Was in DC for the weekend looking for local hookah lounges to test out at night after checking out the local sites. My girlfriend and I tried Nomad last night and weren’t impressed with easy light coals only and a $ 25 Al Fahker bowl of watermelon mint.
We arrived @ Dewan Café at 7:30 on a Saturday night, were seated immediately with plenty of open couches to choose from, and got the Blue Mist hookah for $ 15. Came out in less then 5 minutes with an easy light coal on top, asked our waiter if they have coconut coals and was told it would be 3 minutes, no problems whatsoever. Also got a water for $ 3 and their tea for $ 4.
Great relaxing hookah experience that highly trumps Nomad. If you’re in DC looking for hookah, I’d highly recommend Dewan.

It’s my fav. hookah place in the DMV area. I been living here for six years now and Dewan easily became my GoTo spot. I know my hookah and very picky about it, every time I go there I leave with full satisfactions. if you like sharp taste in hookah I highly recommend their 2Apple, if you want to swim in flavor hit the BlueMist or just try to pair Orange mint hookah with slowly boiled Green Tea with mint… Cheer!

Great place, specially after they renovated the restrooms and the main furniture. I go there twice a week (Im here today). I usually bring my laptop and do some online work here. the hookah is great (they check on it always to make sure it’s perfect). Weekend nights is PACKED specially after 10PM coz they have DJ’s. Since I smoke hookah regally I like Dewan’s prices, you will not see $ 25 or $ 30 CRAZY hookah. in Dewan you smoke hookah to enjoy the flavor and pay less and have fun without going bankruptcy lol

The place is half empty due to ridiculous prices. We had two hookah and a pot of tea and paid $ 60 another time they brought us drinks that we did not order and charged us for it. I am sure the other reviews were put by the owners and employees as i don’t think anyone possibly can consider this as a best place. By the way tab water $ 5

I wish I had the zero star Option. Unilocal is being so generous with such a disgusting business and offering the opportunity of no less than one star in a review. So folks, 1 out 5 in Unilocal means ZERO. This place is the worst. People are so rude over there, food suck, everything else suck. They need some training on how to do service.

Middle eastern or not this place sucks. They charge you an 18% tip for nothing. I ordered a water ($ 3!!!) a tea ($ 3) shawarma ($ 10 which was more like a Philly cheese steak) and kitbah ($ 6) so my total was $ 30!!! Screw this place. My friend and I are still in a bad mood. I’d give this place zero stars.

One of the worst places ever, water for 5 $?? The hookah is so bad and burns real quick, bad service and management as well! Seriously save yourself and your money and don’t go there, cause last time I was there they tried to kick me out because The server came from no where and told me that I have to pay and leave cause this table is reserved for people who spends money! Yes he said that! So if you don’t wanna feel like arguing with stupid people and management go somewhere else and have fun, I will never go back again
