BJ’s is a staple in North County. If you’ve never heard of it or had their pizza, you’ve probably not grown up here. BJ’s is your typical neighborhood corner bar, with the best pizza. It has been family owned and operated since the first day. The drinks are cheap and yes, are served in Mason jars. Not to mention the mixed drinks are so strong they can get up and walk around the bar! The beer is ice cold and cheap and plenty of it! 60 years in Florissant and still the best pizza!

Not consistent! Good perfect at times and other times it’s horrible!!! Ordered and food wasn’t cooked properly. Called to have food order corrected and the response was not welcoming or co fusible for great customer service!!! Truly not a care that they had a unsatisfied customer

This has always been my most favorite pizza place. My wife grew up in North County, and from the time we got married until we moved to South County, we would come here every week just for the pizza. From 2002 onwards, we would make the pilgrimage at least once a year, getting some pizzas to go and eating them at a nearby city park.

BESTPIZZAAROUND! Been here long time, same family, tavern for sure, probably still smoky, the only negative, but if you want a cold beer in an old st. louis style TAVERN, this is the place, Reminds me of the old corner bars in the city. Too bad they still don’t play corkball or bottlecaps using a stick out back anymore, that was the fun times there.

I admit it. I’ve been here. So what, THEFOODISAMAZING! Their pizza is killer and they are so generous with the toppings. You could feed another family with just the toppings they give you. I’ve also had their fried mushrooms which I can say are the BEST I’ve ever had… and that’s a lot. Great cheesy bread, too. Yes, the term«dive» bar is almost too clean to even describe this place. I’m pretty sure the bathroom had a dog shower in there… but it’s all part of the«experience.» I was definitely out of place here but no one gives a shit. A Florissant landmark in my opinion.

For much of my childhood life, I thought this place was called«Stag», due to the beer sign that is displayed outside. It wasn’t until later in life that I learned BJ’s was actually the diviest of dive bars that served a decent pizza. Step inside and it’s like time traveling to a simpler era. Mounted tube tv’s on the wall, a lottery ticket machine, and a fridge where people can buy booze and ice to take out. In dive bar fashion, it’s pretty dingy inside(and the place seems to have a certain smell to it, almost like you’re in someone’s basement). Once you order food or drinks though, you realize you’re getting them incredibly cheap as a trade off. You can get a glass of beer for $ 1.25! Some of the staff are real nice and I’ve been here on nights where I’ve ordered a bucket and gotten an extra beer, which is awesome. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, I went to use this bell they have sitting at a counter for ordering food, and it wasn’t working, so I hit it a few times. One of the bartenders across the room started raging at me for hitting the bell too much. It’s like, whoa, calm down dude, it’s just a bell. Other than that experience, I generally enjoy the place for its character, and recommend checking it out if you’re in the area. Stay out late enough and you can hit up the 24 hr Old Town Donuts after!

Are you fucking kidding me was my first thought when a friend suggested we go up to this place and eat. I would rather let a dog«baby-bird» feed me then let the bottom of my shoes touch the floor of that bar, much less eat anything made in this hole. But everyone else was going so I didn’t want to be lame(but I had 8 packs of wipes and an industrial bottle of sanitizer in the car to bathe with after our«visit»). Upon entering I was terrified the building would collapse upon me and before S&R could find me I would be eaten whole by some giant roach that had been living for years on the filth of this place. But I quelled my panic and managed to order a beer(a bottle, only way I’m drinking out of a mason jar is if it’s filled with lighter fluid and I’m swallowing a match after). My «friends» ordered the food as they had ate here before(I was praying my immune system was as strong as theirs apparently was). While waiting I looked around and the place is very small and cramped and filled to the brim with people and this was a Tuesday night at like 8:30. Everyone was friendly, relaxed, and enjoying a good time. This put me a little more at ease. Our pizza came out pretty quickly and I must say I was stunned by how amazing it looked, piled with toppings and gooey cheese it looked delicious. Fingers shaking I grabbed a piece said a quick prayer and took a bite… and I lived. It was phenomenal, one of the best pizzas I’ve had actually, it made me forget about my surroundings and relax. Even with 4 people(2 of which are healthy adult males) we didn’t make it through the large pizza. Needless to say I’m still hard-pressed to actually go into this place but I’m 100% for takeout and that’s what gets this place a 3 star rating.

This is definetly an interesting place. They have cheap cheeseburgers that are worth it and there pizza ranks pretty high if you close your eyes and you imagine your self eating somewhere that probably isnt infested which cockaroaches! XD Its a nice place to hang out with the guys.

I had’nt been to BJ’s since I was a teen with my parents while on one of visits to St. Louis. We immediately had to order the famous pizza. NO disappointments here! We order 2 pizza’s –3 topping large and a 1 topping«small»(More like a medium size)…$ 19!!! They were very good size pizza’s and the toppings were plentiful and flavorful. The place definitely has character and characters. At 2:30 on a Friday afternoon, we were surrounded by regulars drinking from mixed drinks in Mason Jars. Too cool. We opted for Micholob Ultra Bottled beer. A definite blue collar tavern that welcomed us truly over dressed out of towners. I look forward to that pizza again on our next trip to St. Louis.

I had no idea what to expect going to this place. All I knew is that they served booze in a mason jar. That was enough to spark my interest. This is the definition of a dive bar. It is a little on the dirty side but that is to be expected judging from the outside appearance. The place reeks of urine and vomit. Not gonna lie. But! Their food is awesome and the big ass mason jars filled with a strong pour make up for the nasty odor. I’ll go back.
