I have grown disappointed with Dona Timos and their prices. They have completely blown out the door! Usually my family and I share a molcajete(the dry one with carne asada, chicken, shrimp, chorizo etc) and we’ll get a couple things on the side. The price of the molcajete went from $ 15 to $ 20! Not only that but the fish tacos are about $ 5 each now. That is ridiculous. We love coming to this place because of the service, taste, and price. But honestly now at this price point now we might as well be going to Fonda De Don Chon or a BJ’s. I have been coming with my family for a couple years and the food is fantastic. They really do have authentic Mexican food and the staff is so friendly, Hilda and Fabi are always so friendly and they know how to take care of us. I just hope owners realize how disappointing it is for customers to come to a restaurant that CONSTANTLY changes prices.

Great spot for delicious Mexican food. Wifi enabled. My new spot. I was treated very well, and the Micheladas are fantastic. I’d stop by again soon. Comes with a small soup while you wait.

Friendly staff. Green Chili is watered down, and rice is too greasy. Consome is good. I do like like that place is very clean.

I always like to go and drink a michelada or a cantarito, but the food is amazing too, the molcajete, camarones a la diabla, fajitas, birria, huevos rancheros well… all the food has a great flavor, fast and great service!

Highly recommend this restaurant! Can’t get more authentic. We visited Southern California and had heard about Dona Timos. The restaurant atmosphere was warm and inviting… nothing pretentious. We were promptly greeted and seated at our table. I looked around to see what everyone else was eating and all of the dishes looked amazing. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and I ordered the garlic shrimp. The food presentation was outstanding and the food brought back memories of being in Mexico. Each plate was carefully executed and the bonus was the warm homemade corn tortillas. Next time we are in So Cal, we will definitely be visiting Dona Timos… can’t wait!

As authentic as Mexican food gets. I’m a regular and have been for ~10 years.

I haven’t been to this place in close to a year and I’ll tell you why — the food has SERIOUSLY deteriorated! This used to be our go-to spot for a long time, and then we started to notice the food was tasting worse and worse. The service also wasn’t quite what it used to be, as the waitresses kept forgetting our«consome»(complimentary soup) and took longer to take our orders. But the deal breaker was hands-down, the deteriorating quality of the food. I was in denial for a while, and kept asking my husband to just give it one more shot, but on our last visit, I finally said no more. I truly hope it’s gotten better since the last time I visited.

Was iffy at first now I’m a once a month kind of guy! This place is really good. Their menudo is to die for and all their plates are delicious. My wife and I always sit outside on the patio. Kind of peaceful, you can hear the fountains and enjoy the scenic landscaping. P.S I think their building a new bar?

Last minute decision to visit Dona Timo’s and I must say the food was pretty good. I had the carne asada and it had a lot of flavor. Beans and rice were yummy as well. Hubby had the Chile Rellanos and he liked it as well. We have been disappointed after trying several mexican restaurants but left stating that we would definitely come back. Did not realize they had covered patio seating until we almost left. Next time we will eat out there.

Never going there gain!.. My bf Had ordered chicken tacos that smelled like propane told the manager that there was a possible fuel leak on the stove to look into it for other customers they might get sick and she got very upset with us saying there was nothing wrong with the stove or the food my bf was being very nice with addressing the issue she was very unprofessional and refused to listen to him about the leak.

Great authentic food. Homemade tortillas and good live music on Sundays. They also have a location in Downtown Riverside that is a great lunch spot during the week.
