I was excited to come here to celebrate my birthday. We came in for a late dinner at 8, and our server(Debbie) was not happy to see us. She sat us at a table and did not give us menus. We had to ask for our menus. We had to ask her to tell us about specials. Her wine recommendation was terrible. You can tell Debbie was tired and did not want us there. She dropped off our bill without asking if we wanted dessert. We are still here finishing off this awful wine. I know the owner is selling this place, but it’s no reason to give below average service, and to make us feel not welcomed. It doesn’t matter that we won’t be back, because this place won’t be here for much longer. The food was great, but our experience was a downer because of Debbie’s attitude.

Just went tonight and I can’t figure out how such a good idea can be squandered so enthusiastically as it is here. Cute location, really nice décor and vibe, great service and a passable menu… but then there is the one thing that actually counts, the food and drink and I just can’t say much of anything good about it even though I would have loved too. Their bartender shouldn’t be allowed to make drinks. The lavender martini was like sugar water, I’ve never had a martini devoid of alcohol, so that was a first. The Bloody Mary looked so cool and yummy with its bacon spear and tasted atrocious, was by far the worst I have ever had anywhere at any time. The salad was inedible, and more like soup, since everything was absolutely swimming in a pool of dressing, and I love a good dressing but this was an insane amount. The fondue was ok, it was warm and served with bread cubes, which was fine if lacking in flare a bit for $ 10. The hubby ordered the elk burger and fries and it was a solid 2 ½ out of 5 stars, no complaints, but nothing to write home about. My Rockfish was a stunning and confusing disaster. I still can’t quite understand how it didn’t work… there is no way there is a trained chef working in this place, absolutely no way, they would never serve something that tasted so odd. It sounded good, it looked good and it tasted like… yeah no, I got nothing it was just weird and underwhelming. And of course, because I was a gluten for punishment, and really trying so hard to find some redeeming dish on the menu we ordered dessert. The sickeningly sweet gloppy mess that was the rhubarb upside down cake. How is it possible to have a dessert that is so over the top sweet? I want to rate this place higher because all the other aspects are in order here, but I just can’t in good conscience do it and confuse some Unilocal reader considering this place for a meal. I’d rather eat at Scotties Burger Joint down the street. At least I can save $ 100 and leave satisfied. If I’m spending that kind of money on dinner it just has to be better. Please get a chef in there! I want to love this place!

Had the fish and chips special. $ 10. staff was very friendly. Clean appearance. Food was amazing, batter was sweet but not too sweet. Obviously freshly cooked. Average coffee. Will come back again.

Great breakfast! Hint because it took us a minute to figure it out: «Traitor Stacks» are Benedicts…(get it? Benedict Arnold…). Also — $ 3MIMOSAS!

Had such high hopes for this place and after waiting so long to eat here was rather disappointed. Took my daughter here for her birthday dinner and luckily she didn’t notice quite how bad it was. We started off with the edamame app and it came out fresh out of the microwave — burning hot in some spots and still frozen in others. It was supposed to be seasoned and drizzled with chili oil but we were dumping salt all over it until we got our waiters attention. He then took it away and brought us an order of potstickers on the house. Meh, I’ve had better from the Safeway deli. Our entrees were decent, kiddo had two cheeseburger sliders with fries. I had a prime rib dip(I think, that’s what it was) with onions, melty cheese and a horseradish spread that was really good. It came with tots and their dip which is usually so good but just tasted off. For dessert the birthday girl chose to have the maple bacon chocolate cake. She didn’t like the bacon, I loved it. We both liked the cake and mapley frosting and we both didn’t like the thick chocolate frosting on the end. All in with the comped app and free birthday dessert it was a $ 19 birthday dinner so can’t complain about that but I miss Small Plates. The food tasted so much better there.

Need a new breakfast homestay in Forest Grove? 1910 Main is the ticket! Breakfast spots are tough to come by in The Grove. We literally found this one by accident, and Mother May I… this place rocks. Perfect comfy décor, unpretentious yet quality wait staff. Had a tasty draft stout with my biscuit sandwich. Not just any biscuit sandwich, though. This one was served up on a giant buttermilk biscuit with jelly pork belly, provolone, and spinach. This isn’t your Grandma’s kitchen, but it sure feels like home. The service was fast and friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

Granted, we had a table of 10, but it was a Thursday night, the restaurant was not packed at all and it took over an hour to get our orders of salad, sandwiches, and burgers. The food was fine but not exceptional. My burger could’ve easily been from Scottie’s if they offered a brioche bun, fancier greens, and served it on a plate. I don’t need to rush through a meal, but wow, slow service. Our server was polite enough, but I’d be reluctant to return. Acceptable for small-town fine dining, but I wouldn’t go if you’re looking to spend less than two hours there.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. For a small town restaurant it was very nice. Good service, good food and good atmosphere. Will be coming back!

Me and my wife have has very hit and miss experiences at 1910. The first time the food was great but the wait was a little longer than I expected for the time of day. The next time we went my wife got the fish and chips and when she bit into the first fish it dripped grease. She was not happy with that. The wait staff can either be super attentive or they can almost not exist. I didn’t see much in the middle.

Currently here getting the worst customer service. Our waitress has no manners… Hasn’t checked on us once, when she brings us things, she sets it down without words and walks away. Very cold!!!

Perfect date night! We arrived after six on a Friday night and were seated right away with no reservation. I was craving something tasty and was not disappointed. The Muffaleta sandwich was incredible. Salame, pepperoni, provolone, pesto and olive tapanade… so many of my favorite things together. And the meat layers were thickly stacked. The gluten free bread was very good and held together. The house salad dressing was delicious. I can’t remember the name, but my husband and I both ordered a drink with mint, lemonade, and some sort of huckleberry liquor. Amazing!!! The atmosphere is clean and modern. It isn’t a warm, cozy restaurant, but I don’t think that is the intended style. This is my second visit and both times the service has been slow. Not a problem on date night. Our waitress was thorough and very pleasant.

The food is pretty good, but I’d expect better from their prices. I remember being rather excited when they first moved into town, finally done food in Forest Grove that might be able to satisfy a foodie. Sadly I think I’ll have to wait a bit longer. The food really isn’t all that impressive. It’s like the quality you might expect from like a Red Robins; good, but nothing amazing. It’s a bit steep in price though for what it offers. One nice thing though is that they’re ingredients do seem to be fresher and more local than most restaurants in the area. In my opinion you’d be better off sharing a few tapas with your friends or family over at their sister restaurant Small Plates, which is just around the corner. The prices their range from $ 2 – 10 a plate, and it only take 4 to 6 plates to feed four hungry people.

I brought an out if town guest and family thinking it would be a very nice restaurant. We didn’t have reservations so we were seated just inside the door. We waited for half an hour to give our order and waited another hour before it was served. It arrived cold. My daughter sent her plate back and when the waiter brought her a new plate, it also was cold. Needless to say we won’t be back and certainly won’t recommend it to friends.

Wow, happy hour prices have doubled here since my review several years back. Gone are the $ 2, $ 3, $ 4, $ 5 deals and they’ve been replaced with $ 6 – 10 range for most of the items. Beer of the day is $ 4 a pint, which is about average, but hardly a HH deal to shout about. I ordered the Burger and Fries(was $ 5, now $ 7) and it was good, as good as it used to be. Fondue went from $ 4 to $ 7.50. Kind of sad, this used to be our go-to place for«happy hour dinner» but at these prices we can’t afford it any longer. The food is good quality, but these prices are close to what other nearby places charge for non-happy hour. The food is as good as it used to be, but sadly I have to adjust the rating downward as the value proposition has diminished tremendously. 08÷05÷14EDIT: I found where the happy hour plates went — around the corner to their new venture«Small Plates at 1910 Main». The food here is still good, if a touch pricey. Maintaining«A-OK».

Okay as you can see from my previous review, I wanted to like this place. I like the venue, I like the concept. But as a restaurant with higher end pricing, you must have a actual chef. You must know rare from well done. You must not serve burned food. I ordered the prime rib and specifically asked if they had very rare. The waiter brought me a medium to medium well. He took it back and came back to tell me that the one he brought was the rarest they had. Wow. I have had their steak and sent it back multiple times because they can’t seem to do rare. And tonight there was no steak on the menu outside of steak medallions which means mystery steak. So I asked for meatloaf. It came. Deep fried the consistency of Alpo. The breading was like rubber. The asparagus cold. The grilled onions were burned to a crisp. I only ate a few bites then the potatoes and sent it back. My husband had the prime rib. The exterior was inedible. The inside was okay but had no flavor. When I went to Unilocal it a free dessert came up. We had the brownie. It was the best thing we had all night. The waiter was great and tried. He took five dollars off but I don’t think a scoop of mashed potatoes is worth ten dollars. Going right now for a burger at Burger King. Never again. Truly at these prices a chef who has seen the inside of a culinary school is not too much to ask. I wanted this to become our place. Not so much.

My second visit was more disappointing than the first. I walked in at ten til 8PM and there was nobody coming out to see us. So I started to walk back where a waitress was and she informed me that the grill was closed. I asked her what her hours were and she shrugged her shoulders and said whenever. WOW! For a higher end place this was very disappointing. I contacted the owners and they did not seem to interested in fixing the situation. :-(

The place has gotten progressively worse. The potential here is pretty high, as the space is really nice. However, service and execution are inconsistent at best and a failure at its worst. The first time I was here was when it opened. I would give it a solid 4 stars, with the food being well executed and the service being pretty good. The place didn’t have anyone it it, so the service should be excellent. Second time was for brunch. Denny’s quality at Mother’s Bistro prices. Not impressed, and the server was a bit flaky. Last time was for dinner, and it was not nearly as good as it once was. Execution on my dish was pretty poor, and the service was very slow and inattentive. That, and now the locals in the Grove know about this place and there were more people in there(and it was a Saturday night). The problem is that the waiting area has tables as well as a bar, and the actual place to get seated goes past this area and near the kitchen, causing a bit of a human clump while you wait. The servers didn’t seem to have a clear vision on who does what, so there was no one that was assigned to seating new customers. That is a management issue, not a server issue. If you live in Forest Grove, there are a few other places that are much better, but I understand that options are limited. Maybe that is why the place is still around. But I can’t see people driving out here, even from the ‘boro, to get a meal. Better to drive 20 minutes in the other direction.

I made the trek out to FG to meet some ladies for HH. The selection of food and alcohol for Happy Hour is great, and nothing exceeds $ 6. Everyone enjoyed their food(soup, salad, calamari, hummus, quinoa/mushroom burger were all good). The house wines were quite good as well. The only thing I am marking down is service. While it got better towards the end of our two hour stay, the server was very busy and wouldn’t come around for long stretches of time. When the third in our party arrived she waited 15 minutes before getting up and telling another employee what she wanted. If they can fix the service piece I’d come back frequently!

Review for Brunch only: service was prompt and courteous. Darcie was a great server. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. We had the spring vegetable omelet and chicken fried steak both were just ok. Chicken fried steak is usually one of my favorites but the texture & flavor of this one was closer to chicken fried meatloaf. All in all, we’ll probably come back to at least try the dinner service.

We went back for another breakfast over the weekend and this place lost a little bit of luster for us, so I’m subtracting a star. For Forest Grove, it’s still pretty good, but the server was a bit lackadaisical, the food was a tad off(undercooked sausage for Princess and soggy not totally cooked french toast for hubby, although my veggie skillet was pretty good) and we weren’t totally happy like we were the first time. The people next to us got a lot of attention and seemed like regulars, they were totally happy. Maybe it you come often you fare better. Hubby’s coffee came with a spoon, mine did not. And when I asked for one, I think I got a dirty look from our person. Really? Is it that hard to bring me a spoon? are spoons being rationed? Sadness. I think we’re sticking with our usual places for breakfast next time: Hales, Bethany’s Table, Reedville Café, or Peppermill. I really wanted this place to rock it out. I don’t know if we will go back. We shall see.
