Budget of Federal Way

Justin & Ernie went the extra mile for me and made my day. When I tried to rent a car at the airport this trip the prices were 5x what they usually are so I rented one in Federal Way instead. The selection wasn’t huge but I got a new, clean Kia Soul at a really fair price. The praise comes in when I asked for a ride to the transit depot to catch the airport shuttle. They were quick to accommodate and knew it’d be cutting it close for me to catch the bus so Ernie Expedited my return and Jesse drove me to the station. When we got there the shuttle just pulled away and Justin knew I needed to make my flight so he offered to take me and in 15 minutes I was at the airport where i’m now writing this from. From now on i’ll do my best to book rental cars here when I’m in the Sea-​Tac area.

The Employees are the reason that this place got a 2 star. They were friendly and honest about the situation.
Tips for anyone who wants to use this company:
–NOT ALL LOCATIONS HAVE ALL TRUCKS! Twice I’ve rented from them and both times I rented a 14 foot truck and ended up with a 16 foot truck. The employees told me that this location doesn’t carry anything smaller and that their corporate site doesn’t even consider that. This location ends up losing money since they constantly have to rent larger trucks out for a discount because of this error.
–Reserve under the NAME OF THE DRIVER. If you, like me, aren’t familiar with driving something nearly the size of a semi, you’ll find someone either family or friend to drive the truck. However, if you’re not driving the truck, they won’t rent to you. So the Driver must make the reservation if you want it to be painless. ALSO if you reserve the truck and they end up putting the rental under the driver’s name, expect to be charged a «NO SHOW FEE». Even if you were physically in the office! And that takes about 5 – 7 days to be returned to you.
–Cash Deposit or credit card. Do not use your debit card and expect 2 – 3 days before the hold releases. If it’s a cash deposit, then they’ll give you the difference and it helps so that it doesn’t matter if the driver is you.
But my best recommendation?
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This has to be one of the worst rental places ever. I first spoke with a woman that told me there was a Mazda that was available. Upon arrival the Mazda is not available and we had a Hyundai instead. Okay fine no big deal, however that was just the beginning.
We took the vehicle and it was completely unsafe to drive in the rain. Wipers were completely trashed and I can’t believe a state where it rains so much the owners and employees of this establishment are just ignorant of safety.
This was the only location with an available vehicle close by so we opted to get it and had a whole conversation about returning it at the Puyallup location. In this conversation she failed to mention that there was a ridiculous fee to return it somewhere else.
This location will either rent you a vehicle that’s undafe, not available or simply waste your time and/​or money.
Robert Lee is the operator of this store and is very rude. He is simply unprofessional and works with the customer is wrong attitude. Stay away from this place!

Got there at 8 when the place opened and the employee wasnt in yet. He was not very happy to be there and gave mediocre service at best.

Actually rented this vehicle from Arizona and returned it to this location in Federal Way, WA. Had some trouble with this moving truck on the way to Washington. When I turned it in, I told the clerk at the counter that there were front-​end problems. It had a leaking axle seal and oil got on the brake drum and made it smoke and look like the truck was on fire. The front rotors were so warped that when you stepped on the brakes, the whole truck felt like it was shaking apart. The tire pressure monitor was not working when we got it. I had stopped in Portland, for several hours, when the truck was smoking and had an emergency service call. So, when I turned in the truck today, I MADE SURE to tell the clerk the problems. The clerk acknowledged what I had said and literally rented the SAME TRUCK to the next person in line. These people are highly unethical and this could be a safety hazard, but they clearly don’t care. It’s just about the money and getting the truck turned around.
