers. After several attempts, I finally got a hold of them and ordered via the phone after they informed me that they no longer use the online service. Asked to get a call on my cell instead of having front desk calling the room phone and waking the baby up. The guy was super understanding but when the food came, guess what phone rang? Very frustrating! That was all before I even tasted the food. We had butter chicken, chicken korma, garlic naan and mango lassi. Butter chicken was not on par to other places we have been to, korma was pretty tasteless, garlic naan was thin and stale. Mango lassi was fairly decent though. For this price point, you might as well go to a restaurant in the city.

I went with a friend for dinner. We went exactly at 5pm on a Wednesday. It was completely empty, which was nice and kind of weird because we were the only ones there. The location is a little funny, as I’m sure other fellow Bergen County-residents will acknowledge that awkward fork/merging point at Main Street and River Road. The parking was SOHARD for me to find. But my friend found the parking lot(YESTHEREIS A PARKINGLOTLOOKCAREFULLY!!!) quite easily(she was driving from River Road). I had a harder time finding it as I was coming from Main Street. What I ordered: — Bahari Shrimp — Chicken Tikka Masala The shrimp was fantastic! I definitely recommend it. I wish there was more. I think there was about 5 big pieces of shrimp, because I remember having to share the last one with my friend. The sauce was quite awesome and if I had more naan, I would have cleaned the plate with it. Chicken Tikka Masala was also pretty good. But not the best that I have had. The chicken tasted kind of generic, but the sauce was still good, so that definitely saved the dish. Unfortunately I haven’t explored much of their menu enough to really give a good review, but just from my personal experience I enjoyed it very much. The pricing is reasonable. Won’t make your wallet cry, but it’s not the cheapest place to get dinner.

Finally, a decent Indian spot in Fort Lee! Parking situation is a lil iffy, I always park in the municipal lot. I have never parked in the garage below mainly bc I honestly dunno how to get up in there(geographically challenged). The main entrance is also odd. Its not the main door out in front, but the side door next to it. I’ve only been here for the lunch buffet. Options are great and plentiful(meatarians & vegetarians rejoice). I love how they bring out fresh naan to your table. Warm, buttery, fluffy clouds… Sigh. Plus there’s usually chicken tikka masala(not overly creamy or oily), vindaloo, pakoras, some veggie dishes, gulab jamoon(balls of dough covered in syrup), condiments, and GOAT. I. Freaking. Love. Goat. Unfortunately, the goat here is unappetizing :(Goat requires extra love while cooking or it ends up with this awful smell & aftertaste that I just canNOT get over. BUT, I will note that I have never enjoyed goat at a restaurant before, mainly bc I’m partial to the Pakistani style that my bf & his mom makes. Nothing can beat homemade cooking! I plan on returning for dinner to check out the chicken saag, roti & biryanis(hopefully no nuts) with a bottle of wine! BYOB.

Blue Lotus has very good food but the price is just a smudge over what I think it’s worth for dinner. I definitely walked away full though. The parking is a bit awkward and I can’t imagine what it’s like once it’s crowded. The dinner was really good. We had their calamari and samosa’s as an appetizer and we were basically full before our dinner even came out. The calamari was really good. For dinner I had the goat curry which was really good but a little on the small side portion wise. I can’t complain too much though because we walked out super full in the end. I definitely want to check out their lunch buffet when I get a chance.

I was excited to visit this place based on its high reviews. Overall, a bit underwhelming. The«street food» generally, and bhel puri specifically, was excellent. The main dishes were solid, but unremarkable amongst the plethora of Indian restaurants in greater NYC. Had the lamb kadai and a shrimp vindaloo. But, perhaps neither was a «signature dish»??? Overall, I have no doubt it delivers solid, conventional Indian food if one finds oneself needing an Indian-food fix. But there are better options, both in terms of quality and value.

Came in here on a Saturday night with a 6:30 reservation. We had a groupon and wanted to give this place a try. Very nice servers and simple restaurant. Food may be pretty pricey without a groupon($ 10-$ 25 range). My husband ordered the butter chicken which was good however it was a small portion. I ordered the shrimp vindaloo which is crazy spicy but good! I think that they should serve more shrimp if they’re going to charge $ 20 for the dish but it was good nonetheless. It all came with white rice and we order some naan. They got very busy by the time we were leaving so probably a good idea to make reservations on the weekend. Parking is tight! But at least they have parking.

Delicious food so far. First time there yesterday Friday 4-3-2015. I and my fiancé, along with my 3 year old daughter. We arrived at about 6:15PA and I believe 2 other tables were occupied by other patrons. We were seated promtly. Our appetizer was vegetable samosa. It was spiced just right and came with 2 tastey sauces. Very delicious. My fiancé ordered chicken tikka masala. Excellent except chicken portion a bit small. Plenty of milder tasty sauce and fluffy white rice. I had chicken cheetinad. Also excellent with just perfect spiciness. We ordered a second portion of the fluffy white rice because we loved mixing it in the sauces. Also my 3 year old had rice to eat on its own. When we were done eating we tempted to have a desert or 2 but we were ‘fully satisfied’ with our meals. We shall go back again in time. Friday through Sunday I think going before 6:30PM would be best before Blue Lotus gets too busy with patrons and you my be seated in the back dining area.

This is an updated review dining in. First of all, their parking lot is on river road and Main Street(which is where the restaurant is technically on) doesn’t allow a left turn on to river road so you if you plan to park in their lot get on to river street north of Main Street. Be cautious because the entrance to the lot is easy to miss. The spots are small so honestly it’s better to park somewhere else and walk to the restaurant. Came as a party of 6 with our bottle of wine(BYOB). We took a while to order, but our server Benny was really patient with us. They’re willing to mix and match meats with sauces that might not be listed on the menu for example you can get a channa saag or a lamb korma even though it’s not on the menu. We finally settled on the chicken saag(great — not creamy), the baby eggplant(ok, the eggplant has great flavor but there could be more pieces of it), chicken tikka masala(really surprisingly good), shrimp vindaloo(tender pieces of shrimp), another chicken curry and lamb curry. Great portions and love the chutney they give you. The side of Biriyani could have more flavor however. We were debating on getting an app like a dosa but didn’t order it. Benny soon arrived with the dosa masala, which is such a beautiful creation. We were so grateful that they comp’d us this app to share and he seemed so pleased that we enjoyed it. It was absolutely delicious and one of the better ones I’ve had… as well as the dipping sauces it came with. An extra star for Benny’s hospitality and service! It’s an experience like this that keeps people like me coming back.

Great service and great food. What more could you ask for? I ordered the bhindi masala while the party I was with all got meat dishes. I’m not a vegetarian but I wasn’t feeling that hungry since I had a late lunch. It was fantastic. Easily one of the best veggie dishes I’ve ever had. Flavorful, a bit sweet, and not oily at all. Service was seriously above and beyond. My friend couldn’t decide the chicken chettinad or the chicken korma so they gave us the chicken korma on the house! I helped that all six of us got a big entrée but they were so kind. They even gave us a sample of phaal(an intensely spicy sauce). Parking can be a little tricky here but the trip is definitely worth it!

I recently did pick up order. And food is pretty good. Small portion for the price I think but still I think it is best Indian food in this area.(I mean nj) They have groupon deal now too. I would recommend.

I ordered delivery online from here. Delivery minimum was $ 35, which is a bit steep plus $ 3 delivery fee, which I figured. For dinner, I had the Andhra Pepper Chicken($ 15), which was super spicy, just as I asked. The description said it had coconut but I didn’t taste a single coconut flavor in it. It was alright. My boyfriend ordered the Paneer Tikka($ 16), which was much better. However, for $ 16, I expected a little more. The garlic naan $ 4 was good — that was one of my favorite parts. I’ll have to give this place another try soon to see if some of their other dishes were better.

Came here with a friend who bought their $ 27 Groupon deal(value of $ 49) for dinner, and loved every bit of it. First, just a note. Though they’re listed at 89 Main Street, their entrance/parking lot is actually off of Hudson Terrace going south(Fort Lee towards Edgewater). The parking lot isn’t very big, but it was fairly empty when we first arrived(9pm-ish on a Friday). The moment we arrived, we were greeted, seated and brought water immediately. Due to the fact that there was maybe 2 other parties present, our service through out the night was absolutely amazing. It actually felt like we were being waited on, rather than the other way around(a too often experience these days). Our servers were very attentive and accommodating, from bringing us a glass of ice for our water to giving us extra plates to letting us order drinks to go at the end of the night(which most places don’t do). They’re also very knowledgeable when it comes to explaining their different entrée options, offering good recommendations based on what we like. Only hiccup was that they assumed my American friend couldn’t handle as much spice as me, which I honestly didn’t mind, as I thought it was hilarious. The food itself was good, though I wish it could have been spicier. I went with my go to dish and ordered the Lamb Vindaloo, while my friend got their Chicken Chettinad(basically a more coconuty version of a chicken vindaloo). Both sauces were spot on, and each dish contained generous chunks of their respective meats. More spiciness would have been preferred though, as the extra fiery flavor would have complemented the rice well. Since we had money to spare, needing to spend $ 49, we also got orders of their garlic naan, chili naan and two mango lassi. The garlic naan was delicious, with a crispy shell around a fluffy, soft center. I would recommend against the chili naan, however, as the actual chili pieces overwhelmed the rest of the bread. The mango lassi is what you would expect, irresistibly sweet and refreshing. After everything was said and done, we ended up with enough leftovers for two more additional meals, paid $ 10 each including tax and tip(after the Groupon discount), and left extremely satisfied. Though one could argue that without the Groupon deal, this place would be fairly expensive($ 15−18/entrée); the top notch food and service would still be more than worth it.

My husband and I had a great dinner here on a rainy Tuesday night. Just a few diners but it was great. The Eggplant Tamarind Chat was delicious !! I am still thinking about it days later-the combination of textures and sweet and sour flavor was amazing. We had the lamb kedai — very good and the chicken cheetinad — which was ok. but we definitely will return to explore more of the menu. The service was also great and very friendly.

Again I fell for it from these reviews, now I noticedsome even sound fake. I went here on a weekday for lunch. Right away to the buffet! 1. Salad Section(6 choices, 6sauces, 1soup) 2. Main Dishes(10 choices) 3. Dessert(3 choices) I had high expectations for main choices but had a microwavey reheated leftover feeling. Tandoori was really dry with weak in flavor and also could smell that couple days old chicken cooked smell when u bite into. Other choices were ok but seemed like I had lots of carrots thinking it was chicken. White curry and tikki masala is what I liked and would recommend. Service was no problem polite and friendly had no problem getting their attention. Cleanliness, walked in, sticky floors, bathroom you check it out. Pricing, very reasonable $ 10+tip+tax Lunch price I’m assuming because never got a menu nor written in clear viewing. Food, was not that bad would just be better if fresh. Décor, I really don’t care but be careful of their LONG green tablecloth, if u sit to close and stand could possibly pull everything off the table with your legs getting caught-up. The dinner service might be different will maybe check back later. They also have a closing time listed for during the day 2:30−5pm. Check before deciding on going. Parking is metered and don’t drive passed the store downhill.

Really good Indian place. I took my gf here for a low key birthday dinner. I really enjoyed it. Service was amazing and food was delicious! I really recommend it to everybody looking for some good Indian food. In all honesty I am not an Indian food guru but what I had was very good. We had tikka masala and some other stuff :)(I don’t remember names) everything was great! Service was amazing! Place is byob, very well priced and generous portions. Will be coming back for sure.

Largest Indian buffet I’ve seen. I went over the weekend for their lunch buffet at $ 12.99. There is a tandoori station that consists of all different vegetables and meats. The entrée station has a good blend of variety including veggies, chicken, fish and goat. Around the corner, you will find a dessert table followed by a salad and sauce table. Plenty of naan and dosa is served warm and tableside. There is an area off to the side that would be good for a large private dinner party. They are BYOB with a liquor license in the works. Parking lot is accessible via Hudson Terrace not Main St.

Finally a worthy Indian food in Fort Lee. It has some heat. much better than the old place. Got more than one dessert. Place looks bright and inviting. Had a great time as a group. Price is very reasonable. Will go again and again.
