He doesn’t always get things right. He and his wife will also miscommunicate and in the end can end up costing you time and more money. I’ve had to return my truck twice on two different jobs in the past and in his latest job for me he changed a part I did not approve. He also charged me for a fix that has failed.

Friendly and reasonably priced the first few times I went in but then I felt like it was becoming just like all the other overpriced mechanics. You’d think after spending nearly $ 1000 on repairs for my truck that they might discount or wave the $ 95 diagnostic fee for our new used car, but no… that alone made me not want to go there anymore, if they had waived it I would’ve paid for the $ 500 repair the car needed but, it was the principle behind it all! The rates started getting more and more expensive but that might be because Ruben is more behind the scenes and not in «control» anymore. I take my vehicles elsewhere now.

I am very particular about my vehicles, however I never worry when I bring them to Ruben’s! I have a classic El Camino he built, a Cobra he repairs, a Viper, and 2 Rolls Royce’s he does some repairs on. I have never had a «comeback» repair, however I know all of my work is fully guaranteed, and Ruben stands behind his work, no questions asked! His technicians, Alfredo and Jose, are always very nice, professional, and go out of their way to assist you. They protect the finishes on my vehicles during repairs, as well as the interior. Often they have «worked me in» when I had issues, and got me back on my way. The front office is handled by his lovely wife, Berlyn, who always calls when my vehicles are ready, and promptly process the invoice. I love that they are open early, 6 days a week.
