This place is like every other Colombian bakery it has great ampanadas and chicken soup basically all I get there. It’s always packed when I get there but I get a seat. The cashiers are always on point. It’s a lil noisy but overall the food is fresh and goof

Went here for lunch and the place was pretty busy. Decided to get their combo platter 2(¼ chicken, rice, beans, and salad) for $ 8+tax. The food was very tasty and the portions were pretty big, too. I was very full after the meal and felt satisfied. I have had their chicken and cheese empanadas in the past and those were amazing as well. A lot of reviewers complain about this Rico’s not being an authentic Colombian place, but in terms of taste they’re definitely doing something right. Only reason this place does not get five stars is because it was pretty small and I had to go elsewhere to eat the food.

Buen sabor, buen servicio, y fast delivery.

If you are not Spanish, speak Spanish or even remotely look Spanish don’t waste your time. The one really sweet waitress that worked there left. The others will take good care of the Spanish customers and then look at you with the most unpleasant and uncomfortable look on their faces. The food is ok. Their chicken is over priced. Their empanadas are good but oily. It’s a satisfactory place. I work right across the street at the Hospital and usually dread going. I would only go out of serious desperation.

0 Stars. Unilocal does not give me the option to NOT put any stars. Whoever is giving this place all those stars has either never eaten real Colombian food or is related to the owner or rude staff they have working there. To the Asian people who have reviewed this place, please go to Jackson Heights. Go to any Colombian restaurant there and you will be enlightened. I ate here with my wife for lunch and ordered the lunch special.($ 8.00) Small bowl of chicken soup with ¼ chicken and yellow rice with a shameful excuse for red beans. OBVIOUSLY from a can. My soup was luke warm at best. The chicken, rice and beans were cold. I sent my soup back to be NUKED because it was not even warm. My wife ordered two chicken and 2 beef empanadas. They were also cold. Cold because they were sitting on display in a glass case. We did not even finish half our meal. I also noticed that for the lunch hour, the restaurant was empty. Except for another couple that did not finish their food either. AREYOUSERIOUS? Empty right across the street from the hospital? You are empty because the food SUCKS. Believe me when I say I am being as diplomatic as possible. You should be ashamed of putting out such mediocre food when you are not even busy and think that people won’t call you out on it. Stay away from this place.

In an area consumed by Asian everything, it was refreshing to find a good Hispanic restaurant… run by real Hispanics, not Asians *no offense to anyone* Parking in the area is a bit difficult as they are located across the street from a hospital. I would suggest going a block or two off 45 Ave and you should be able to find something there. I’ve ordered take out from here on two occasions and both times I’ve enjoyed my meal. I got the lunch special both times and it was $ 8. It comes with the soup of the day, ¼ chicken, rice and beans, plantain and salad. First time I was under the assumption that the soup was additional so I opted out of it. On my second trip I made sure to get everything(except rice), including a $ 1 chicken empananda. The cashier was nice enough to let me slide on the 21 cents because all I had was a $ 10 bill and my bank/credit cards(they are cash only). Their rotesserie chicken(both white and dark meat) has light seasoning and is so moist. You can literally see the juices coming off the thigh pieces. The beans are a tab bit salty(I added water) and the salad is really good. It comes with shredded purple cabbage, shredded carrots, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and a delicious light Italian dressing with salt and pepper sprinkled on top. The plantains were a little charred, but I didn’t mind. The meal is very filling; for sure you get your monies worth. After the chicken, beans, salad and plantains I was stuffed. I couldn’t even look at anymore food. I gave the empanada to my mom, and she said it was ok. I’ll be warming up the soup and eating it for dinner. Im looking forward to trying more items on their menu

My friend and I came to this new place to get some empanadas. The prices are reasonable($ 1.50 ea.) and everyone was kind. Definitely would come back!

Love their chicken and empanadas! Great flavor and price! However, I must say… They are getting too too stingy on their green salsa!!! I had to pay $ 2 extra for tiny containers of salsa.

This place is my go to for empanadas. This restaurant offers three different types of stuffing: chicken, cheese, and beef. I usually order chicken or cheese empanadas(sometimes both) for $ 1.50 each with complementary green hot sauce. It’s so good compared to places in Manhattan that charge $ 2+. Two to three are enough to make you feel full instantly because they’re stuffed to the brim. I love how the exterior is crispy and not soggy. Can really plug a growling stomach!

One of the worst establishments I’ve Unilocaled about thus far Aside from being a tiny location and the employees all having the look on there face like they dread being at work God forbid you ask them to replace something on your platter they make a federal case of it and then sum zero professionalism when it comes to the customer delivery experience is just as bad un professional employees answering the phone the food there is a whopping 3 out of 10 definitely not worth all the hassle this location is in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood my suggestion to you is find another place eat plain and simple.

Love, love, love their food! I typically order the bean platter to-go, which has a nice size strip of chicharron(I would assume it is a deep fried thick cut of pork belly), half an avocado, half a plantain, and a mystery white bread I never got to figure out(maybe an arepa?). It also comes with white rice, a side of beans and green sauce. I love mixing the rice and beans and I love drenching the chicharron in the spicy green sauce. I forget which number this is, but this is my go to option, or my only option. I used to get this every week after work and I never get tired of it. They only accept cash so carry enough. It’s an easy spot to miss since its small and kind of hidden between a flower shop and dental office. Stop by if you get the chance!

The absolute worst possible experience any single person can have. Called about one hour ago and placed an order with a very rude lady. When I called back just this instance, the same lady replied«you never placed that order». Once I refreshed her memory, she simply asked if I still wanted the order .When I refused the order she hung up. There are many Columbian places in and around this area… don’t let what happened to me happen to u!

Fast service, great food, fair prices, nice atmosphere. The tables sit two at each so bigger groups be weary, however its only a matter of pushing the tables together. My father got the Personal 1 which is half a rotisserie chicken with a salad and white rice with beans. The chicken was perfection honestly and they are very generous with their rice and beans. I was recommended the skirt steak and it was amazing, it was medium to well as I requested it arrived at my table still sizzling. For dessert we tried the Tres Leche cake and it was great. Overall a great experience for $ 30.

This place is a decent place if you want to grab a quick bite and get your fix of some type of Spanish food. I got the ¼ chicken with rice and beans and a salad for 8 bucks. I would go back again but it’s not something I would crave to die for. Parking is good around this place.

A little hidden culinary gem in Flushing. Don’t expect your typical sit down type of location, but do expect a good meal for a fair price. Traditional Colombian foods with a staff that’s aiming to please. Small eating area, but at the end of the day, you’re there for the food. From a Bandeja típica to a picada that’s enough to feed four people, with food to spare. Definitely a go-to spot.

I think this place is great. I always get their personal 1 or 2. Personal 1 has more chicken. Both are chicken, either half or full, with white or yellow rice, beans, and salad and hot green sauce which is great on the beans and rice and chicken. Love this place. They are friendly and quick. Chicken empanadas are also a+ which also comes with the green sauce and everything is affordable as well.

The personal combo with half chicken is enough for 2 meals. The empanadas are perfectly irregular handmade juicy gut bombs. Green sauce is a bit heavy on salt. But the beans are light and flavorful, so I mix the two to dip my pollo.

The chicken is nicely done, though quite small. The meat is juicy and skin is just crispy enough. The restaurant itself is kind of cramped with 5 – 6 tables. I ordered the Personal #1 combo to go, which is half-chicken with rice, beans, and a small salad for $ 10(and tax). I think this is on the expensive side for the amount of food and the neighborhood. The green picante sauce is good in terms of spice, but definitely not the best I’ve had. Won’t be trying this again. *Remember, this restaurant accepts cash only.

Elsie L-Sizzle W. and I both ordered a number 3 — the Colombian Typical Platter. It was insane. We could’ve and should’ve both shared that one meal and ate it for lunch, dinner, and breakfast the next day. It was one of the first times I’ve seen the real life portion to be twice the size of the picture. If you’re able to get past the egg, plantain, sausage, giant piece of pork fat, and corn patty, a steak awaits you on a bed of rice and beans. But none of it would be quite as good without the spicy creamy green sauce of wonder. I still don’t know what it’s made of, but my mouth doesn’t care. Finally, don’t forget to eat the avocados, to balance all the bad cholesterol with some good. As Elsie points out, «this is a heart attack and stroke at the same time.» At least Flushing Hospital is right across the street.
