The breakfast I was served was very disappointing. I ordered the french toast«special» which gives me a side. Oo la la. I ordered bacon. I like my bacon with substance, not microwaved. This bacon was thin and very greasy. The french toast wasn’t anything special. Definitely not worth going out and spending money on. The tea I ordered went cold pretty quickly. I’m not sure if that was microwaved too.

This place serves really quality food at a very reasonable price. I had the sausage egg and cheese croissant and a side of hashbrowns and it was large and delicious without skimping on the eggs. This place has slightly above average food but a four star for value based on price.

Money well spent. Good food eaten. Good customer service. Review is shorter than most, but thats all you need right? Check this place out!

Breakfast was satisfying and good — we had sausage mushroom cheese omelet, ham and buttermilk pancakes, bacon, biscuits and kids selections. We were overcharged on the bill because«the computer» had a different price on the menu for one of the items(40 cents more) which took an additional 5 minutes to clear up at payment time. Waitstaff was attentive and competent– my only concern was being told upon walking in the door that we couldn’t sit in a booth — we did end up finding a booth further down the aisle. Just seems like we would come all this way to try breakfast, you probably want to make the experience welcoming from the beginning.

Grade A. Quality breakfast, old time feel. Great spot to hit up if you’ve got family in town and/or about to get some sight seeing in. Right off route 50, a main artery into DC.

Best selection for Eggs Benedict breakfasts. Three choices. Eggs with Canadian bacon, eggs florentine with spinach or eggs with crab cakes. Try them all & find your favorite eggs Benedict breakfast at Bentleys.

I know that it’s an older restaurant, pretty run down, and I know personally how that place is run and treats employees who are Latinos, which is not very well and exploitative. However, the food has never sucked. My sister always treated me to meals at this restaurant because she worked there briefly before getting an even better job. Our waitress is always methuselah’s sister or whatever, but she is very nice and attentive. This place gets 3 stars for the food not sucking or being stale, and for the nice waitress. Not 4 or 5 for smelling funky, and being sticky on contact surfaces.

This cavernous restaurant is connected to a motel and is basically an IHOP quality greasy spoon. Ironically there is an IHOP across the street. The quality is higher at Bentley’s and the staff is very local, if you know what I mean. I would always go to Bentley’s over a chain. On the day we went, it was 7am and the only other patrons were local yocals and policemen. Like, a LOT of policement. They might as well put the police station next door. The menu is pretty good, covering mostly breakfast items. I would rate the quality as not bad, not good(i.e. meh). Some things like toast and hashbrowns were great, eggs were just okay, biscuits were eh not great, bacon was very thin and not great, coffee was nothing special. Service was AMAZING, I gave a 50% tip as a result. If you have a big group, you can’t go wrong here. If you want some fancy feast, this is not your place. Top Tip: follow Bentley’s on facebook! They have regular specials that look amazing in the photos.

This is my family’s favorite place for weekend brunch, and we occasionally visit for weeknight dinner as well. The omelettes here are big and fluffy – the garden omelette is chock full of fresh veg. All the egg dishes are fab – they do a really great poached egg! My absolute favorite thing on the menu is their blueberry pancakes. The pancakes at Bentley’s are so much lighter and fluffier than other breakfast places that I am totally spoiled, and they use real blueberries in the batter – not that goopy blueberry pie filling stuff that some restaurants plop on top. Service is prompt and efficient. This is just a great place to eat and far, far surpasses the competitor breakfast chains like IHop or Denny’s!

Stopped by after a long morning of soaking in the cherry blossom scene down at the Tidal Basin. They are conveniently located off of 50 in a motel/hotel with ample parking. For a weekend, it was not as crowded as I would have expected for NoVA. My wife and I definitely felt younger than most customers there. Also saw some police officers eating there. Both are promising signs for good food at reasonable prices. Being famished, I went big and ordered French toast and bacon. The toast was cooked just right not too soggy nor crispy with not too much of an eggy flavor. The bacon was a little on the floppy side like I prefer. The meal was consumed in no time and I was back at my crossword puzzle waiting for my wife to finish. We will definitely return the next time we find ourselves in Falls Church in the morning.

I’m a fan of Bentley’s breakfasts. I probably started going there in the 1990’s and have continued. Its still good. Awesome breakfasts. They are large, priced well, the place is sizable and its comfortable and roomy. Dynamite pancakes!!!

I have lived in this area most of my life, passed this restaurant on many occasions, and never gave it a second glance… until now. We were looking for a quick breakfast and when my husband mentioned IHOP(across the street from here), I whined at the idea of dealing with such a busy crowd. Trusty Unilocal then directed us to Bentley’s and we’re glad it did! If you can get over the fact that the décor is outdated and you feel slightly like you’re at a diner near a truck stop on 95, this is a great place for breakfast. The prices are even better than local diner chains, and you get more for money — an order of eggs and bacon comes with side options including PANCAKES! The service is a little slow considering they weren’t that busy, but they were all pleasant people. I can see this being our go-to, no-fuss-no-muss breakfast place moving forward!

My husband and I are foodies. Plain and simple. So when we are nearby a place that has good review, especially a diner, we try it out. So off to Bentleys we go. Cute OLD place but clean. We were seated right away as the spot was relatively empty. Should have given us a clue. This is high priced for diner food. My husband got the French toast(2 slices) with turkey links. He added a side of eggs and grits since they don’t have a menu with a combo type breakfast. That came to $ 18. I had the southern skillet. My husband left half his meal and I left ¾. Was not impressed. Not much flavor. The service was even worse. Two waitresses couldn’t decide whose table we were. The coffee was filled so high that I could add cream or sugar. The waitress came and refilled the coffee once. The next time she interrupted our conversation to ask if we could pay the bill now because her shift was ending. So a $ 34 tab for two for breakfast. I’d be cool with that if the food had been good and the service better. But as it stands? This will be our first and last visit to Bentleys…

It was ok but they are working out poor waitress to death! Food was solid, I had breakfast. But the place needs to be rehab’d badly!

Our favorite brunch spot! Family friendly, casual«old-school» vibe. Amazing pancakes(I like to add chocolate chips to mine), French toast and skillets. The service is always wonderful, and the owner is usually there on weekends greeting customers and refilling coffees. They will alter any menu item to your liking– just ask! If you are there for lunch, I recommend ordering a burger. Have never been for dinner.

I give it 2 stars. Stopped by for breakfast on a sunday. Service was ok, food was about as good as IHOP. Nothing special about this spot. Go about a mile further south to Celebrity Delly at Graham Rd and Arlington Blvd.,…much better.

Wow, not good… Just not good at all. Service was quick and friendly enough, but that does not make up for the weak, watered down coffee, the bland eggs, the overcooked bacon, and the extremely thin pancakes. $ 10 for that heaping plate of disappointment too… Ugh I hoped this would be a nice mom and pop breakfast joint that would serve a good, home-cooked(ish) kind of breakfast, but they don’t hold a candle to mom(anyone’s mom) or even IHOP for that matter.

Back when Centreville was a one-horse town, my friends and I liked to frequent a sporadically open diner called Payne’s Family Restaurant whenever we got the chance for breakfast. We loved the no-frills approach and the waitress /cook /hostess who took our orders with a cigarette dangling out of her mouth. Not surprisingly, the restaurant has shut down for good but thanks to Gretchen P and Taylor E, I now have a very solid replacement. With a 40 year old history, this restaurant still quietly powers on into the new millennium. As mentioned by other Unilocalers, this place does not have the scene and be seen flash of the IHOP across the street. Bentley’s most definitely caters to the Shady Pines crew, but as an unofficial Golden Girl this was completely fine by me. The restaurant is humongous and could fit a large amount of breakfast lovers at one time. The menu consists of classic diner items and a few surprises like their«healthy choices» selection which I think is totally hip. Almost all of their menu items are less than $ 10 and here, almost all of their entrees come with a choice of carb. It’s not just your regular olé’ wheat or white toast either. Here carbs include a stack of their freshly made, fluffy buttermilk or a homestyle biscuit. The devil forced me to order«Jim’s Sausage and Biscuits» at a mere $ 7.99. The plate came out a goopy white mess… just the way I like it. It was highly enjoyable and reminded me of the very few(but sweet) mornings I used to get up early in college and got a chance to check out the breakfast buffet in the dining hall. Service was friendly although slow. But would you expect anything less from a place like this? Since my ever growing family is so large, even a simple breakfast at Denny’s can cost us more than a couple of benjamins. Next time, I’ll be taking them to Bentley’s!

It is not my way to give a place one star. But I shan’t ever be returning to Bentleys. I understand that owning a place is tough, but once you’ve fallen in to the trap of sysco onion rings, french fries, burger patties, bread, «cheese» and such, I think you’re done for. I want this place to be great, its another great décor, should be awesome option, but it falls flat, and that makes me sad. Cause I want locally owned-ish places to be delish, and sadly Bentley’s wasn’t when I visited.

So here’s the thing about Bentley’s. Yes, it looks like its target demographic is over the age of 120. And yes, it’s dated, old-fashioned, and generally old-school. But you cannot get more bang for your buck when it comes to breakfast, and that includes the International Breakfast Chain That Shall Not Be Named across the street. How does said great deal work? Well, in addition to the fact that most combos include your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage, and hash browns or grits, EVERY single combo off of the Bentley’s menu ALSO comes with your choice of bread(even if it doesn’t say so explicitly). But here’s thing: Bentley’s includes PANCAKES as a bread option. YUP. So you can order the two egg special, as I do, for a whopping $ 6.99, and it comes with… two eggs(duh), bacon, grits, ANDPANCAKES, plus a little bit of decorative fruit on the plate. Yuh huh. Anyway, I used to think that Bentley’s was not really my scene due to the aforementioned, er, old people-ness, of it all, but then I realized that my scene is getting a truckload of delicious breakfast food for $ 7. They put the«B» in «Breakfast» indeed.
