Went to El Jardin last night. The food was lousy so I sent it back. I asked for chicken taquitos and got beef and they weren’t fried. Asked for club soda and got water. Yes, i did speak to management and he had a horrible attitude. Not only did I not get good food or service, but I wasn’t given an apology but had to pay for my lousy meal i didn’t finish. The carnitas taste sweet and cinnamony.

I have been coming here for 30 years and this has been a great hidden little Mexican restaurant that has great food. They have always had a great Sunday brunch with cheap champagne and a great breakfast menu until recently. They no longer have the menu but instead offer only a couple of items. It is a shame because the original menu was wonderful and I have had nothing like it anywhere else. I really hope they get the message and the menu back or I won’t be back! 30 years! I wanted to get my kids to come here for there generation…

I have been here about five times and eaten five different things. All five options I’ve eaten are worthy for a five star review. My personal favorite is the Chile Rellano. Quiet environment unlike other Mexican restaurants so it’s a great place for a date or to bring your kids. The food and service at El Jardin are the best around. Definitely coming back for more!

Had high hopes after readings Unilocal reviews, but was disappointed for two reasons. First, I didn’t get the correct appetizer that was featured. Ok, it happens. But I ordered the Mahi tacos on recommendation of my server, and these were really disappointing. They were large, and loaded with ingredients, but that was part of the problem. There was either coke slaw or shredded cabbage with a sour cream sauce. This made the tacos very wet and drippy. With every bite it squirted out on my hands and even down my arm. Now tacos tend to be messy, but these were overly so. AND, most importantly, the fish was tasteless and rubbery? By the time I got to the second taco, the bottom of the shell had disintegrated. Would never order thsse again.

I absolutely love eating here. Their green salsa is one of the best spicy salsa’s you can get. And their enchiladas are nothing short of fantastic.

Service was not the greatest. Server seemed upset and non attentive. And the food was flavorless. Rice tasted like they open a box of rice a roni, And NOT A FALLBROOKTREAT. Upset I paid $ 31 dollars for food I didn’t eat or enjoyed.

This is a good place, but prepare to be disappointed if you are looking for authentic mexican cuisine. The refried beans are black beans and the rice has weird spices that definitely shouldn’t be in there. Not that any of it is BAD, it’s just not what I was looking for.

I tried something new tonight! Seafood enchiladas. They were fantastic! I couldn’t finish my dinner because that ship/salsa/queso with our happy hour cocktail gets me every time!

Met another couple there this evening for Mexican food. They love El Jardin; this was our first time. Our food server K(C)hristina was very nice, quick with the drinks, appetizers, and food, and had a positive attitude the entire time. She checked back several times to make sure we were having a good time. Food ratings: chips/salsa – good rice(w/main course) – best rice I’ve ever had in a Mexican restaurant. I wish I knew their secret! seafood enchiladas – good Wifee’s seafood tacos – good

If I could, I would rate it 3.5 stars. Too bad there’s no half star… The good: Excellent margaritas! I got a medium house margarita and was very pleasantly surprised. Good taste, and they didn’t use really cheap tequila. I wouldn’t recommend ordering less than a medium, that was about a «regular» size one. Chips, salsa, queso dip and guac were all great! If I were to do it again, I would just eat the chips and salsa and order a few margaritas. The mediocre: My dinner. I ordered a beef chimichanga(very authentic, I know), but it wasn’t anything to write home about. Not a ton of meat or flavor. Rice and beans were fine, but nothing special. The bad: The price! Everything was a little on the expensive side for my tastes. This is what you would be paying for a dinner at an Old Town Mexican restaurant! I know it’s far away, but worth it. Overall, worth a shot, especially for guac and margaritas!

This was a great experience, staff was very nice and attentive. The food was good and the price was reasonable. I had the chicken chimichanga, everything was fresh and large portions. I would go back.

In a town with a lot of options for Mexican food, El Jardin stands out as a delicious, fun option! It’s come under new ownership semi-recently, so if you haven’t been there in a while, give it another try! The restaurant is very cute and has great ambiance. My gf and I went there for a date night and found it to be romantic, welcoming, and relaxing! The food is delicious! The Carne Asada burrito was chock full of good stuff and may be the best burrito in town. And the queso sauce salsa is amazing! We noticed there are some great specials and plan to return for the Saturday date night special(2 entrees, 2 margaritas, all for $ 29) and the Sunday brunch! And I know from talking to other folks that El Jardin supports good causes locally! If you are looking for a great meal in a warm environment and would like to support a local business that supports the community, head to El Jardin!

Visited this place today and was incredibly unimpressed. Their food was incredibly blah and yet weirdly spiced at the same time. It’s best described as very gentrified«Tex-mex.» I guess we should have known better when there are were absolutely no people of Latin descent eating or working here. ;) Also I am not sure if it was our server’s first day but he was incredibly slow and not very attentive for having two tables. I don’t think we will be back especially with so many other delicious alternatives in town.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. I have always loved the sour cream burrito. The new owners have changed the place a little. Still great food. The fish tacos are quite delightful. A little pricey but tasty.

YOUHAVETOTRYTHEPOLLOENVUENTO!!! This is the best mexican dish I have ever had in my life! It has cheesy chicken quesdallias that taste gourmet with sour cream and guac on top, with rice and beans and all together its the best thing to happen in your mouth. The restaurant doesn have any background music so all you hear is a bunch of crowd but t fades over time and you just end up enjoying the food It’s expensive and on the pricier side.
