I bought an item off Ebay. It was a large scanner for blueprints. The seller took it to the UPS store #1989 in Fargo N. Dakota and was quoted $ 100 extra for the packing of the scanner. I paid the money and the item was packed and sat in the store for over 2 weeks and only was shipped out after repeated calls about the box. The box arrived and the contents were totally destroyed. UPS states it was not packed properly and I can tell it wasn’t also. The item weighs in at 140lbs but they used a man made box(2 boxes together to make it fit) They used bubble padding around the unit to protect it. Bubble padding is not rated for crush strength. It is meant meant to prevent shifting inside a box not padding from the outside world. The cardboard box was only rated at 65lbs bursting strength and this item weighed 140lbs. The store manager JEFF has been rude to anyone that has contacted him about this problem. Jeff states that it was more than one box together so that the shipping weight of the boxes adds up. So 260lb boxes means it will handle 120lbs. Only in JEFFs world does that make sense. I have numerous pictures of the carnage this item suffered from their bad packing job and can provide the pictures on request. I would not trust this store to ship anything ever no matter how small or large as the shipping guarantee they state on their website they don’t have to follow it. It’s just really a bait and switch deal to make you feel comfortable with their supposed shipping expertise. UPSSTORE #1989110019th Ave N Fargo, ND58102 is not who you want to ship with in Fargo… Local businesses beware as Jeff says the shipping guarantee on their website is basically just website dressing and that they don’t have to honor their guarantee even after UPS says it was packed improperly. It is their choice to honor the guarantee which they choose not to…
