Fun place to take a pit stop when going to North Tucson or coming back to Phoenix and do not want to drive the I-10 and deal with all the big trucks. This is the way I go and it is a very scenic drive. Nice! The Prison Outlet can range from 2 to 4 star depending on the occasion. The inventory is constantly rotating and sometimes it is a little sparse. It is basically a mobile home that is full of creations from the local inmates. Some of them help at the store. No worries. They are always dressed in orange so you can’t miss them. The prices are very reasonable and they get a portion of the sales. Beats the traditional system of 2 for 1 on the inside. Cool. I always pick up some of the really cool metal outdoor lawn dudes. $ 15 each on most of them and they are powder coated. Scottsdale would sell the same thing for triple the price or more. So far I have a front yard loaded with all sorts of animals chasing each other or camping out underneath the tree. Multicolored Kokopellis are in the back yard and seem to be having a good time as well. They also sell t-shirts, items made of wood, painted pictures, keychains, etc. You can even get some bakery goodies that they make right there in the big house as well as hay that they grow nearby for your horse or barnyard animals. Saddle up!

No you can’t purchase inmates cheap… This little store is stocked with crafts and/or produce made or grown by the inmates at the prison in Florence. The metal garden art is a steal…(I had to say it) We usually always find a gift to purchase when we stop. Our favorite is the family of four quail, $ 25…of course you will find license plates, paper art, and wooden jewelry boxes. If you are passing by, «do the time», stop by, just leave your orange jumpsuit at home…
