No issues with their care but they ripped me off. I went there with a script from my doctor for a vaccine(dTAP) which I now know isn’t covered by Medicare but this was almost a year ago and before going there, I asked over the phone if they have the shot and if it’s covered. I was asked what insurance I had and was assured it was covered. When I came in for the shot, again I was told, after giving them my insurance info, there would be no charge since Medicare doesn’t charge for shots, and that I would probably be billed separately for the cost of the vaccine by my part D insurance. Then I started getting bills from them, all going to the wrong address. Six times I corrected my address and also asked to speak to a supervisor about the charge. Supervisor never called back and they just kept sending bills to the wrong address while continuing to refuse to acknowledge their mistake in telling me it was covered, and continuing to give me further wrong info. The billing Dept. told me, in essence, I shouldn’t have believed the receptionist who told me the shot was covered and should have checked with them first. They also told me that Urgent MD doesn’t do routine vaccines, they only do urgent care, so I asked why they have a sign out front offering flu shots? They further told me that the office staff had no idea why I was there that day and that’s why they told me office visits are covered by Medicare. Of course this wasn’t true either since I showed the front desk the script and was specifically told it was covered. I now know I could have gotten the shot administered for free, only paying for the cost of the vaccine itself($ 9.64) during a regular visit to my primary care doc but he gave me the script so I could first find out how much I would have to pay for the shot since every part D plan pays differently. I finally agreed to pay this place a reduced amount for an office visit, $ 84.69, in order to not ruin my credit standing but I warned them that I would call them out for their unethical handling of this if they insist I pay this ridiculous amount instead of admitting they were wrong to tell me twice there would be no charge. Btw, went to my primary care yesterday for a flu shot and they have a sign up saying which vaccines are and are not covered by Medicare and that patients requesting non-covered shots have to sign a form acknowledging that they’re not covered, and that the patient will be billed separately for those vaccines. Clearly this should have been the case at Urgent MD.

I went to the urgent care on Main Street Sunday morning after not feeling well. I found the staff personable and fruendly. This is the second time I’ve been there and trust the doctors.
