I want to commend everybody on the staff at Ruby Tuesday’s in Essex for the quality of teamwork we share. It takes a strong group of people to work together and«rebuild» this restaurant. All of us are working hard and doing our best to do 2 things, bring you great service and great food. Some team members may be brand new to the service industry while others have been experienced for quite some time. But one thing I know is that we all grow and learn everyday to make the experience better. All of this is possible because of all of our wonderful guests. Your business is greatly appreciated and is our motivation to be better. We appreciate the support, patience, and feedback from everybody. Please consider us for your next family dinner or may be even a quick lunch pick up. Our staff have been making great improvements to better the dining experience. We value your time invested in strengthening our restaurant! Come out and give a chance to make your next experience better than your last, or your first experience the most memorable. Either way, our goal is to fill up our restaurant and fulfill your hunger!

This is the SLOWESTRT I have ever been to!!! No matter what time of the afternoon/late morning(11:30am-12:30pm), they can only have 5 patrons and it takes 30 – 45 minutes to get our food. We came in for lunch at 12noon, we did not get our food until 12:40. The manager stated they had 2 people in the kitchen, and they had to cut everything so it would be fresh. But yet, I see you and other servers standing around chit chatting? Really? Don’t you prep for food items on the menu before the restaurant opens? We both had the chicken, shrimp jambalaya and I really do not think it takes that long to cut onions, green peppers and cook chicken pieces, sausage, shrimp and put it over linguine noodles. We only have an hour for lunch and the majority of the time we had to wait. We ended up getting our food put in to-go boxes, because we had to get back to work. The manager WAS nice enough to give us a discount, which I appreciate. But this lag time to get food cooked is NOT a good look and now I see why the parking lot is empty most of the time.

My husband and I usually prefer non-chain restaurants and our past 2 experiences at Ruby Tuesday will serve as a reminder to stick with what works. Our first trip to the restaurant was a little over a week ago, I had a free entrée coupon and after a long drive home from the beach I was not in the mood to cook. When we arrived we were greeted by our server, ordered our drinks and entrees and received them very quickly which was nice but from that point on it went to crap. I ordered the rib combo and the ribs were so dry they could pass for jerky and my husband’s fried shrimp were overcooked and since we didn’t see our server for quite awhile, which is a bit strange since there was only maybe 2 or 3 other tables in the restaurant but whatever. When she finally did return instead of being curious as to why most of our food was still on our plates she brought boxes and since we were exhausted and could see no clear evidence of a manager’s presence we just went on our way. Flash forward to last night, again, I had won a «Buy 1 Get 1 Free Entrée» coupon and since it was expiring we decided to give them another chance, I mean everyone has off days, right??? I was again surprised to see how empty the restaurant was especially on a Friday night and as a former manager of a successful restaurant I found it odd that they just seat people randomly, instead of the server’s having sections they just get tables whenever and wherever which could be part of the problem. So, in a practically empty restaurant where does the hostess seat us but next to 2 ladies with a screaming toddler, but then again I guess it was because it was close to the hostess stand and she could get right back to playing on her phone. Well, unfortunately for us we got the same server, a young lady by the name Terrik S and when she came to the table to greet us my husband gave me a look like«here we go again». We ordered Sprites, the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, hubby decided to give the fried shrimp another try and I ordered a different style of ribs from the last time and crossed my fingers. I was trying to decide on a side item and asked Terrik if she recommended the spaghetti squash and she raved that it is a huge favorite and so delicious so I went with that and the steamed broccoli. We got our sodas but then well over 20 minutes went by and then Terrik was back with our dinners, no appetizer and no apology that we didn’t get it. She dumped off the plates and pretty much disappeared for well over another 20 minutes. While my ribs were quite good and hubby’s fried shrimp were done properly the spaghetti squash looked like a congealed blob on my plate and trust me, it tasted even worse than it looked, and the broccoli looked like it had been tossed into the microwave for a few minutes and plated, all dried out and discolored and hard. I would have loved to have sent back the sides and hubby would have really appreciated some ketchup for his fries but alas, it was not to be. Not sure where our server was for all that time because the next time we saw her she was heading to the newly seated table behind us and asked us if everything was okay never expecting us to ask for anything. Hubby asked for a refill and you would have thought he was really putting her out so I spoke up and said we would also like the check and a box, While waiting I went to the restroom which was so dirty that I didn’t want to even use it so I carefully washed the sticky bbq sauce from my hands and left quickly. On my way back to the table I saw the hostess sitting at a booth behind the hostess stand on her phone again and not surprisingly when we left there was no «Thanks for coming, have a nice evening, blah blah blah». I saw absolutely no presence of a manager and clearly the majority of the employees take advantage of that fact but that is still no excuse for their poor customer service, our server would be better suited for a job at the DMV and at the very least needs to be re-trained on the concept of serving the public. I don’t care if I win a $ 100 gift card to this place, I will NOT return that the only reason it got 1 star was because there is no option to give zero. Avoid this place until changes are made, I take part of the blame because I almost always check review sites before heading out to eat but I broke my own rule and paid for it.

I can’t understand how this location stays open. They are never busy even on a Saturday night. I’ve never been a big fan but I went with my husband and I told him never again and this time I mean it. It’s not that the food is horrible it’s how dirty it is. As soon as I started to sit down I had to brush food off my seat and stuff off the table. As slow as they are that place should be spotless. I can look past that but I was looking around while waiting and all the table were like that and the side of the booths were disgusting.

Dont go! For the price you’re going to pay, theres far more better options out there. Lesson learned, not coming back.

Server was nice and did his best but everything else was TERRIBLE!!! The New York strip was thin and dry(ordered medium) and the«herb encrusted tilapia» was mushy and had no such crust! Plating looks like they don’t even try(they don’t even take the time to throw on the typical piece of green garnish). I’m amazed this place is still open. Wish there was a «no star» option…

I wish I’d have looked at the reviews before we came here. Slow, slow, slow. Very small portions. Glad I got the salad bar or else I round have left hungry. Not impressed at all.

We ordered the ribs and crab cakes. You would think that any restaurant in MD would have halfway decent crab cakes, not this one. The ribs were rubbery and the BBQ sauce was added as an afterthought. What’s really appalling is that the restaurant was not even busy. I’ve never had such terrible ribs and I am a carnivore. I will never order from there again.

Given the horrible experiences we have had in the past here, we didn’t expect much. However we were hungry and just wanted some burgers and a few cokes. Ruby Tuesdays always disappoints. Service is Horrible with a capital H. Three different ladies though they were our waitress. Took 15 minutes for someone to offer us drinks. Manager behind bar loudly told another employee that she’s «got too much shit to do today.» Wow. Right in front of kids??? Seriously. Then the food. It was good. Young man that was expo was a freaking rock start. Seen our glasses empty and refilled them. Got our sauces and checked on us again. Then we we’re ready to leave. After another 15 minutes we finally had to ask the bar tender to check us out. Then our waitress came out and made sure she yelled from the table to the manager that it’s her table so make sure it’s cashed out under her name. She did absolutely nothing and made sure she got the 10% tip I left for horrible service. They deserved no tip other then the expo guy that should be running the place. He seems like the only one that knows hospitality. My biggest hope is that this place closes and a good restaurant takes over. It’s a nice location and deserves so much more. Listen to me. STAYAWAY

I’ve been going to this location since 2009. Recently went on a Friday about a month ago, and I don’t know what changed, but this place is going down hill, and fast. Our server seemed like she was high on some unknown substance and the food that was served was downright shameful. I submitted feedback on ruby Tuesday’s website and never received a response. I will never step foot in this location, or any location for the matter, ever again.

Man oh man. Ruby T’s has gone through a million changes over the years and you can tell the brand is seriously suffering. Ended up here against my better judgement when on a Friday night I was going out with an old co worker who is apprehensive about non chain and picky as all get out. 7:00 on a Friday and it was dead as can be. I served at a different location(now closed) a million years ago, and Friday night should be on a wait. The menu is a zoo, like it doesn’t know if it wants to be fine dining, pub grub or Americana. So it was everything. My friend wanted a Strawberry Daiquiri, but we were told that the frozen drink machine would need about an hour to get up and running. Wait, what? You advertise frozen drinks but don’t have the machine running yet? So that sounds to me like you don’t want to get it running because you’ll have to clean it out whether you sold drinks or not. So, let’s just wait until someone wants one, then pray they don’t want to wait an hour. My burger was fine, but the bun came out stone cold. They tossed it on the grill for a few seconds with some butter and tossed it back at me soggy. Yeah, nice try. Hungry. so I ate it… but there’s a reason why Unilocal has lead me to non chain gems in my area. Keep your brand, I’m not interested.

I must say that Ruby Tuesday is fast becoming my fave chain restaurant. Let’s start with the salad bar which is well stocked and so fresh and so clean. The service was fast and friendly with an accommodating server. I decided to give the bourbon glazed pork chop a try, and boy was I NOT disappointed! The chop was succulent and savory with a sweet & tangy sauce generously drizzled over the meat, served with a side of loaded mashed taters! I generally receive offers from RT via email, and had not been taking advantage of them. I shall stay on the lookout for them now!

Went here tonight with the man. Had the petite filet & coconut shrimp with the salad bar and mashed potatoes. The steak, shrimp and salad bar were decent. The potatoes, not so much. I believe that they’re powdered. Ick! Returned them and got the rice. Our server, Kristin, was great. I’ll be back for happy hour and apps. Probably not for dinner unless it’s just a burger and fries.

We sat at a table. Had great salads. The mini turkey slider was juicy/perfect. I left 6 $ tip cause our waiter was great. On time and friendly.

Always has a good garden bar but the regular menu items are hit or miss. Guess it depends who is cooking. I have had great food as much as I have poor food. Everyone is always very nice. I have stopped going tired of not knowing what to expect.

Ruby’ s has definitely improved their menu lately. Fresher, more crafty food and drinks. Presentation isn’t the best, and service isn’t very fast, but not to the point of complaining about. Stop in if you haven’t eaten there in a while.

The food at Ruby Tuesdays has always come out correct and delicious for me. I have never had a problem with the service. After signing up for their birthday club, I routinely get 25% off coupons from them and a special birthday coupon. They are also open late. They have a nice selection and I have not yet been disappointed.

Bless their hearts. Isn’t that what you say to people you feel sorry for? Where do I start? Well I just left the place and couldn’t wait to get back to a computer to rate them. My co-workers and I frequent this place a lot because of its proximity to work. It is always empty(easy to see why), and we like the salad bar. They have always been 2 – 3 star quality, but today, they were zero star quality(but we have to give em 1.) I ordered zucchini minis with salad bar. They brought out regular minis that no one claimed so right there I knew someone was not going to get what they really ordered. Guess who that was? This guy. So the server says«they are working on yours now.» Ok, why? no explanation. She comes back and says«they made regular minis instead of zucchini minis.» I don’t care, that is obviously what happened. She didn’t have an apologetic bone in her body. She also still didn’t have my food. I went back to the salad bar because whatever they brought, if they brought it, was going back refused, and I had to fill up so I wouldn’t be starving in two hours. So she takes it back, meanwhile, everyone else is beyond finished, and offering me their scraps. Thanks guys, but I am full of croutons and ranch… which are really good here. She brings the bills out at least 40 minutes later. I had a check! You have got to be kidding me. They charged me $ 7.99 for a salad bar only. I told her that I should not be charged because it is simply«the thing to do.» She took it back and I didn’t have to pay. Wow! I should try that more often. Lucky for her, we had a two hour lunch planned and it is Friday, otherwise, we would have walked right out a long time ago.
