Too much MSG. We got sick today after eating their Phở. May be we came too early in the morning and the meat was left over from yesterday.. sorry but 1 star. We will not come back.

Viet House has been great for years. I’m a big fan of the Phở and Cha Gio. The rice plates are good, too. Very consistent. I’ve been told that this place appeals more to American tastes, and that works great for me. The prices rise a little every year, but they still seeem reasonable. Always have a good crowd at lunch, but you can still get a table. Definitely recommend.

This place has the best vegetarian phở. Other phở places just throw some tofu and noodles together(and not always with vegetable broth, but with chicken broth). This place goes above and beyond to make the non-meat eaters happy. Not only is there one type of tofu, but two types in the bowl. It is really tasty. I have been here twice so far, but plan on returning time and time again.

I went to GMU, and for 3 years I ate every Sunday dinner at Viet House. Loved it so much, I sometimes came during the week too! Not only is it great, simple phở — its also extremely consistent! Every bowl tastes just like the last. This isnt a glamorous spot at all, but its always full of people! Even now living in NYC, I come back to VA and make sure we stop at Viet House every trip!

I am so disappointed after hearing many good things about this place. My company ordered the rice dish that came with shredded pork, house cake, and pork barbecue. Halfway through our meal, she discovered a patch of BLUEMOLD in her rice. We immediately called over our server and asked to speak to the manager. We quietly informed him(as not wanting to cause a disturbance) about the predicament and he gave sheepish look, offering us a discount and walking away soon afterwards. We were stunned. We sat there for almost half an hour, waiting for an apology in vain. Only after calling him over once again and complaining more adamantly did he give a short sorry and walk away. I do understand that things like this can happen, and that is why we did not want to make a big deal out of it, but it is only proper that someone apologizes for the mistake instead of hastily dismissing it and only addressing the monetary aspect. Other than this, the restaurant itself is average. The food was mediocre, ambiance nonexistent, and prices are more expensive than those of other Vietnamese restaurants. Service by our original server was fine, but the way this problem was handled was a huge turn off. I can confidently say that we are never coming back again, there are many other places in NoVA that can do a much better job.

Great phở and fast service. The phở is on point and the meat is good quality. We also ordered the bon bue he and it was good. Very deep broth.

Out of all the phở places, this is the oldest one and definitely a pretty good place. Their food has been consistent and the brother is rather clean. I really like their vermicelli bowl and the portions are pretty good. I would recommend this place for sure.

Been coming here for years. Quick, delicious food. Vermicelli bowl is the best thing since sliced bread.

Below average phở shop. — Ambiance: No music, not a friendly atmosphere, the workers all looked unhappy, which harshed my meal time vibe — Phở Broth: It tasted watered down and cinnamon-y. Came here on a rainy cold day and I still didn’t feel like it really hit the spot after I finished my bowl. — Portions: Decent. My family and my meat portions were pretty small though in all our phở bowls. — Service: The food came out pretty fast but the servers were just rude and looked unhappy and just ugh blah blah. The owner I think was just miserably standing and staring while we were eating too. There are so many other better phở places especially in this NOVA region that you shouldn’t opt out for this. I personally think Phở Duong in centreville is way better with cheaper prices.

I placed a large to-go order for several vermicelli bowls. Service was fine(it’s a phở restaurant… just keep that in mind). Typical menu and fair prices. I was just a little disappointed in the quality of the ingredients in the vermicelli bowls. I’ve had better elsewhere – the grilled meats were not as tasty, the vegetables were not as fresh(both visibly and in terms of taste), and I didn’t receive any carrots(there appears to be carrots in another photo on Unilocal). The fried rice was pretty bad too, extremely bland. We did get a phở, though, and that tasted on point. So I recommend sticking to the phở here.

Really bad service and management. We drove 30 mins to Viet House hoping to have a good meal with family. We ordered soft rolls(goi cuon), «phở“and«bún bò». In the picture on the menu, a soft roll has 4 pieces of shrimps but what they actually brought out had only 3 pieces. They can get sued for false advertising. Phở and Bún Bò’s broth was not hot because instead of using a ceramic bowl they used a cheap plastic bowl and didn’t even heat up the bowl to keep the soup hot, and the meat was plain with no sweetness from fresh meat. I asked a server to heat up my bun bo again. He took it back in and never returned it, my family finished their meal but my bowl was not brought back until we asked for it. The server brought it out and said sorry. The noodles absorbed the water and expanded, which had too little broth left. The broth was cold; I wondered if they even heated it up or just left it in the kitchen and brought it back out. We told the manager, he said«Let me check» then charged us the full price. REALLY??? We were still being charged for the terrible quality bowl of bun Bo? This place doesn’t know how to give even a standard compensation/service and is greedy. It was my favorite restaurant and I hate to say that I and my family WILLNEVER go back there again. Very disappointing!!!

A-OK. Nothing exceptionally amazing happening here, just a consistent quality of food that you can count on, hands down. The atmosphere is laid back and easy-going, there are a few tvs to catch the current sports on the walls but they keep the noise level to a minimum so you can actually hold a quiet conversation with someone if you wanted. This place just has your standard phở and standard dishes and actually is a little bit pricer than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Not bad, not the best, but consistent in a pinch.

Phở is quite tasty. Good meat and a decent amount. The restaurant itself seems clean and kept nicer than other phở places. Customer service was good as well. I’d come back for phở here if I were ever in the area

Outstanding Phở, clean and bright place I am very impressed with this Phở discovery. I am a huge fan of shrimp phở. A competitive place in the same neighborhood was going down in cleanness and service and I happen to discover this place by accident. It is located across now closed Kmart in a rustic and cute shipping plaza. Shrimps are plenty in the large size order and sufficient for a hungry man. I also tried fresh shrimp rolls and fried meat rolls. They also tasted great. Finished all up with avocado bubble tea. Perfect and inexpensive eatery for us the local Fairfax Folks. See some of my photos. I like to try other dishes next time. And will update this review as needed. Stay tuned.

Wanted to write an update because I’ve probably eaten here at least 5 – 10 times since my first review and wanted to off-set some of the bad reviews about this place. I have honestly never had a bad encounter here. The service is always nice and they are always great with refills. I do a lot of take-out and they don’t put sriracha in the bags to begin with but I ask for a few to-go containers and they have never made me pay extra for it. This is me and my bf’s go-to place in Fairfax and I think its service is a lot better than any of the places I’ve been to recently. We usually come for dinner and its never usually crowded and our food comes out quickly, if that helps anyone(we also usually only get phở and egg rolls so I know that will come out quicker vs other items).

Great little Vietnamese spot! Easy to get in and out of the parking lot, if you have a large group I suggest calling ahead and ordering if you’re on a time limit, my coworkers and I like to go for lunch and we have about an hour to get in and out. The vermicelli bowl is the best I’ve ever had, they cut up egg rolls and place them around the bowl, delish!!!

One of the rudest waiter I’ve come across in a while. He had a lot of attitude for someone his size, perhaps he couldn’t control his Napoleon complex today? I gave him my order, and he accused me that I did not and stood there arguing with me and being confrontational. A little taken back only because I thought I was in a restaurant, not some ghetto back alley eating phở. Don’t come here if you expect smiles or any kind of service.

So my boyfriend decided to take me this place to try instead going to Eden like every weekend. I thought okay, trying something new and lets see if this is going to be any different compared to other vietnamese restaurant in Eden. This one is located in Fairfax on Lee Highway near Fair Oaks Mall. So either take Route 66 or Braddock Road would be a good idea. This restaurant located in a small shopping center but parking lot is huge so finding parking shouldn’t be a big concern. We arrived around 12pm for lunch and oh boy it was packed for this little restaurant. Luckily they had one last table left for us and we sat there right away. I ordered bun thit nuong cha gio and my boyfriend ordered bun bo hue. The one I ordered was really big portion that I couldn’t finish it. I had to ask my boyfriend to eat some for me. They gave you a lot of meats and veggies which is a good thing I guess. The bun bo hue apparently is still new to this restaurant, so it was okay. It wasn’t that spicy like it suppose to. The flavor wasn’t rich so I wouldn’t recommend to try that. The price is definitely overpriced for this vietnamese restaurant. Small bowl of phở is like 7.95 and small was literally really small. I also ordered suong sa hot lout and it was nasty. Do not order that. The service was okay, just like every other vietnamese restaurants. It wasn’t that great. they rarely come back to check on us nor even refill our water. Overall I wouldn’t come back to try other items on the menu since I can definitely get all these somewhere else with cheaper prices. Way cheeper. If you do want to try this place, i would recommend just try to bun thit nuong or cam tam, they are worth the price but not the phở part. Unless you can’t eat a lot and willing to pay the price then be my guest. Also, they do accept credit card so no worries on remember to bring cash.

A typical Vietnamese restaurant. You know, the one where you sit down, get handed a menu and then immediately asked what you want to order. I had the vermicelli bowl which came in a huge bowl and was filled to the top! It was good and filling. The side of broth I ordered on the side was flavorful as well. As for the décor, it was very green. Not the save the earth kind of green, but the color green(tables, chairs, walls). Something I couldn’t help but notice.
