all 5 year nothing change about delivery they newer put on security lock or email room how many time my items was losted they put on the floor in 1 floor or in the street my neibhor yestoday bring my package from the street delivery was 10, 21 , 2021 sometime they put in the floor i live in 7 floor and always the same, i complain to usps nobody help me so if i lose something you will pay for items we have 2 way securaty lock or email room but no they dont have time to do this job, i wrote to govrement letter they wrote post office , that delivery today, but it was delivery tomorrow how long we upset about lose the package? and they newer write the cod number sorry i cannot wait untill my many package will lost so think about that doesn answer call even you call 7 morning better not call its not possible to get answer , the name is natasha she dont care about complain but she still work very bad person

Doesn’t answer calls, the delivery personel doesn’t deliver packages to people instead they leave a «sorry we missed you» notice on your mail box, it’s called LAZY!!! This location sucks and employees should be revamped! Horrible service from the employees inside. Someone (and that someone will be ME!!!) needs to call the City on them… it’s a shame that our tax dollars pay for such poor and pathetic service and horrible, uneducated people who could give two shits about their job, much less, our personal mail and packages that invaluable to us. Disgusted customer!!!

I would give zero stars if I could. There are many times where I was home and was expecting a package. I check the tracking number, it states a delivery attempt was made and a notice was left. I was home all day, they never rang my bell and no notice was left. There were also times where my package was delivered to the wrong address so I never saw that package again, and my certified mail has been lost before as well. When going into the post office location the lines are always long due to the postal workers moving in slow motion. I have also seen postal workers behind the counter ignore customers when they are trying to ask a question. The customer is even knocking on the window so there’s no way the worker didn’t hear him. Cannot wait to move out of the neighborhood so I don’t have to deal with this post office any more.

They never pick up the phone so don’t even attempt to call them.
I was expecting to receive and package and was home all day. No one came so I Iooked up the tracking of the package. The tracking page said that an attempt was made to deliver the package and a note was left asking for a redelivery date. Well, there was no note and as I said, I was home all day and no one came. I rescheduled a delivery date for Monday, on their website. It is now Thursday and the package still hasn’t arrived.
What a sham this place is. So frustrating as the poor customer service has been going on for years and nothing ever improves. BTW, our post man is very nice, but he’s the exception.

Decent post office. I waited in a line of about 7 – 8 people and got to the front in about 15 minutes. The service behind the window is nicer than my neighborhood post office! They have nice displays in the bulletin windows. They were sold out of all the pretty Valentine’s Day stamps I wanted to buy. The clerk was nice enough to go to the back to get me a few books of last year’s old heart stamps.

As the multitude of 1 star reviews attests, the Forest Hills post office was already a bastion of inept management, apathetic (at best) customer service, and general disorganization. Following this weekend’s blizzard, however, we can add «threat to public safety» to the list! The post office was the only building along the entire stretch of Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills to fail to clear the snow on the walkways surrounding it. In fact, with the post office already open for business today (Monday morning following the storm), even the stairs to the main entrance remain blocked by a huge pile of snow. There has clearly been no attempt by the management of the post office to lift a shovel in the interest of the safety of its customers. One can imagine that this is an accident waiting to happen for one of the seniors or disabled people who rely on this institution. Shame on you, management of the Forest Hills post office!

I walked in expecting long wait times and bureaucratic underpaid city workers that are fed up with their jobs. Pretty much lived up to my expectations. The only available window clerk was very pleasant considering she had just been shouted at for something she couldn’t possibly have been personally responsible for. They’ve always delivered my packages in a timely fashion. I’ve had one issue with a package being marked as delivered when I hadn’t received it but it came the day after I’d filed a complaint. Sometimes I receive mail for someone with a similar last name who lives down the block but that’s mostly down to the mail man, not the post office.
I just don’t understand such harsh reviews for a place that is essentially the dmv for post. Calm down.

In a past life when I once lived in Forest Hills, Queens this post office was my go to resource for all my postal needs, massive mailing for my life event invitations and parcel shipping. Service is utter snail slow as there is always long wait. This post office is full-​service as it has a separate line for U.S. Passport registration and renewal. Confusion to postal customers of what line is for U.S. Passport vs. regular postal service fend illusions and aggravation.
This building maybe relic but has architectural significance since it is registered with the National Register of Historic Places.

Simply hell. Long and slow line, rude clerks and ‘unruly customers’ (worst of all.) After the only redeeming figure’s gone – the former manager who was patient and kind always – , there’s no point tolerating this hell.

I mailed a package to China and it got lost. I came back here to seek help with the claim but the officers here are extremely mean. They blamed on me for not purchasing insurance on my item… The services here are so bad and the superintendent is not friendly and helpful at all. She keep telling me my item was delivered, though it was not. Couldn’t imagine a worse mailing experience, really disappointing!

Probablt the worst post office in existence. All of my registered packages from oversea always get returned and it always says undeliverable address. So all my other mail can come in and only registered mail cant find its damn way? Would you guys not consider leaving a note to pick it up at the office instead of just sending it all the way back overseas? Whoever delivers the mail should f***ing get fired for falsification

When you publicize that you open at 7am, the right thing to do is follow through.
Also, opening the door at 7am and not having any employees to provide customer service until 7:30 is just as bad and not considered an operating PO.
If anybody that has any influence on this issue is reading this post, please help to improve the qualify of service in this PO. This goes without saying, this PO is local to many neighbors, and it causes much grief and inconvenience.

And people are wondering how the postal service is going down the toilet. This place has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. Rude and nasty from everyone I talked to. They treat you like you’re an animal and not worth their time. Horrible service and a disgrace that this place is part of the United States. This is why my generation and younger don’t use the post office. Krysten, however, was a pleasure to work with (after getting in line for 3^rd time) and is probably why this place is still standing. That girl needs a promotion from working in this chaos. She is a very helpful person.

I really could not stand the Post Office. A customer had to tap on my arm to point me that it was my turn to go to the window. The clerk did not flash the light to alert the customer that the window is open for the next customer.
The #15 clerk was so incredibly rude! I couldn’t stand her! Post Office, I have ENOUGH. I am not going back there until PO does something about the rude employees! I am sure that my whines will not go anywhere. Goodbye Post Office! I am taking my business elsewhere.
The lines were confusing but later I realized that one line was for passport and other for desk window for mail/​package. I arrived early today a little before 7 am, luckily, I was first in the line. I waited until 7 am yet no one was in front until maybe close to 710 am. The line was already growing. I kept looking at the logo that turns the light on knowing that the window was open but a nice lady behind me tapped on my shoulder and pointed at the window (the light was off). Since I am deaf so I couldn’t hear that the worker was calling. The package was placed on the counter and the worker spoke to me and I told her that I don’t read lips well. She rolled her eyes up and made faces. I asked her to write and another customer came and used the body language telling me that the window door needed to be closed and he closed it for me. I was like oh gotcha. Thank you so much, sir! The way PO operates here is really different than in Texas. I did not have a pleasant experience but I learned something new thanks to the customers. I think I will do better next time I am there. I am not comfortable with how they call for the customer to come to the window.
PO needs to know that it is NOT customer’s responsibility to handle people like me who cannot hear and cannot read lips well. With the glass windows and the sun shining thru (glare) is difficult to see thru when standing in the waiting line in the line. It needs to have better system for deaf people to know when it is their turn.

If you’re reading these reviews and are skeptical about if this place can really be THAT bad. Believe it, it’s THAT bad.
I haven’t been living in the neighborhood very long, but my mail has been lost or missing so often I’ve been getting hit with late fines almost all the time. It’s getting to be ridiculous.
I recently order something online and was home waiting for it. When I checked my tracking number, it said that it was «delivered in/​at mailbox». There was nothing in my mailbox and no one rang the door bell.
I go down to this post office and the teller that I got was nice and promptly went to find her supervisor. They both had no idea why there was a «delivered in/​at mailbox» and claimed to have never seen something like that before. The supervisor acted like I was bothering him with my problem and seemed annoyed at me. He kept going to the back to «search» for my package, but came back way too quickly for someone who didn’t asking me anything about what my package was. What really pissed me off was when left to go look in the back again, he said that the carrier delivers hundreds of packages a day and cannot always keep track of everything. Yes, I understand no ones perfect, but that’s no way to apologize for a mistake that YOU made. Once again he came back empty handed and told me to call (718) 263‑3165, which when you google it, is their phone number. He tells me to call at 9:30 am and surprise surprise no one picks up. Which doesn’t make any sense because they open at 9 am. The phone just keeps ringing until the line is dead.
I plan to go down there again to hopefully resolve this issue and complain about just about everything I possibly can.

Horrible. The only thing good about this location is the hours. Never any parking, always huge long lines. The manager is nice but I’ve seen so many customers arguing with the tellers.

If you want to get your passport application done quickly, make sure you have extra photocopies of EVERYTHING. I don’t understand why they charge you $ 25 application fee but still not willing to just make a photocopy for you. You have to run out of the office and find a copy machine in the middle of nowhere. So many people wait in line for hours and didn’t get the application sent because of this.
Also they get picky on you no matter what. They ask you to refill the form when they are not happy with it. In my case i gave her the photocopy not original (but there’s no difference coz I haven’t signed), also I stroke out the address in my check (coz I moved) and she’s not happy with it — I had to write a new one.
Don’t like their attitude as many reviewers said. When they say «I can’t send this out» what they really meant was «would you mind correcting this for me and let’s give each other a smile and everyone have a wonderful day?»

On December 26^th, 2014 for an expedite process passports for my two children. We will be traveling next week, therefore I had to paid for the expedite process. Today January 6^th, I received an email saying:
Thank you for your recent passport application. However, additional information is needed to process your request.
¨ The identification for your parent (s)/guardian (s) who appeared on your behalf at the acceptance facility was not properly documented. Please submit a clear photocopy (front and back) of the identification presented at the acceptance facility where you applied.
We gave the passports to the clerk and i guess their copy machine is not up to date and the copies we sent were not legible. This is unacceptable for the money we had to pay to get expedite passports. Not to mention all the waiting time we had to wait, because the clerk was too busy socializing with another clerk.
DO NOT GO TO THIS POST OFFICE TO PROCESS A PASSPORT.
I called the main passport facility and they told me they were missing my ID information. Oh Lord! I took my passport and the clerk made a copy of mine and my husband. How can they not received the copy of my ID? Anyhow, I spoke to someone who was kind enough to tell me I could just email or fax a copy of my ID and after that it would be process. I specifically told her that when the passport was shipped to my address not to require a signature since we are working in the morning. Well, I check the status of the UPS tracking number and it was attempted to be deliver, but the driver didn’t leave it, because he felt It wasn’t safe, so now I have to pick it up at the UPS office. GREAT JOB!!!
The worst experience ever getting a passport.

Why is it that the worst post offices are in the so-​called «good» neighborhoods? Is it because the people who live there are too polite to cause a riot and therefore, mediocre service is tolerated? I thought the Astoria Ditmars Blvd post office was bad when I lived there (I once saw a postal worker sipping vodka there while the line barely moved), and having moved to «tonier» Forest Hills, once again I get shafted.
I found that a package I’d sent from the Hills was returned to the dead letter office. So I picked up the phone listed by Unilocal.I just wanted to know where my package was. A simple request. Well, guess what?
NOBODY AT THE FOREST HILLS POST OFFICE EVER PICKS UP THE PHONE. No elevator music. No friendly «your call is important to us, please stay on hold.» NOTHING. ZILCH. You could ring A HUNDRED TIMES and GET NOTHING.
I called this number early in the morning, in the afternoon, and just before the end of the day. AND NOBODY PICKED UP THE PHONE.
Want to know where the BEST post office is? Really? The South Bronx. Yes, the one by Hostos College. People are friendly, the line is near non-​existent. And sadly, that one is closing.

Horrible, just horrible. You name it– «stolen» packages, guaranteed delivery dates missed, destroyed goods, mail left in the rain… and in the location just as bad– rude, non english speaking staff, everyone going on break simultaneously while there’s a 20-​deep line, etc.
I encourage EVERYONE here to call and file a complaint with the US Postal Service (1 800 275‑8777) after each incident. It will only take 5 minutes, and believe it or not, they take this stuff seriously.
Maybe after enough complaints they will clean house of the lying, cheating, incompetent and thoroughly corrupt clowns running this post office.
