I love dining at Roost on chilly Saturday mornings! For me, it is always rather difficult to find non-chain breakfast /brunch spots in North of Indy, but the Roost is one of the few locally owned spot. I enjoy their coffee with savory egg plates, while V usually orders from lunch menu since our Saturday brunch starts after 11 a.m. It is very convenient for us that while I can enjoy my breakfast, V can enjoy salad or sandwiches. The only problem I ever experienced was one of the egg plates I ordered was way too cheesy for me. It appears that customers usually wait to be seated if they show up around certain time range, but if you’re like us, who like to sleep in longer on Saturdays, then you’ll have a better chance to be seated and served right away.

We are visiting and decided to check this one out and totally impressed. Lunch portions were huge and the food was excellent. I had egg and chorizo burrito and fruit. Fruit was double the amount you get anywhere else and burrito was great. Son had buffalo chicken sandwich and wound up with TWO chicken breasts on one bun. Totally worth the stop and if we are in fishers again, this is our stop.

Amazing food, but service is hit or miss. Their coffee cake is why I come back each time! So good!

First time to leave a review on Unilocal but just had to after having breakfast at the roost. Food was less than average but the service was horrible!!! Very rude. Never again

This was our first time and we got turned off when there was food all over the floor at our booth for a child that had sat there. The table was also very sticky. The waitress cleaned the table after we asked but never bother to clean the floor. The food was bad but my husband’s toast was hard and unbuttered. My toast didn’t come out until we finally saw the waitress and asked for it. I was three quarters of the way done with my meal. Don’t think we’ll be returning.

Waited 25 minutes for a table for two. When we saw two people seated that had come in long after us we asked where we were on the list and we weren’t even on the list. What? We were seated right away at that point. When we finally were seated the very nice waitress came to take our order. She came back at least three times to clarify the order since she couldn’t get it straight. We waited quite a little while for our food considering we ordered eggs. My order seemed much too gooey and under done. My girlfriend’s was dry and over done. I wouldn’t write home to mama about either. We waited 15 minutes for our checks, then the waitress mixed up the credit cards. All the way around this meal was mediocre at best — food and service.

Food taste/quality gets 5 stars! Staff«friendliness»(or lack there of) gets 1. Taking away more than half the menu, including several omelette choices breaks my heart. It’s also unfortunate that they won’t update their menu online with Google or other places yet keep no menu on their website. Makes it difficult to call in an order, which I’m firm about doing so I don’t have to deal with the rude staff much. However, they aren’t quick to get you taken care of when you show up to pick up food. You’ll have to ask about 10 people before someone cares enough to stop and ring you out. Great food should go hand-in-hand with kind staff. Sad atmosphere here :(

Open early!!! 4 egg omelettes and cinnamon raisin toast, what more could you want. Pot of coffee on the table, no waiting for refills. Super friendly staff, nice menu, makes you want to read the whole thing before making your choice.

One of the best place for breakfast and lunch. You have lot of choices. Their breakfast specials are always good. During breakfast time, it’s crowded so be ready to wait for at least 15 minutes. They put free coffee outside so enjoy while waiting.

I will first offer a bit of a disclaimer — I dined at The Roost at least partially owing to a gift certificate provided by their parent company as a way of saying«Thanks!» for some feedback I’d provided regarding one of their other restaurants. I arrived at The Roost, a nondescript Fishers breakfast/lunch joint located in a small strip center just east of Allisonville Road off East 116th Street, in the early lunch hour on a Saturday afternoon. I hadn’t decided whether breakfast or lunch would be the mission, though I will admit that I tend to find most breakfast/lunch joints to actually be stronger with breakfast. The parking lot has four ADA compliant parking spaces — two on each end of the short building. The two closest to The Roost were taken, but I was able to find a spot in front of Great Clips. You enter the front door of The Roost and you enter the waiting arrow, a narrow aisle/hallway that leads to the hosting area. There’s minimal seating, but on this unseasonably warm day most people were waiting outside. I was told that the wait would be around 15 – 20 minutes. I moved out of the way, a slight challenge given the narrow aisle. As I entered, my heart went aflutter a bit as I encountered a Facebook friend’s family whom I’d never met. With a daughter who has autism, the area in which I work professionally, this friend and I share a love of disability rights and approaching life with ample doses of snark. I introduced myself, eventually, because a true introvert never introduces oneself until every other logical response is worked through. I watched as the hostess would call for names and go outside when no one responded. It’s an informal procedure, but it seems to work and I never once saw the hostess grimace or groan or do anything but smile. Having lost myself in conversation with this family, I’m not 100% sure how long it took to be seated but I’m sure it was in the 15 – 20 minute range. The dining area is filled with a ton o’ booths, mostly of the wooded variety with some variation in size. There are a few tables on one side of the large dining room and behind another divided off area. I’m generally not picky, beyond wanting access, so we went to the divided off area — unfortunately, one of the diners had to move to allow me access. They were incredibly gracious about it. The same happened on my way out(different diner!). Ahmad was my server, a delightful and personable young man whose relaxed nature was a welcome addition to the meal. He was relaxed, but spot on in terms of service. He took my drink order, the usual unsweetened iced tea, and returned it promptly. I asked if their tenderloin sandwich was a real tenderloin, not a fritter, and if it was actually hand-breaded — this did seem to throw Ahmad off a bit — I think he confused«breaded» with«hand-breaded.» Regardless, he answered in the affirmative and appeared to be right as I ordered the tenderloin sandwich($ 9.29) that comes with one of 14 sides(I stuck with fries, sort of a shoestring variety along the lines of Steak n’ Shake but more browned). I’ve wrestled with a 4 – 5 rating, though ultimately I’m leaning toward just shy of perfect. I suppose the accessibility issue deserves the removal of one star — while I deserve access, and the customers were awesome, my access should never have to come at the expense of another diner. I was really grateful they were so awesome about it. I will also admit that I liked this smaller area as I have my own sensory issues and found it rather calming. I also really, really appreciated that the disability wasn’t stereotyped as an obstacle — the hostess was definitely on her game. I also wasn’t completely sold on the fries, though the tenderloin, on a toasted, knotted bun was better than expected but perhaps a tad overpriced. However, I pretty much loved everything about this experience — from the retro-styled dining atmosphere to the staff/server and even to the customers. While Hamilton County isn’t exactly known for its diversity, The Roost was a gathering place that seemed to embrace everyone — I mean, heck, you had a young teen with autism in your midst and not even the busy atmosphere proved jarring for her. That speaks volumes about the entire crew. I received my usual unsweetened iced tea plus one for the road. That was a nice touch, especially considering I’d lingered a few extra minutes to read and had already paid my bill that ran a little over $ 12. You can definitely eat for less than $ 10 as I had one of the more expensive meals. While I’m not a regular traveler to Fishers, living in Lawrence myself, The Roost was the kind of place I love — relaxed, friendly, warm and comfortable to those across the full spectrum of life. With a top notch staff and great food reasonably priced, I’ll definitely be back.

Great food and quick service. Very small place so it’s hard to get a table early on the weekends. I would recommend this to anyone. Pancakes and bacon were really good!

I came here for some late morning brunch. We got there at prime time and it was only a 10 – 15 minute wait — not bad at all! Our service was great, and our food came out relatively quickly. I got the Very Veggie Omelette(has cream cheese on the inside — very good) and a side of cinnamon toast and fruit. I also tried the cornbread casserole — it was different. Some bites were delicious; others were not. My omelette was great with the cream cheese but it was also very very greasy. I can still feel my stomach trying to figure out how to process the amount of grease I had. It was still good though! It’s a relatively normal«diner-esque» style place that was a great way to satisfy my morning hangriness. It was moderately cheap and a quick, easy experience. Would I be back? Yes! Am I dying to go back for something specifically? No.

When their food is cooked properly it is really good. Only problem is when they don’t fix it right, the food is just average. I love their corned beef hash with poached eggs. Sometime the yolks are hard and overcooked. Because of this, I’m fearful to order it in the future. Their lunch menu is very close to Sahm’s but less sides. The burgers are smaller but also are cheaper. It is a more relaxed atmosphere than Sahm’s.

Went to the Roost for the first time on New Years Day. They were very busy but we were seated promptly. Very good service. Had their Mexican omelet and it was very good. My girlfriend had the eggs Benedict and was disappointed that the English muffin wasn’t toasted. When she mentioned that, I realized that my toast wasn’t «toasted» either, just warmed up. Odd. Will definitely visit The Roost again when in the area.

This is my favorite breakfast place in fishers. The west coast sunrise is my favorite! The toast is all fresh made, pancakes are great and love all the lunch sides to choose from. New décor makes it cute but it’s a small shop if your a big person. Usually best to go for brunch during the week.

Arrived by 830am, we were seated right away. We had a great waiter Angel. Our breakfast was perfect temperature when it arrived to our table. Stuffed blueberry pancakes with a side of turkey sausage and veggie quiche of the day with side of cornbread casserole. My quiche was delicious, I wasn’t crazy about the casserole. I am looking forward to going back to try their corn beef hash.

They have made some changes in the kitchen and the quality of food has gone down. I think the same kitchen is also working at Sahms so it’s par for the course. One good server has left and they let a good one go. They have a few veteran servers left. If it were not for the veteran servers and the locals I would not go to this place. The Jose Skillet is still my favorite. The biscuits and gravy are not what they used to be. The kids still like their waffles. The bacon is not what it used to be– it’s now something you would find on a burger at Wendy’s. I remember the good ol’ days when this place was a four or five out of five stars. I went to this place everyday for a couple of years. Now I go once a month. It’s turned into another Sahm’s.

The food was good and price was reasonable. What I didn’t like was the service. They were quick, yet I was still eating, sandwich in my hands and the waiter came over and took my plate. I didn’t have a chance to tell him no, he wasn’t paying attention.

Visited on Labor Day for a late breakfast. Place was crowded but only had to wait about 10 minutes, so not bad at all. After placing our order we waited for ever. Server eventually came by to tell us that our order was misplaced and they were going to get it out asap. What? Misplaced? We finally did get food which was not bad but by by that time I would have eaten just about anything. No adjustment was made to our bill whatsoever. Save yourself the trouble and go some place else, not worth the agrivation.

We’re new to the area, so we’re exploring restaurants every weekend. My wife has already proclaimed The Roost her favorite, and that’s based on many years of breakfast dining, not just in this area. They bake all their own breads and pastries. Try the raisin bread or sugar-cinnamon toast. Yum! The cornbread casserole is another dish my wife and I highly recommend. And the service was prompt, attentive and very friendly. Enjoy!

Darn good breakfast! The only constructive feedback is that our meals didn’t come out at the same time. Otherwise… crispy bacon. An excellent biscuits and gravy. Brewed iced tea. Eggs cooked to order. Hash browns were perfect. Great coffee cake. Fresh fruit. Plenty of water. Solid friendly service.

The perfect breakfast spot that still manages that small, hometown feel with the locals sitting up at the bar discussing town events while watching Fox News on the tvs. Service here has always been prompt and friendly, but it is pretty popular on the weekends, so expect a slight wait at peak times. My favorites are their skillets, a mix of eggs, cheese, your choice of meat, and hashbrowns. The corn beef hash is also amazing, as is their biscuits and gravy. Do yourself a favor and opt for a side of their popular coffee cake to go with your order. Servings for the majority of their plates are large, so be prepared to walk away full or with some leftovers. They also serve lunch as well, but for me, the real winners are the breakfast items.

Since my husband and I have been on the hunt for a new regular breakfast joint, we have hit The Roost a few times. BESTCORNBEEFHASHEVER. Yeah, so that’s what I usually get, never disappointed. I love that consistency. This isn’t the cubed sh*t from a can with over processed beef type product and mushy potatoes. This is real shredded potatoes with delectable chunks of real corn beef. Eat it, you will thank me and be able to die a happy person. Coffee is really good. .. inside. While it’s thoughtful to have coffee for patrons while they wait, it may lead a newcomer to believe that if they serve low quality water downed coffee they then the food must not be that great. Which is not the truth, at all! So bypass the while you wait coffee. My husband usually gets the omelets and loves the cheese n bacon one. I believe the meats ate from Smoking Goose. I love the garlic gaga omelete, but as you could probsbly tell from the first paragraph, that has only been 9rdered once. Omelets come 2 egg or 4 egg, which is a nice option to have. Only once have we had bad service. It was very out the ordinary so I won’t hold it against them. The Roost will stay in the running for regular Sunday breakfast spot. It’s local and they try to use some local products, definately worth points in my book.

Lets be honest… Fishers is a quiant town, but most of us venture to Indy or the surrounding areas for non-chain restaurants. Since ive discovered The Roost, I may gave found a reason to stay in town on the weekends as I avoid the inevitable house cleaning. I LOVE going out to breakfast on the weekends & local establishments are always the best. The Roost has a great staff, a large bar area for small groups, & a menu with a great deal of variety. Food: hash browns are great. Omelets are, too. Bread is my weakness & it’s homemade, so I may be biased, but I couldn’t say no. Prices are very fair for what you get.

This is my go to restaurant place here in Fishers. It is right down the street from my house, cheap, and some of the best breakfast around. That being said, even though I’ve eaten here several times, I get the same thing always. The biscuits and gravy are out of this world. The biscuits are sooooo moist and soft and the gravy is homemade creamy, rich goodness. I also enjoy their homemade corned beef hash. It is soooo deliciously flavored with huge chunks of corned beef throughout. Now for the bad. I am an egg Benedict junkie and I’m not too fond of theirs here. I would skip it. Stick with the corned beef hash and/or biscuits with gravy and you will be happy.

The wife and I stopped in on a Sunday morning to continue our breakfast/brunch tour of Indy. We LOVE rockstone pizza and live right by Sahms Place, but unfortunately neither of those are open at 8am(although Sahms does do brunch later in the day) We arrived about 8 and were seated immediately. As quickly as we could order it, coffee was at the table. We debated a while, but both settled on pancakes. I went with my token choice of bacon in the cakes and added a poached egg. I’m going to start with the egg: 100% perfectly poached. The cakes… tasted weird. They didn’t taste bad, but they wouldn’t make me want to come back. After eating I saw some egg dishes come out with sides of bread and remembers the Unilocal reviews talking about homemade bread. I think your best bet here is probably eggs with bread. Unfortunately, we had great service but I can’t award more than 3 stars based on those mediocre pancakes. But, we promised ourselves we would try them again and eat eggs and homemade bread.

Great breakfast place with affordable prices. I will have to come back and try the lunch selection. Be warned that on the weekends thereby be a considerable wait to get a table. Once you are seated the service is great and attentive. The omelet had great flavor and was a good sized portion. My boyfriend had the French toast and described it as «melt in your mouth good». It was optional to top it with fruit which he decided against this time. They have several tables that can accommodate larger parties(6 – 8) which was nice to see as well as a bar type counter if you were a small party of 1 – 2. Love seeing the local guy get the local business!

On a recent Sunday, decided to try this place out but I wasn’t overly impressed by the whole experience. Hostess: Quoted us a wait time of 20 min but our wait was less than 10. Did she make a honest mistake in her estimate or do they intentionally inflate wait times to discourage people from waiting? Had the sausage skillet. While it was a filling meal, there was nothing to excite me. It felt like a regular entrée that you could get at any breakfast joint. Sitting next to the window, there was a huge breeze around my ankles that it was almost uncomfortable to sit correctly in the booth. I wanted to sit facing out of the booth and rest my legs on the cushion.
