Very good food, very good service. I eat here every week or two and never have found a reason to complain!

I order take-out from this restaurant on the regular because it is so close to my home and work. The drunken noodles are solid, pad thai is a little on the runny side. The curries are good, but do not necessarily resemble the authentic stuff. If i’m not feeling picky and need a warm meal to keep me full at work, this is my go to place.

Ordered pad Thai noodles and they served what looked like fettuccine noodles which didn’t have much flavor. Chicken was minimal in amount and rubbery in texture.

Oh, boy. So my family visited this place for dinner and left quite unimpressed. For starters I ordered the tom kha gai, which had a severe lack of flavor and heat, despite ordering it «medium.» The chicken was mealy and the flavor of the broth was underdeveloped and had very little salt component, as was the case with the rest of the meal. The crab rangoons we ordered were somehow overcooked and yet rubbery. They also dripped dark brown oil out of the center, one of which left a large, dirty-looking puddle on the plate. My wife’s curry pad thai was also bland. Maybe they ran of fish sauce? The curry pad thai was very runny, as opposed to many others I have tried in the area(Bai Mai Thai’s in Detroit was delicious!). My Gulf of Thailand dish was once again missing any salt and at «medium» spice had none to speak of. The brown garlic sauce had a scorched flavor and when I tried to explain that to the man and woman who came from the kitchen, she explained that the meat is charred in the wok and that’s what I was tasting. I tried to kindly explain I know the difference between charred and burned, and if they charred the meat, the beef in the dish should not be a light gray color, almost indistinguishable from the chicken by looks and taste. My daughter’s vegetable peanut sauce dish was SWEET! I enjoy the usual sweetness of peanut based sauces but this felt like it could nearly give my diabetes. When we tried to explain to the man and woman that we just didn’t care for the food, she insisted that I pay for some of the meal because she had cooked it. I agreed and we gladly paid the bill and left what I felt to be a reasonable tip for the kind and attentive server/cashier. I’m glad I don’t speak Thai, or I’m sure I would be insulted by the exchange between the man and woman when we were trying to explain that we didn’t like their food. All-in-all, this was not a good experience and although our stomachs were not full when we left, at least our appetite was gone.

I’m new to thai food and this place in a new neighborhood favorite. The reviews I read from other locals made me drive here over other places. It has been long standing in the community and I see why. Good food and great prices. Recommended.

Extremely disappointed. We have ordered from here a few times before, but tonight the food was HoRrible. Chicken satay was beyond DRY. Overcooked. Tom Yum soup – which is always delicious – even had overlooked chicken. And it was over seasoned with something that resembled baby powder(ylang-ylang maybe.?). Either way, I’m over it. If you can’t cook chicken right, I’m out.

Incredibly delicious! A favorite since I moved here 3 years ago. I’ve only had three or four things here and they are all fantastic – so I keep ordering them again and again! And the portions given, whether carry-out or dine-in, are generous; you have to take some home. :-) Number 1 is Kow Soy(Curry Egg Noodle Soup) w/shrimp, meat or tofu. It’s labeled as a soup but it’s so hearty that it’s a main dish. The flavor is super savory, blending curry and coconut milk, like nothing else I have ever had. Second has to be the Pad Thai. I have never had it anywhere else because I never visited a Thai restaurant before this one. It’s fantastic: slightly sweet and brimming with savory flavor, just fine w/no spice. I might try it with a tiny bit of spice soon. Variety adds zest to life! Third(tied) are the Pad Pak and Gang Gai curries. Its been a while since I had them so I’m trying to remember how they’re different … Very similar in that both contain vegetables and you can add meat or shrimp, but contain different curries(red vs. green, I think), blended with coconut milk – super savory and delicious! Coconut milk adds such dimension to a dish ~ it’s part of what makes Thai so special and unique compared with other Asian foods. Appetizers: Satay Gai, the marinated chicken skewers, are delicious with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. Tod Mun, spicy fried chicken with cucumber salad, is tasty and unusual as well. Mind you, the cucumber salad is not a side salad, it’s a tiny dish of tasty, thin white sauce with mini cucumber cubes – like a condiment. Spring rolls are pretty good but not the best I have ever had. The friendly owners know me by name. Nice touch and makes it more fun when ordering and picking up. They also keep honoring the 10% discount card they gave me several years ago. 8-) Finally, for those like me addicted to their smart phones, DEFINITELY try the iPad Thai. It downloads incredibly fast, offers a beautiful, wide screen and boasts a huge amount of RAM. LOL, jk… It’s not a real dish here. If it were, I would add mild spice.

If I can give this place 0 star, I would. I am not a picky eater, but this place has to be one of my worst dining experience. Believe what another reviewer said here, the food has a soapy smell. Even the water cup has it. Probably something wrong with the dishwasher in the kitchen. The food tasted terrible. One of us ordered hot and sour soup, and it looked like dark jello. And we nicknamed it «Crude Oil Soup». The beef in my curry has a weird texture and taste to it, and I had one bite and decided I don’t want to risk my health. The rest of us did the same. The worst part, when we told the manager/owner about it, she told us that’s how Thai food tastes. And when we said we had lots of Thai food before, then she said that’s how Thai food tastes in Detroit, and it’s different from NY or Chicago. And there’s nothing she could do about it. So we paid our bill, then crossed the parking lot to eat in Panera Bread. BTW, when we arrived at the restaurant at 8pm, we were the only customers. So that tells you something: Run away from this place as fast as you can.

Worst food ever, don’t come here period. The food had a soapy smell. The chicken and shrimp on our food were inedible. On top of that, when we complained we were told that’s how Thai food tastes like. So please do yourself a favor and don’t come here.

This place is THEBEST thai food around. I have been going here since I was in high school(i’m pushing 30 now… so its been a while). Their service has always been super friendly and their food is great. This is the only thai place i have ever had a soup called Tom Ju Tofu, which is absolutely delicious(clear brother, glass noodles, and lots of green onions and mushrooms, though i get it with out the shrooms). They serve it with shrimp chips(which i also have a hard time finding at many thai places) which are GREAT dipped in the soup. I regularly order the chicken satay and chicken kow pad. both are extremely flavorful. I have also had the drunken noodles, pad thai, and panang curry which are also very good. If you liked your food hot, requesting hot spiced is sure to clear our your sinuses. The only down side I have is that my favorite soup is only available during dinner hours. But the Tom Yum is available for lunch, which is also pretty tasty.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet! I order out from here on a regular basis. The owners are awesome! They take good care of all of their patrons(dine in or carry out). They’ll accommodate orders to your preference without question. The veggies always have a little snap to them so you know you’re still getting the nutrients. The curries are all fantastic(trust me, I’ve tried them all). The Veggie Fried Rice and Veggie Pad Thai come chock full of veggies. Sooooooo good!

Extremely bland food. When the only flavor that stands out in the drunken noodles was the bean sprouts… that’s that sh*t I don’t like lol. The Tom Yum soup on the other hand was very good, and had freshly cut vegetables. Nevertheless, it’s still not worth eating here again.

So unimpressive that I forgot that I had been there before. Sigh. I am utterly unimpressed. Apparently my vocabulary is also quite unimpressive. Anyways, I often look for a Thai restaurant to go to that is not too far since its a huge comfort food for me. I grew up with Thai street food. So far I haven’t found many. I walked in, the space is large and spacious. Although there is a dark back part that seems to be just partitioned off and seems a little sketch. They brought me my menu which was soon followed by hot and sour soup and shrimp crackers. The soup was pretty clearly instant with maybe a few added ingredients. It was also less than lukewarm. Granted I didn’t get to it for a full minute but that should not affect the temperature of the entire soup. The shrimp crackers were also slightly stale or damp? Whatever the case I only had two. Unfortunate since I heart shrimp crackers! I ordered a Thai basil stir fry and changed the vegetable from green bell pepper to peapods, to which she alerted me that it would cost extra because it costs more. Whatever. I was ok with that(until the food came). The food came quickly, but that was about the only good thing. It looked and tasted more like Chinese food than Thai food. It was so soupy… no, just a lot of viscousy sauce that just over saturated the entire dish. I will go back one more time for a dinner(unless I forget this equally unimpressive affair) since the Burmese waitress suggested I come back for dinner when its less busy when the kitchen would be able to cook my dish into a more Thai way. I left disappointed, left the left overs, and $ 10 down.

My favorite place for Pad Thai. Gang Pak and Pineapple Curry are also delicious. Super fast service and dine-in lunch comes with Hot/Sour soup and shrimp chips. Love love LOVE this place!

This was the first Thai restaurant, I’ve ever ate it, and I still haven’t found any place better. The drunken noodles and pad Thai are some of the best you will find in Metro Detroit. Located in a somewhat abandoned shopping center, but don’t let the area fool you, this place isn’t run down. A little pricier then the other Thai food place in town, but the quality of food and service make up for it. So if you never had Thai food before, this is where you should start.

If you’re looking for that fresh, well seasoned Thai flavor, look elsewhere. If you are looking for bland but salty, greasy and heavy… well then you’re all set! Poor service and unwilling to accommodate any special requests… And by ‘special’ I mean using a different noodle from elsewhere on the menu in a given dish. I know… Tricky stuff! Vegetarians beware… They bring out a basket of chips made of shrimp. Additionally, my boyfriend ordered a dish that he felt was inedible… Our server argued with us… stating it was because we weren’t familiar with Thai food(we are) she refused to let us speak with a manager, and was incredibly condescending. We’ll never go back but maybe you’ll have better luck.

So far, my favorite Thai restaurant around! We love the shrimp chips that start every meal, and pair nicely with their fabulous Hot & Sour soup. I ALWAYS get the Pa Nang curry with chicken medium spicy, sometimes a little hotter — and it never disapponts. Sometimes at other Thai restaurants the curry will separate and have an oily sheen, never here! Pair it with a Thai iced tea, and I’m good to go. I do think I had something else here at some point, and it was good as well, but I don’t make it out to Farmington as often as I once did, so I have to get my fix on the Pa Nang when I can. I’m sure whatever your favorite Thai dish may be you won’t be disappointed here.

This is a great spot for lunch as they are consistently fast service and the food is good too! I have been going here for about 5 years now. You can find the full menu for Bangkok Kitchen at Just about as soon as you sit down you’re brought a small cup of soup and some waters along with a water pitcher. This works perfect for my fiancé and I as you’ll certainly need plenty of water to go with the spices! I’m a big fan of the drunken noodle dish. For each meal you can choose beef, chicken, or tofu. I like the chicken best. You also pick the heat level: mild, medium or hot. The medium is good for me and I’m a fan of spicy foods. The hot sometimes comes out too spicy so I go with the medium and then add seasoning if it needs a little more kick. The pad tai is pretty popular here too and I like the flavor of this dish as well. The pad tai and most other dishes come with white rice. There are only a few noodle dishes so I like to try those. This is a fast, tasty, and inexpensive lunch. You can get in and out easily in 30 minutes and only spend $ 10 a person! Thumbs up!!!
