This place is OK. Not many places to chose from in this area so sometimes there is no other choice. The owners are nice and friendly, food is average and a little pricey for what you get but they are about the only game in town so they can charge more. I would give 3 stars but the staff needs a big lesson in customer service. They never greet you when you walk in, they more or less just look at you with a blank stare waiting for you to greet them first or wait for you to tell them what you want. After you pay and are about to leave they never thank you for giving them business(the owners do sometimes but not the staff)…I almost feel like I’m bothering them by giving them business.

This place was excellent in every way. We had a chicken parmesan sub, a chicken kabob wrap and the cheeseburger plate with salad and onion rings. Everything we ate was high quality and delicious. The price for our meal was a very good value. Strongly recommend this place.

I’m just updating because their pizza is really good and it’s super consistent, which I like. It’s always exactly what you expect and they’re very nice. If you like Greek pizza and you’re around this area, this is where to go for your pie.

My boyfriend and I just moved to the area and decided to try the pizza here. We ordered a large bacon pizza. Everything except the crust was perfect. It was dry. We don’t care about the crust so this wasn’t a big deal for us. We also ordered a Greek Salad and PepperJack Mac + Cheese Bites. The Greek dressing is so good. The PepperJack Mac + Cheese Bites are awesome. We’ll definitely order food from Cape Ann Pizza again.

The pizza is great. I go here every time I’m back in Massachusetts. Definitely give it a shot. They have other food here, but I can only speak to the pizza. You can sit down to eat but it’s very casual. More of a take out place.

My favorite sub place in Essex. Great specials at lunch, had a huge pastrami on a roll that was excellent and really cheap. The chicken kabob subs and salads are really good as well.

This place is my favorite for subs and pizza. The steak tips and chicken kabob always taste fresh and the marinade they make is amazing. I’ve tried so many sub shops that tastes like the steak tips were marinaded in oil and thrown on the grill. Pizzas always done right, crispy crust, sauce that actually tastes like tomatoe sauce and just the right amout of cheese. They care how their food tastes and that’s what’s kept them in business for soo long and what keeps me going back. Plenty of parking so you can just run in get your food and your out.

The food product is OK. Nothing to write home about. However, the service lacks bigtime. The owner, counter help while seeming friendly /jovial — has a good laugh at people’s expense. In short — big fish in a small pond acting poorly because they’ve not experienced diversity. You can’t treat people poorly and expect them to enjoy an inside joke. There are other places in Ipswich, Beverly, Gloucester who can make better sandwiches and have courteous counter help.

VERY accommodating service, especially Jim, the owner. HUGE selection of delicious salads, subs, pizzas, calzones, & a variety of daily specials. Eat-in, take-out, & delivery. Excellent value. Honestly, have never had anything we didn’t like here & we order from them often from every category on the menu!

This place is disguisting, high prices for low quality. The pizza taste like cardboard with the cheapest greesiest cheese, the only reason most people go there is for convience, If there were a good place to get a sub or pizza in Essex this place would close. Terrible

Just had another delicious meal at Cape Ann Pizza. Very convenient on the way home from Crane Beach or if you’re just in the area when hunger calls. Their kabob salads are to die for, as is the pizza, and subs. I’ve had it all. They also do a great job accommodating the non-profit summer camp down the street during the summer months with large pizza and salad orders. Cape Ann is a great place for a quick bite!

Good, casual, family-oriented dining. My parents order from this restaurant every Friday night and, over the years, our family has become very close with the owner, Jimmy. The staff, which is mainly Jimmy’s family, is always very nice and accomodating. The calzones are excellent; the chicken kabob(chicken, feta, onions, and tomatoes) and the chicken, spinach, and feta are top choices. The pizza, surprisingly, is not worth ordering. Crust is a deal-breaker for me, and theirs is simply too dry and flaky to be enjoyable. The roast beef sandwich, chicken kabob sub, and lamb gyro subs are all delicious, though i’m sure that’s the standard for any of the hot subs. The salads are also hearty and fresh; I suggest the chicken kabob salad. As for sides, the spinach roll is the perfect combination of crispy, crusty dough, spinach, and melted cheese and the seasoned fries are just seasoned enough– much more flavor than the regular french fries. Enjoy!

best. chicken kabob salads. ever. i’m going to go out on a limb and say the chicken kabob salads here are waaaaay better than the ones at mike’s in gloucester. the dressing is the same, but better. i really love this place. my family has gone here for years and loves the whole menu. everyone is so nice here, too. this is the best sub shop on cape ann to please the whole family.
