I don’t know about you, but I evaluate the spice level of my Thai food as a function of the BM burn I experience afterwards. This joint was smooth with a fiery ending 4 hours later. Kudos.

Finally… a Thai restaurant that speaks to my cravings!!! The spring rolls are delicious. The crab cheese is just as good… BUT– the plum sauce needs a little work… I would rather buy my own sauce to dip the appetizers in. It’s too thick and yellow. To the management, could you try using the red sweet and sour sauce? I think it’ll match your fried appetizers better. My husband favors the Chef special noodle and my favorite is the Pad ped(eggplant with red curry). :) Lunch portions end at 3pm. Meaning, dinner pricing starts at 3pm! If you want to try this place out, try take out at lunch!

Stopped in at 8:29 on Monday 2⁄16. They would not seat us because they were«only doing takeout.» Sign said that they were open and their hours said they were open until 9:00. Just moved down the street. Certainly won’t be back after the cold reception.

this is by far my favorite thai place. i’ve been going here for years. the staff is always incredibly friendly and the food is perfect every time. I don’t usually dine in but the carry outs are always speedy and served with a smile.

When I think of this place, I think of one word: consistent. I know it’s not the absolute best but it’s never terrible. I can count on Thai Kitchen for mediocre to above-average americanized thai food. I frequent this place about once a week. It’s one of the better Thai restaurants out of the few choices in Farmington and it’s relatively cheap for big portions. I normally get pad thai, pad seew, tom kha, or basil fried rice. Sometimes the pad thai or pad seew has a lot of sauce, which I don’t always prefer, but I don’t like it dry either. The basil fried rice is delicious and has a ton of vegetables stir-fried in it. It’s not to salty and has a good amount of heat, even for mild. So if I am in a pinch and I want some decent Thai food, I have no qualms with going to Thai Kitchen to fulfill my craving.

I only order the pad Thai when I come here. It’s good. And the best around. I have to go to Ypsi to find any better. Only draw back is I needs a good cleaning. For a food establishment the tables are beat up. Booths are taped. Dust on anything hanging. I mean thick too. If it wasn’t for that. I probably come way more often. Food places must be clean in my opinion.

I give them 3 starrs because they have the best thai curry in town and great service. Overall it’s nice place to enjoy thai cuisine with nice thai music and great atmosphere.

I was looking for pad thai and didn’t feel like driving very far so I reluctantly tried this place and was VERYGLAD I did! Every time I’m there I get the pad thai with vegetables(hot) and am consistently happy with my food. The vegetables are fresh, the sauce is very tasty, and the spice is perfect. Is this«change-your-life thai»? Probably not, but it is good food that is convenient and the service is friendly.

I used to work right down the street from this retaurant and I ate lunch here at least once a week if not more if I could afford it. The pad thai is delicious, and the soup and crackers they give you to start your meal with are very good too. Always good service and you get your food very quickly which makes it a good spot to go for lunch as well. Wish I lived closer because I would be going all the time :)

My rating is probably unfair, because I wasn’t able to order any food. This is more of a heads up. Their online menu includes a selection of vegetarian options, but that isn’t included in their restaurant menu. Even when meat is replaced with tofu, they aren’t technically vegetarian due to fish and oyster sauce. Almost all of the dishes include dairy, as well. Our waiter reported that their dishes include half and half, and only one dish(fried rice) didn’t have dairy in it. Unfortunately, they aren’t able to cook their dishes without these items. Aside from the food, our waiter was very friendly and helpful.

Three Stars for the semi-ok Thai: Had the F4: Egg fried rice with curry powder, green & red pepper, pineapple, toasted cashews, and tomato. Pork as the protein. Rice was cooked well, and it had a bit of that rich buttery fried rice taste with the punch of curry powder. The green peppers needed to cook longer, and I found the massive slice of cucumber a bit odd. Place felt super dirty, sorry.

Apparently this isn’t the place to hang out on a Friday night because me and my boyfriend and our friends were the only ones in the restaurant at 7 pm. The service is slow and the restaurant is pretty quite. We were given a basket of shrimp chips as a starter. We had the pad thai curry with beef with medium heat and the chicken pad prik in mild heat. My pad thai curry was very saucey which I appreciated but it was definitely spicy and I have a pretty good tolerance for that. The pad prik was also saucey which was satisfying. I believe our friends ordered drunken noodles and a curry in mild heat along with spring rolls. The thai tea was extremely sweet and the food was alright — not something you would go crazy over for a second helping. Portion sizes are a bit small for the price you pay.

This place has gone downhill. All of a sudden the food is not fresh tasting at all. And their spice level is totally off. But what got my goat is that when they made my food super spicy after I ordered it as «no spice,» is that they wanted me to bring in my food in order to show them that I had not eaten too much of it first. No future credit, I had to go there immediately, interrupt family dinner time, and take with me their screwed up, super spicey Pad Thai, which they told me HAS to be spicy. I was so insulted, I couldn’t believe it. No apology for their mistake. Nothing. I will NOT be back. (btw, they knew that I was a regular customer when they talked to me like this. I had never before returned a dish. Obviously they do not care about their customers one bit)

I was surprised to see some below average reviews as I have been to this restaurant for years and food was pretty good. So I decided to come back here and had the Pad Thai. Surprisingly, the Pad Thai looks kind of different than what I used to have. The noodles is not dry, and instead it is watery. When I asked the waitress why the noodle looks like these, she told me they are not Thai, they are Mong people working at Thai restaurant.(What?! Is it an excuse to cook the Thai food differently ?)

Not my favorite Thai food place, but the one I went to most often. Really good drunken noodles and pad Thai. Nothing fancy about this place, just decent prices, food, and service.

Around Farmington there are not a ton of good Thai choices. And I will say the food was pretty okay. My real problem is it seemed very dirty. I remember coming here a few years ago and I don’t believe they have picked up a mop since. I hate to give bad reviews, but I came here expecting a certain level of food and left thinking I should have gone to the Indian place down the street. I would come back if in a pinch because the food was edible.

I haven’t been to many Thai restaurants that I would classify as «bad», but Thai Kitchen fits that description pretty well. They were fairly busy over the lunch hour, between dine in customers and carry out, but they only had one waitress/cashier for the whole restaurant. Considering that, the service wasn’t awful, but she had trouble being attentive with so much to do. The main reason I’m giving 2 stars is I found the food underwhelming. The hot and sour soup was tasty, with a good balance of spice and a nice consistency. For the main course, I ordered pad cashew, and I was not impressed. It lacked flavor and the spice level was too high despite ordering mild. I also had some tough pieces of chicken. The restaurant itself is under-finished. The walls are stark white, and the tables are finished simply with white cloths. No atmosphere here, no Thai décor to speak of… On the plus side, prices are pretty reasonable. You can stay well under $ 10 and the portions are quite large. I suppose if you live nearby and don’t have other Thai options, Thai Kitchen would be fine. But with so many other good Thai restaurants around, such as Siam Spicy in Novi, I would drive a bit further to find really flavorful, good Thai food.

I’ve never had a bad meal here. I’ve eaten at many Thai food places, and this is by far the best! One problem with the food is that the amount of spice is not consistent, no matter how much you order. So, I order it mild with extra spice on the side and everything’s good that way. And my only real complaint is the service. Usually, I just get my food to go, but on the chance that I do eat in, I always get the same girl who is not very attentive to the needs of the table. It’s not horrible service, but I need a little more. :)

This was my first visit here, I came on other Unilocal recommendations, I got the Vegetable pad Thai medium spicy, I don’t think I was ready for the Medium yet, I should have got the mild, out side of that, it was good, it’s had that tangy sweet but hot flavor. The soup was good too, a huge bonus is the full picture of water they give with your meal, been to other Thai restaurant were this wasn’t an option, anyone who eats spicy food can appreciate this, the service was really fast and staff was friendly. The place was clean, but the décor is a bit drab. I’d come back again.

I Love the food at Thai Kitchen! I have only gotten the pad thai(because it’s so good, I don’t want to try anything else), but my husband has tried a few things and has always been happy. This is often our go-to place for Friday night take out. Tips: 1. mild is still pretty spicy, sometimes even too spicy(it’s not consistent). 2. We always get extra meat on our dishes($ 1 or $ 2) and the price for two take-out meals ends up being pricy($ 25); sometimes we say we’ll find another cheaper place, but always come back. 3. We ALWAYS have to wait for our food, even if we come late to pick it up. My husband and I joke about the fact that we must have offended someone there, so they make us wait . But, the food is delish!
